6. Do your TMAs yourself and observe the ethics of

scholarship. You may discuss your work with each other

(e.g., during study sessions or in a study group schedule)
but you should write your own TMA.

Literacy is
everywhere!

If you borrow or use an idea from another source

(meaning someone other than yourself), be sure to cite the
source(s). Enclose quoted material in quotation marks or
use italics and cite the source. As much as possible,
paraphrase rather than lift ideas verbatim. Be reminded
that as per UP policy, plagiarism can be grounds for
suspension or expulsion.
Make a bibliography of your sources at the end of your
TMA following APA (American Psychological
Association) guidelines for citations. You can consult
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/ for
the APA formats. See Annex 4 of the UPOU Student
Handbook for more writing tips and suggestions on how
to avoid plagiarism. You can download a copy of the
handbook by clicking on the link in the MyPortal home
page.
Always keep a duplicate copy of your TMA just in case it
gets lost in transit or because of online glitches.
7. Consult the UPOU Student Handbook (or CD version) for

questions you may have about being a UPOU student.

8. Post inquiries about the course to the HelpDesk202

forum. Or post me a message at the course site. SMS and

phone calls should be kept to a minimum, and should
be sent/made only when necessary, and only between
8am and 9pm, Monday to Saturday.
