bowel sounds and fever in the presence of ascites &
cirrhosis
Invx: paracentesis cloudy fluid with neutrophils count
>250/mm3
Usually enteric organisms, esp E. Coli
Rx: cefuroxime + metronidazole
Prophylaxis with ciprofloxacin
