1. INTRODUCTION
Net Vision is a network adapter for the professional monitoring and remote control of a single UPS or parallel UPS system.
The Net Vision network adaptor allows a UPS to connected directly the Ethernet network allowing secure management of the UPS
over the network using a web browser, a TELNET interface or NMS application via SNMP. The protocols used for connection are
independent of the platform and operating system, therefore Net Vision is extremely flexible and suitable for all systems.
ENGLISH
In addition to monitoring and control, the Net Vision interface is able to provide a high level of protection for servers powered by the UPS.
In critical conditions, up to 250 devices powered by the UPS can be switched off in an orderly sequence whilst ensuring data integrity.
The remote shutdown is provided by a client shutdown to be installed on all computers that require this automatic function. Some clients
for Net Vision are native to certain operating systems, otherwise a universal shutdown client (JNC) can be used.
Net Vision is compatible with the following Socomec UPS products:
ITYS (all ranges)
Netys PR and RT
MASTERYS MC, BC, IP, IP +, EM and Green Power
DELPHYS BC, MP, MX, EM and Green Power
MODULYS GP 2.0
2. SAFETY INFORMATION
2.1. FOR NET VISION CARD
All servicing of this equipment must be performed by qualified service personnel. Remove rings, watches and other jewellery
before servicing the unit.
Before plugging in/pulling out the Net Vision card to/from the UPS, please make sure that the power supplying the UPS has been
switched off. Hot swap of the Net Vision in UPS is inhibited.

5. IP ADDRESS CONFIGURATION
5.1. PREPARING NET VISION
Once the UPS power is on and Net Vision has been installed in the slot and connected to the Network, the Net Vision's IP address
must be programmed.
5.3-1
When the Net Vision has a valid IP address, open the web browser and enter the IP address set manually or given by the DHCP
server. IP address can be checked with Supgrade software
utility.
By default Net Vision requests the login and password to open
web pages.
This login and password remain the same for all connections
by default.
Login: admin
Password: public

5. IP ADDRESS CONFIGURATION
If the default address 192.168.7.18 is displayed, and DHCP is enabled, this means that Net Vision did not receive a valid address.
to refresh the list of devices.

WARNING!
If using other operating systems check the IP address via Terminal session.
WARNING!
If the DCHP setting has been changed from disable (fixed IP address) to enable, RESTART Net Vision. Alternatively,
start communication with the DHCP server via the Net Vision control menu or the RESET button.

Access to Net Vision IP Address configuration: Select 1 to enter the new IP address.
5.5-4
WARNING!
After modifying the IP address you will need to open a new session again with the new IP address given to Net Vision to
continue updating the settings.
If Telnet is not allowed due to security restrictions, it is also possible to use specific tools via SSHv1 or SSHv2. In this
case Telnet should be disabled.

9. UPS MANAGEMENT
SHUTDOWN PROCESS
Principle: When a shutdown event occurs, Net Vision sends a first notification to all servers at the end of the 1st warning period. A
time period set to 0 means immediately.
While the event is present Net Vision sends notification regularly, defined by Warning interval. At the end of the event delay period
Net Vision sends the shutdown command to the servers.
ENGLISH
9.8-2
CUSTOMISATION
Temperature and humidity measurements and two inputs can be assigned as required.
THRESHOLDS
The MIN and MAX thresholds define the tolerances. If the value is out of tolerance, Net Vision will send an email, SNMP TRAP or
server shutdown command, depending on the Net Vision settings. The offset can compensate the value with a reference value.
ALERT MODE
Defines whether or not the EMD inputs are flagged as an alert in Normally Open or Normally Closed position.
For more details refer to HELP page.

- TRAP TYPE : NET VISION TRAP or RFC1628
TRAP (from version 6.1 and above)
ENGLISH
[Update Now] sends the current date and time to the UPS manually.
EMAIL MANAGEMENT
Net Vision allows you to send eMails on specific events. First send delay (in minutes) means that Net Vision waits until the end of
the delay to send the eMail if the event is still present. 0 = email sent immediately
eMail send interval (in minutes) defines Net Vision email resending after a period, if the event is still present. 0 = no repetition.
WARNING!
NET VISION is not able to manage email accounts with the 1024/2048 SRA encrypton key.
HISTORY LOG
Defines the sample period that Net Vision stores the measurements.
History Log Interval stores the measurements with a period defined in seconds
Extended History Log Interval stores measurements and statistics with a period defined in minutes.
27
SEND TEST
Tests e-mail configuration.
WARNING!
Before sending a test you will need to configure the SMTP server and account.
28
MAIL FORMAT
10.5-2
ENGLISH
The WOL packets are sent to servers when Net Vision detects that UPS output is powered by the inverter or bypass
again, and the UPS has no active alerts.
