    INTRODUCTION:
    This book is written by the Arthur Conan Doyle

    CHARACTER SKETCHES OF THE BOOK:


    Sherlock Holmes- Sherlock Holmes is the famed 221B Baker street detective with a
    keen eye,acute intelligence and logical mind.He is observant and deduction personified,
    we feel always his presence.In the end,he take all of his crime-solving powers to identify
    an killer and save the life of his victim,and solve the Baskerville mystery.watson reports
    and initiating investigations into stapletons background.

    Dr John Watson- Watson is Holmes assistant at Baker street and private


    investigators.He reports to Holmes by letter from Baskerville hall,help to solve the
    mystery of Baskerville,observes odd behavior of stapeltonand his sister.He also supplies
    the information that stapleton arranged Sir charless presence outside his home on the
    night that he was frightened to death by the hound.

    Sir HenryvBaskerville-Henry Baskerville,a Canadian next in line of succession to


    sir Charles.He is concerned enough to help of Holmes and advice,but he is going to
    meet Mrs.Stapleton on the moor with whom he is falling in love,In the end Holmes uses
    to spring his trap on the hound and stapleton.

    Mr.Stapleton Mr.Stapleton,actually a heir who arranged death of Sir Charles and


    death of Sir Henry.He is a passionate and a fearless explorer of Grimpen Mire.where he
    keeps the Hound.When he prepares to use it on victims,he coats it
    withphosphorous,which makes the animal glow and appear to breathe fire,And he

    insists that his wife pretend to be his sister.He dies in the mire,fleeing from holmes
    ,Watson.

    Dr Mortimer- Dr.Mortimer, a friend of sir Charles who is concerned that the family
    curse has overtaken him and will overtaken his heir.He brings Holmes the old account of
    the first appearance of the hound and the death of Hugo.

    Mrs,Stapleton-Mrs.Stapleton,who finds her Husbands scheme and she obey it .She


    tries twice to warn Sir Henry against staying in Baskerville hall,She is found beaten and
    bound by stapleton because she could no longer bear his schemes.
