Data Synchronization
Data synchronization enables you to synchronize and map data between EPM source to target
applications irrespective of the dimensionality of the application simply by selecting the source and
target EPM application, and then mapping the data.
FDMEE provides the powerful mapping features already available, the data can be easily transformed
from one application to another application.
For example, synchronizing data enables you to take the data loaded from your General Ledger to
Planning, and then transformed into budget information, back to the General Ledger.
Data synchronization enables you to create synchronizations between Financial Management, Planning,
Profitability and Cost Management, Essbase (ASO), and Essbase (BSO) as destinations, and the following
sources:
o
Financial Management
Planning
Essbase (ASO)
Essbase (BSO)
As per the ERPI admin guide at a high level, the steps to synchronize data in FDMEE include:
1. Import FormatSelect the source and target EPM System applications. The dimensional
mapping is also defined in the import format. You map the dimensions that comprise each
source and target application so that the synchronization can recognize all relevant elements.
2. Data Load RuleDefine the source filter parameters.
3. Executewhen the data rule is executed, data from the source EPM System is extracted to a
file. The data can be imported and processed using the data load workflow process.
4. Exportsynchronizes the data.

Default - for the same period granularity (Example: source month data loading to target month)
Explicit - for different period granularity (example: Source monthly data to target quarter)
d) Source Filter
This filter decides the POV for source HFM to extract the data. If you do not select any of the
Dimensions the Base member will be selected for the POV by default.

Click Add > Choose the Dimension from Dimension Name drop down
Click on Select to choose the dimension member.
I am choosing the entire dimension listed here
Target Options and Custom Options tab provides additional load details.
Click on Save
b) Click on "Like" tab. Choose "account" in Dimensions > Click Add > enter the below and Click
Save
a. Source value: *
b. Target value: Sales
c. Provide the Rule name and choose the Rule name from the Apply to Rule.
c) Same way create like mapping for all the dimensions shows in the Drop down.
Please go through the Data load mapping chapter in FDMEE admin guide for more information.

For successful import the data can be seen in the DataLoad Workbench
c) Click on Export option in the Data load workbench to export the data to Target application.

On successful export a Dat will file will be created on the FDMEE Outbox folder.
d) Open the Target application > Set the Grid > check the sync data.
a) Right click on the Cell > Drill > Drill Through Source
b) Now the Drill through Page will be created separately.
