Product
Description
A ceramic resin and special anti-corrosion pigment based self curing prefabrication coating with
outstanding white-rust resistance property.
It promotes workability to 2nd surface preparation by very good workability and resistance to heat and
rust. Welds made over Cerany IZ1990, coated steel are equal in every respect to welds joining
uncoated steel prior to fabrication. It protects the substrate from corrosion with cathodic protection
mechanism in normal and marine environments. Coated steel can be welded as quickly and easily as
bare steel at production line speeds, with no lows in strength of consistency of the weld. It has good
flexibility, excellent weather resistance and good abrasion resistance. Temperature resistance for
continuous service up to 600 /1112 , for non-continuous service up to 800 /1472 .
Approved as a Fire Retardant Coating by Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
Recommended Use
As a shop primer in shipyards, tank and structural steel fabricating shops and steel mills. It can be
also applied to insulation areas of the engine room of a vessel. It has many cost saving advantages
over conventional shop primers.
It is not recommended for exposure to acid, alkalis.

Remove any oil and grease from the surface to be coated with clean rags soaked in Thinner No. 0608.

Application Method
Spray : Use adequate air volume for correct operation. Hold gun 20 ~ 25 cm from the surface and
at a right angle to the surface. Use a 50 % overlap with each pass of the gun on irregular surfaces,
coat the edges first, making an extra pass later.

Before overcoating, remove any oil, salt, chalking material and any other contaminants on aged
coating film completely by proper cleaning method such as solvent cleaning and/or fresh water

Remarks
Cerany IZ1990 will skin if left in opened cans.

Skin has no effect on performance, but should be removed before using.
Clean tools with suitable thinner immediately after use.
Remove hardened material with 10 % caustic solution.
Keep away from sparks and open flame.
