Fibreglass Insulation
Unless otherwise indicated, supply and return ductwork shall be insulated with 48 kg/m3
density aluminium foil faced fibreglass duct insulation. The insulation shall be fastened with
adhesive of high quality and a thermal conductivity of not more than 0.037 W/m/C. The
adhesive shall be applied to the entire surface of the ductwork and insulation. Butt all joints

or sheet with a fire retardant adhesive.
Insulate flexible connections and connections to diffusers with 25 mm thick, 24 kg/m3 density
reinforced aluminium foil faced, flame resistant, flexible fibreglass insulation. Overlap onto
adjacent insulation and seal with adhesive duct tape to give good closure.
Finish insulation on ductwork by applying a 200 g/m2 canvas cover adhered between two
coats of approved fungicidal protective fire resistant lagging adhesive.
7.3.2
Unless otherwise indicated insulate supply and return ductwork with 25 mm of 35 kg/m3 nonhygnoscopic foil faced polyisocyanurate (phenolic foam) slabs.
The insulation shall be fixed by means of a non flamable adhesive recommended by the
insulation manufacturer.
Finish insulation on duct work by applying a 200 g/m2 canvas cloth cover adhered between
two coats of approved fungicidal protective fire resistant lagging adhesive.

Preinsulated Pipes
PPS employs Pipe in Pipe injection process for the manufacturing of Polyurethane
Preinsulated pipes. In this method, the Service pipes/Fittings are positioned concentrically in
the casing pipe and Polyurethane chemicals are injected in the annular space between the
pipes. Spacers are placed at regular intervals to ensure the concentricity
III.
Core and Jacket with Aluminium foil cladding is manufactured in-house. Polyurethane
chemicals are injected in the annular space between the concentrically positioned Core and
Jacket

The prime function of the Preinsulated pipe is to distribute the chilled water or any other medium
without significant temperature gaining from the surroundings
Preinsulated pipes are mainly used as the piping network to distribute chilled water from District
cooling plant
District Cooling
District cooling means the centralized production and distribution of cooling energy. Chilled water is
delivered via an underground insulated pipeline to office, industrial and residential buildings to cool
the indoor air of the buildings within a district. Specially designed units in each building then use this
water to lower the temperature of air passing through the buildings air conditioning system
How it works?
In a district cooling system, water which has been chilled to 5-8 Degree Celsius is fed from a central
plant via a network of underground pipes to buildings, where it circulates through fan coil units.
Within these units, fans blow air across coils carrying the chilled water and the air is subsequently
cooled
CR No. 1139495
Page 2
..
petromar
According to statistics, district cooling uses 40-50% less energy than traditional air conditioning
systems, which can account for as much as 70% of a building's electricity bill
Producing one ton of refrigeration using conventional air conditioning takes 1.7 kW of power,
while district cooling can consume as little as 0.85 kW per ton. This frees up considerable
amounts of energy to be used elsewhere and means new power generation capacity has to be
installed less often
Other advantages that district cooling have over air conditioning are that the systems generate
less noise; are less prone to breakdowns; and maintenance needs are considerably reduced

2. Polyurethane Insulation
Features:
Polyurethane insulation has outstanding insulation properties, which prevent heat gain / loss from
or to the surroundings
Other important characteristics include high mechanical strength, adhesion, flexibility and good
flow-ability, necessary for the consistent fill and insulation of pipe sections.
Insulation of pipes with polyurethane can result in significant energy savings. Polyurethane pipe
insulation is installed as a single layer which saves time and reduces labor costs
Polyurethane pipe insulation has very low thermal conductivity which means it need be only half as
thick as its main competitors (thereby improving ease of installation in restricted spaces)

Piping is essentially a Mode of Transport and Insulation is for the energy conservation
Effective Material Transfer and Energy Conservation (EMTEC) is the core objective of piping and its
insulation
The current market scenario is largely driven by the environmental aspects. Governments and
Authorities across the globe are issuing and following the Green guidelines so as to encourage
Sustainable development.
We, Petromar Piping Systems introduce and establish ourselves in this scenario through the perfect
blend of Products and Process which is designed to be in line with current Green Products and
Process guidelines. Not only our products are for Effective Material Transfer and Energy
Conservation (EMTEC), we manufacture those products in a Lean and Green way. Further, our
processes are designed to be with Minimal Wastage, utilizing Minimal Resources and Maximum
Recyclability.

PPS Field joints are made of the same HDPE casing pipes only and will be fitted onto the Jacket pipes
from the factory. It could be easily slide back to the position after welding & pressure testing
Since the Field Joints jackets are made of same HDPE casing, there is no requirement of site
application of heat shrink type seals.
Water repellant Silicon sealants are applied on the edges of the Field Joints & PVC Pipe Wrapping
Tape (Refer attached Data Sheet or equivalent) ensuring complete Water & Moisture tight Field Joint
insulation

End Seal for Preinsulated pipe is not just for the finished appearance of the pipe but primarily for the
protection of Polyurethane foam from any external damage whilst handling, loading, transportation
and storing and also from any external water seepage
The prime functions of End Seal is to protect the Polyurethane foam from
i.
Mechanical Damage
ii.
Water Seepage
iii.
Moisture penetration
iv.
v.
PPS employs specially designed molded caps of standard manufactured thickness which is PPS own
design which gives protection for the Polyurethane foam against any mechanical damages and water
seepage and also PPS preinsulated pipe its signature look. It is made by Polyethylene material same
as of the Jacket pipe
Strong protection, Aesthetic appearance, Perfect finish, Easy application, Compatible with all Service
pipe materials, Recyclable PE material, Maintains concentricity of Service pipe & Jacket pipe
CR No. 1139495

Another main advantage of PPS End cap is that it not only protect the Polyurethane foam, but acts as
the protection cap for the Service pipe from any dust or dirt, completely covering the face of the
service pipe.
