Ws Watsons Cricklettertomom b6

James Watson or Francis Crick writes a 250+ word letter to their mother about discovering the structure of DNA. They describe working with colleagues like Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin, whose X-ray crystallography findings helped reveal that DNA has a double helix structure with nucleotides that pair together through hydrogen bonds between bases. They explain that this discovery solved the mystery of how genetic information is passed down and will transform the fields of biology, genetics and medicine.

Watsons or Cricks Letter to Mom

Pretend that you are either James Watson or Francis Crick and it is two days
after you have discovered the structure of DNA. Write a letter to your mother (at
least 250 words). Your letter will be graded on the following:

Telling Mom about the people that youve been working with, and the people
that helped to contribute to your findings (Include all the scientist along
with their findings included in your lecture notes)30 pts
Telling Mom about the specifics of what you have discovered; to include the
categories and structures of the nucleotides, bonding, and base pairing (be
specific but make sure a non-scientist can understand it)50 pts
Telling Mom about the significance of your discovery (why is your discovery
important?)20 pts
