SAE NIS EVENTS

(Theme: Recent/Futuristic Trends in the


Automotive Sector)

Event: Invited talks (STAGE)


Experts from all sectors of automobile industry will be invited for a short
discourse of their in-depth knowledge. Students will get firsthand knowledge
from these top notch professionals of their fields. Bringing in speakers with
proven expertise ensures that the students receive maximum exposure to
industry standards as well as acquaint them with the near future technologies

Organizing steps:
Inviting total of 4 6 experts
Communicating with them the proper time, location of the event along with
agenda of the talks, and other queries; as well as how the session will proceed.
Time allocated per speaker (15-20 mins)
Deciding on a moderator who will introduce the speaker as well keep account
of the time per speaker.

Event: Automotive Quiz (OLD AUDITORIUM)


A total of 3 teams would be held including 2 Questionnaire rounds and 1
Buzzer round .A maximum of 60 teams would be accepted.
1st Questionnaire round 30 teams would be selected
2nd Questionnaire round 10 teams would be selected
3rd Buzzer round Distinguish the top 2 teams
Cash Prizes would be given to the top 2 teams .Participation Certificates
would be given.
Rules and regulations
1. Maximum of 3 teams per college.

2. Maximum of two members per team.

3. Any type of malpractice would lead to disqualification of the team.

4. Discretion of decision making lies with the hosts.

5. Other rules would be mentioned on the spot

Judging Criteria
Teams with highest score qualify subsequently.

How to go about:
Setting up Net/4G hotspot/ Lending phone to who so ever needs one.

Displaying the Google form link and making sure everyone opens it.

Questions to be switched every 10 seconds in round 1 and 15 seconds


in round 2

Declaration of results and seating of dormant teams.

Setting up tables of Buzzer round.(10)

Distribution of prizes and merit certificates.

Distribution of participation certificates.

Event: Sketching (EG LAB 1A 3RD FLOOR)


60 Teams each consisting of 1-2 members would be given a chance to
showcase their ideas on the given theme. The theme will be declared
on the spot.
The event will take place in the EG labs.

Rules and Regulations


1. Short summary about what the drawing depicts
2. The judges decision will be final
3. The sketch must be original, unpublished works that does not contain,
incorporate or otherwise use any content, material or element that is
owned by a third party or entity.
4. No extra time will be given to any team.
5. The material will be provided to the teams.
6. The teams must get their own stationery ( scale, protractors and
drafters are not allowed)

Judging Criteria
1. Precision to the idea
2. Originality
3. Relevance to topic
4. Creativity (interpretation of the theme)

How to go about the event


1. The participants will be directed to the EG labs at least half an hour
before the event starts
2. The teams will be given the materials upon arrival.
3. The topic will be on the spot.
4. Once the time is over, the sheets will be collected and given to the
judges.
5. The judgement will be announced at the same time.
6. Participation certificates would be given before students leave.

Event: Project Expo (TENTS)


Objective
It is an endeavor to foster and enhance the culture of scientific inquiry and
its relevance in real world applications and underline the strong connection
among student community. The project Expo is conducted with the below
mentioned themes. Best projects will be rewarded based on the regulations
for competition given below
Regulations for Selection of Project
The projects can be in any field or area, but must come under the
purview of the above mentioned theme.
Participants should mail their Abstract / proposal preferably in '.doc' or
'.pdf' ' format
All entries of abstract will be scrutinized by a committee and the final
selected entries/participants will be informed via email as per the given
schedule of dates.
Participants are also required to mention at the beginning of their
abstracts, if they have a picture or a prototype / model, readily
available.
A brief idea of how the design could be presented (exhibited) during
the exhibition should also be included in the abstracts.

General Rules and Guidelines for competition


Each team can have maximum of 4 members.
The competition is open to only undergraduate students including
Diploma.
Members should have a valid student ID card of their
college/university.
A team member can participate in only one project presentation

Regulations for competition and display of Project


Student taking part in project exhibition event should follow certain rules
regarding the event.
1) The project for competition must be displayed and presented with a poster
in A1 size
2) The poster should contain a simple description about their project. The
candidates can take help of following points to describe their project in the
chart.
Points:
Introduction
Block diagram
Working principle.
Its advantage and disadvantages
Future Work

3) The poster must be prepared in the given format which will be sent to you
in due course.
4) Teams will be given a space to set up their model/design at the venue for
exhibition and for judging.
5) A detailed report in support of the design and highlighting the important
aspects should also be sent. The report will be considered for judging

Important note:
All selected participants will receive participation certificate.
Main event will be held on where selected projects will be displayed
by participants.
Basic requirement i.e., electric power supply will be made available to
participants as per requirement of project.
Participants should bring all their requirements, if anything is required
it should be specified along with the abstract
The decision of the judges shall be treated as final and binding.
The organizers reserve the rights to change any or all of the above
rules as they deem fit. Any change in the rules, will be notified to the
registered participants.

Design (Compactness and the efficiency of work done)
Efficiency (Performance of said task)
Degree of specified task accomplished
Hardware/Mechanical Efficiency
Relevance with practical need
