Clino Systevo System Description
General
Clino Systevo is designed as a information and communication platform for care facilities. The flexible architecture
supports a highly efficient organization - from a simple nurse call system to a fully integrated care management system.
This System is the scalable communications system of Ackermann by Honeywell to meet all requirements ranging from
conventional optoacoustic call systems to highly integrated system solutions with digital speech transmission and multime-
dia at the patient's or resident's bedside. The System complies with current standards and specifications for call systems
as stipulated in DIN VDE 0834: 2000-04.
System concept
Based on the proven Clino Phon 99 concept, the system is largely downwards compatible and allows for long-term
migration of the Clino Opt 99 and Clino Phon 95 systems. In addition to conventional call system features, the System
provides further functions for process support as well as contactless personalized system control (e.g. activation of
presence) and cost-efficient integration of alternative maintenance and support concepts care / nursing homes, patient
hotels as well as for in-house/home emergency call systems. Besides easy start up, the option of networking stations via
the IP network as well as connection via the public telephone network are new performance features which facilitate
planning, set-up and servicing of the System. The system that is designed for maximum safety and error tolerance is based
on a 3-level hierarchy:
Room level
Operating, control and display elements (call push-button, cancel push-button, bed module, corridor lamp, etc.) to single
rooms are connected directly or via the bed databus to the respective room electronics such as room terminals and
electronic modules. The bed databus connects the active components in the rooms such as the bed electronics, the RFID
module, the call modules and the display modules. In addition to simple installation, the bed databus provides configurable
individual identification of messages and calls. Passive call elements such as call push-buttons, pull switches and cancel
push-buttons with quiescent current monitoring are connected directly to the room electronic modules and room terminals.
Floor level
Room electronics as well as components for entire floors like corridor displays, direction lamps, interface units, etc. are
connected via the corridor databus to the respective zone controller. Up to 127 modules such as information displays,
electronic modules and room terminals can be connected to the corridor databus. The total number of addressable
modules per corridor databus is limited to a maximum of 255 including all bed databus modules (bed electronics, call
modules, display modules, etc.).
Building level
Control panels such as Systevo Control as well as central devices, system interfaces (e.g. to hazard alert systems, alarm
servers, paging systems and telecommunications systems) are connected with each other via the ward databus. Several
Systevo Control can also be linked via Ethernet. Up to 64 Systevo Control can be operated in a system, so that a theoretical
system size of more than 8,000 rooms divided into 6 logical zones per Systevo Control (nursing areas) can be realized,
which equals up to 250 logical zones per control center. The ward databus devices monitor each other, the components
connected via the corridor databus and themselves to provide maximum system stability.
Horizontal networking (at room and floor level) of the system is performed primarily via the reliable communication databus
of the call system, which provides for efficient setup. Vertical networking of the zone controllers can be performed either
using the proven POF/HCS fiber optic networks or via standard IP networks (IEEE802.3). This makes it possible to set up
networks throughout buildings or a campus. With its logical monitoring of the implemented infrastructure and the system
components as well as its use of distributed intelligence, the System always provides maximum safety.
Features
The System is set up as an information and communication platform for professional nursing facilities and supports the
nursing organization with reliable and convenient process support system technology. It is modular and scalable. It
includes a full range of options which can be extended subsequently from optoacoustic call signalization and configurable
plain text displays to systems for digital voice communication and mobile call handling. The available system interfaces
permit integration of almost all alarm and security systems, thus providing the nursing staff with a homogeneous informati-
on medium, in which responsibilities, priorities and escalation routines are stored for the respective service situations and
can easily be displayed by the nursing staff. The high level of user acceptance is based on the excellent security, the
functions supporting the nursing process and the intuitive operating concepts.

(discrete / hands-free) is possible in connection with the patient handset with telephony 2
service in order to communicate with the nursing staff. Services such as speech (VoETH),
telephone functions (VoIP / SIP) and future value-added services are offered at the point of
care via the DSL infrastructure. This DSL infrastructure also requires central control units.
3
The Wall Module Smart is connected to a room controller by an individual call input line to
identify the specific point of care. Up to two light sources and a TV can be controlled via
separate control outputs.
If the pre-defined load on the handsets connection cable is exceeded, the patient handset 4

Clino Guard System description
Clino Guard is a real-time localisation and tracking system for people and things.
Simple but effective
provides efficient support to those in need of care. The system is used in virtual protected
zones, where the patients as well as the nursing staff, visitors and other inhabitants can
move freely without being restricted or blocked. This increases the quality of living of
people needing care and provides the best possible safety. This reduces the expenses on
the nursing staff and thus has a positive effect on the entire work atmosphere.
The system mainly consists of three components: the tracking hardware (transmitter and
receiver unit), the software and the RFID transponders.
The communication between the transponders and the receiver units is bi-directional and
facilitates real-time localisation. Here, the transmitters send information about position to
the transponder. The transponder sends this information to the receiver unit along with its
own fixed identification. Escalation stages allowing various alarm scenarios are stored in
the Clino Guard plus software.
Well-defined protected zones
The transmitters generate a circular detection field of approximately 5 m radius within the
buildings. In order to cover large areas of up to 375 m2, a master transmitter is simply
replaced by several slave units. The receiver units record the data of transponders in a
radius of 25 m and up to 250 m in open areas.
In this way, all desired zones are well secured.
Application In the simplest case, a transceiver unit is installed in the door area, which
produces a low-frequency, spherical detection field with a radius of max. 6 m. When
required, additional antennas are used that allow optimum adaptation to the structural
conditions. The transponders of the patients and the nursing staff are assigned to the
transceiver unit.
If one of the transponders comes into the detection field, it transmits its identifier. The
transmitted identifier is evaluated by the unit: If it concerns a patient transponder, there is a
reaction and e.g. a call in the switched on call system is triggered, if desired logged and
signaled at the respective site according to the deposited allocation. A forwarding of the
alarm as SMS, Voicemail and the like is also possible.
The call does not occur when a nursing transponder is detected individually or in combina
tion with a patient transponder. If necessary other activities, however, can also be assigned:
Thus, for example, door locks or elevator controls can be connected. In addition to
personal security, the system can of course be used also for device security and device
logistics. Thanks to the modular system approach, flexible solutions with centralized tech
nology are possible for crosslinking transceiver units. Then the configuration and alloca
tion of device settings is done comfortably with the help of a graphic user interface. There
fore, varied applications are possible. These range from run direction detection up to the
implementation of specific monitoring, identification and signaling applications.
The components listed in the catalog are only a selection of frequently used items. For special
items, especially crosslinked systems, a huge number of additional components are available,
with which even the most complex safety solutions can be implemented. Detailed information on
this is available upon request.

Clino Call DECTplus System description
With Clino Call DECTplus, a wireless communication solution is available that was clearly
extended concerning its expansion options as well as concerning the functionalities.
Optimally, the system can be adapted via analogous PBX extensions or by VoIP/SIP inter
face to existing PABX systems and supplements these by the mobile alarm functionality
and the wireless DECT telephony. Via a standardized interface, the communication system
is connected with the existing call system: Calls are indicated immediately in the displays
of the mobile devices. Through the allocation of different priorities and ringtones, the
nursing staff can immediately detect the importance of an incoming call alarm without
having to pick up the mobile terminal device.
With Clino Call DECTplus, additional communication systems are superfluous since the
nursing staff can use the advantages of the mobile voice communication and the SMS
services via one single terminal device. For office applications, alternative terminal devices
can also be used.

Media solutions
Today, for health care facilities, it is now more important than ever to be meeting the
growing demands of patients with additional services. The selection of the hospital or the
nursing facility is increasingly directed on individual patient needs. That's why the service
offer, beside the medical and nursing care, continuously gains significance. Television,
radio, Video-On-Demand and Internet access are an important service module in this
context and an economic possibility for the image enhancement of a facility, not only as an
elective service offer.
For patients, the individual program selection and the free access to different communica

Standalone systems System description
General
To give disabled people the opportunity to call for help in public buildings when on the
toilet, a call release possibility must be installed in these spaces. A triggered call it is visu
ally and acoustically signaled, for example, to the doorman or the employees of the control
panel in this building. Therefore, assistance for disabled people is guaranteed.
The call compact set is the ideal solution for this application case. As a complete system
with pull switch, stop motion and control electronics as well as a power pack for the elec
tricity supply, these components are perfectly coordinated with each other. The installation
of the call compact set is very easy and can be carried out quickly.
Functional description
A call triggered by the disabled people by means of pull switch is acknowledged by illumin
ation of the integrated reassurance lamp and displayed at the room signal lamp arranged
outside of the toilet. The duty room unit installed on the control panel or in a day room
visually signals the call to the responsible staff through illumination of a red pilot lamp and
acoustically through a buzzing sound. The triggered call can be acknowledged on the duty
room unit, i.e. the acoustic alarm is suppressed for a certain time. Only in the toilet, the call
is canceled by pressing the Cancel button. If an acknowledged call should not be canceled
in the toilet, the acoustic signaling is automatically switched on again.
