3. Switch the machine on, and use the pressure regulator for adjusting the
Air Supply at the MCO System. It must be 2bar for all kind of Ink-Pads
except Mobile Printys (Those should be adjusted at 1,6bar). After that use
the four push buttons to release or vent the Air out of all color tubes. The
letters on each button confer to the letters on the X-Axis and Inking-Head
(Please pay attention to this, example: if the Button A at the Air-Distributor
pushed the Color at the Nozzle A will run-out and so on) use a paper-cup
or Bottle for venting the Air out of each Nozzle until a few drops of color
come out and there are no air bubbles inside the color tubes.

4.1 Installation and usage of MciCheck
MCI Check is an Add on-Application to CorelDRAW and provides useful functionality in order to
create stamps with Trotec Multicolor Option (MCO) Technology. MCI Check helps you to make sure
producing error free multicolor stamps.
The software adds functionality to CorelDRAW allowing you to analyze the current typesetted
CorelDRAW stamp document if it can be produced with Trotec Multicolor Option Technology. MCI
Check will show locations directly in your stamp document where problems with multiple colors
could occur. It is also able to automatically resolve distance errors resulting from elements having
different colors and located too close. In addition to this the software is able to check for invalid
colors and to create spool files for dies and pads which can be transferred to TrotecManager
software or sent by E-Mail to a Marking Center or rubber stamp maker. MCI Check is also able to
connect to uTypia web shops and send orders directly.
4.1.1 Installation
If you have checked the system requirements you are ready to install the MCI Check as follows:

The distance reduction mechanism is intendent
to help experienced users to test the layout with
an reduced distance parameter set. Please
keep in mind that this reduced distance

Layout colors
The allowed colors are determined by
the MCI version property of general

there are 4 immutable predefined
colors supported. In the case of MCI2
there 18 predefined immutable colors
supported. These 18 predefined
colors are supported by Trodat and
subject to change. In the later case
there are also user defined colors
supported. These colors can be
maintained by Trotec JobControl
users only. Please refer to
JobControl documentation for further
information on this topic. Please pay
attention to the fact that a job which
has been created with MCI2 version
may cause an error message on a
MCI1 machine. Depending on the
current MCI version parameter
different color tables and color
palettes are shown.

Online Ordering
If you want MCI Check to automatically send the spoolfile to a Marking Center or Rubber Stamp
maker please activate the Online order support option. If the online support is selected no spool
files will be created in the spool file folder specified in the general settings tab.
Please select the type of online order by clicking on E-Mail or uTypia radio box.
By E-Mail
Activate E-Mail option. Select the
order description from the
combobox Selection. Please
note: If Hide data content is
activated only Pad is available in
the combobox Selection. Specify
a quantity and ordernumber in the
textfields Quantity: and Order:.
If necessary the E-Mail template
data can be changed by clicking
on the button .
If the E-Mail option has been enabled the spoolfiles are not created in the spoolfile directory but
copied into an E-Mail template. MCI Check will show the E-Mail template immediately after creating
the spoolfile. The recipients E-Mail address, the Subject line and the E-Mails body text is filled by
your E-Mail template data specified in the Settings dialog. The E-Mail address can be changed
manually before sending the E-Mail. You can add text to the E-Mail body or change the Subject
line, too. The button Send will send the E-Mail to the specified recipient. If you press Cancel the
whole process is aborted and no E-Mail will be sent.
To uTypia webshop:
Activate uTypia option. Select the order description from the combobox Selection. Please note: If
Hide data content is activated only Pad is available in the combobox Selection. The article no
field is already filled with data from the CorelDRAW template used to create the spool file. Now
enter the quantity to order.
Activate the option Direct Checkout if you want to finish your order without showing your basket on
screen. If this option is disabled MCi Check will open Internet Explorers browser window showing
your current webshop basket content. In this case you have to finish the order by using the web
interface of the webshop basket.
The option Test will not create a new entry in your basket table but sends the data to the webshop
only.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If MCI Check identified a distance error (Error 5004 as well as Error 5006) the software will enable
the button and you can start the automatic error resolving process. The error location is
analyzed and the elements are moved in such a way that the blending of pad colors is avoided. MCI
Check tries to minimize the visible layout changes resulting from element movement. In some
cases - especially when the elements have been moved pretty far - manual corrections of the layout
could be necessary.
Please note that the resolving time increases with the number of elements laying on the current
stamp document.
The best resolving results can be achieved by paying attention to the following hints:
Do not convert text into curves before all MCI errors have been resolved. If text is
converted into curves earlier, in some cases single characters are moved when
resolving the error and not the whole text which is the desired behaviour normally.
Always group shapes which belong together (e.g. a logo consisting of shapes of the
same color).
Deactivate the option Ungroup elements before optimizing if you want to make sure
that your grouped elements stay together and are moved as group. Otherwise MCI
Check will treat each sub element as single object and moves sub parts.
After resolving an error it is recommended to analyze the document again in order to make sure
that the document does not contain any other MCI problems.

Optimization example
Based on the layout below some optimization steps will be shown. In this example a valid layout will
be changed in the way that it becomes an invalid one. The present layout will be manipulated in
order to produce several different errors. We will see that several iteration steps will be necessary in
order to solve distance error 5004. Also we will be able to solve distance error 5004 we will see that
the optimization of the present layout will lead to another error 5006.
The main aim of this present example should be to show the method of operation regarding
optimization feature. As well as it should point out the limitations of the optimization feature.
Although we want be able to solve the distance error through optimization all together we will
receive useful information regarding the error locations.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It is important that room temperature is between 20 and 24 celsius while doing this
alignment. Ink must have the same temperature.
Create four MCO jobs with just one colour. Each job with a different MCO colour.
Run the jobs separately and adjust the inking duration per colour until the pads have the
required weight. See table below. Weights in gram!
If weight is too much decrease the inking duration. Increase inking duration if there is too
less ink in the pad.
Due to different viscosity of the colours it is necessary to repeat this for each of the four
colours.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It is not recommended to use the MCO if room temperature is above 24C or below 20C!
An air conditioned environment helps to prevent from difficulties while lasering or inking and
ensures constant quality.
Problem: Colors get mixed up while/after inking
Solution: Ensure that the MCO pad foam is cut all the way to the bottom of the MCO pad.
It's even better that the MCI pad holder/Frame is scratched on the bottom.
You can adjust the cutting Power as shown below in JobControl:
