    PC Inspection & Test Record

    PC-J-94 Instrument Loop Check (Analogue Output)

    1. PRE POWERING UP CHECKS
    1.01 Check that all loop components on the loop diagram are calibrated ie: calibration certificates
    included in loop package.
    1.02 Ensure Pre-commissioning Work package contains sufficient information to proceed with the
    Loop Test.
    1.03 Check with System Responsible Comm Engineer that associated equipment is ready for
    testing.
    1.04 Ensure all outputs indicated on C and E's are Inhibited and logged in the Inhibit and Jumper
    Register.
    1.05 If packaged device (serial connection) ensure that system interface PC-I-10 has been
    completed.
    2. RECORD DETAILS and PARAMETERS
    2.01 Instrument / Device Type.
    2.02 Out Put Range.
    2.03 Engineering Units.
    2.04 Close knife terminals and verify that loop is healthy (not in fault condition)
    2.05 Verify engineering data on top of PCL and datasheet. Note: if any of above data is not in
    accordance with the design, an Engineering Query is to be raised to clarify the discrepancy.
    3. LOOP CHECK -ANALOGUE OUTPUT
    3.01 Carry out loop check I.A.W approved procedure
    3.02 Ensure test equipment is calibrated. Record details below.
    3.03 Record output device position at 0 % -4mA.
    3.04 Record output device position at 25% -8mA.
    3.05 Confirm output device position at 50% -12mA.
    3.06 Confirm output device position at 75% -16mA.
    3.07 Verify output device position at 100% -20mA.
    3.08 Verify correct action (reverse or direct action).
    3.09 Verify correct operation by Vendor if Packaged device.
    3.10 Verify / carry out associated position switch (limit) loop checks in association with this test.
    Confirm indication on ICSS or Vendor Package when output device is in open position.
    3.11 Verify / complete operation of any inline ESD solenoids loops whilst carrying out this test.
    3.12 Verify "fail Safe" action by removing air supply from device is correct and Record.
    3.13 Verify "Fail Safe" action by opening output knife terminal and Record Position.
    3.14 Verify alarm recording.
    3.15 Verify event recording.
    3.16 Verify Group Alarm is operates.
    4. COMPLETION OF LOOP CHECKS
    4.01 Re-instate any Process Isolation's.
    4.02 Re-instate any permanent preservation.
    4.03 Attach Loop Tested Tag to device.
    4.04 With approval from System Responsible Comm Engineer, remove associated Inhibits and
    sign off in Inhibit and Jumper Register.
