    The Soft Spot

    Effect: The magician shows a bottle, and a cap. He shows the cap does not
    fit inside the bottle, so to get it inside he slams it from the back of the
    bottle and surprisingly the cap goes right through and inside the bottle.
    He shows no holes in the bottle, and gives it out for the spectator to keep
    forever as a souvenir.

    Materials: You need a duplicate cap with a tiny bit of wax in the middle of
    it (also anything like a gum or double sided tape would work fine), a 20
    oz. Gatorade bottle, and a pair of clamps or pliers. Also the plastic Snapple
    bottles work as well, although Gatorade is more ideal.

    Preparation: You need to use the pliers to bend the cap and shove it inside
    the bottle, its fairly easy just make sure you dont bend the cap too much
    that it stays bent inside the bottle. Also you can try doing it by hand
    which is hard at first but if you squeeze while your shoving through the
    top you can try to put it through. Once you got the cap inside your
    going to try to balance the cap right at the end of the curve of the
    Gatorade bottle. If youre using Gatorade rain then you would want to
    balance it on the left hand side of the label if youre right handed.

    are six indents or ovals on the bottle,
    the cap pinches in between these ovals
    as seen in FIG 5, 6 in the clear bottle. If
    youre using a Gatorade Rain bottle
    than you would want to balance it on
    the left of the nutrition label (FIG 4),
    because thats where you have cover to
    hit the duplicate cap, against, but with
    normal bottles it doesnt matter where
    its placed, because they are not clear
    like the rain

    Method: You hold the bottle with your left hand (if youre right handed)
    covering the cap with your hand so it seems that the bottle is empty. Take
    the duplicate cap with the wax in the middle of it and hide the wax with
    your middle or index finger and slam it against the back of the bottle,
    make sure you slam it on the label, hiding the cap as it sticks behind the
    label, as it knocks off the cap inside the bottle, looking like you just
    through inside the bottle.

    Then you can show both hands clearly empty turn the bottle over if you
    wish making sure not to flash that duplicate cap. Then put the bottle into
    the left hand as you palm the cap off. Turn the back of your left hand
    facing the spectator as you can also turn the bottle showing no holes.

    Casually put your left hand down and give it to them to keep as souvenir.
    Than ditch the cap inside your pocket while they examine the bottle.
    Other Handlings: You can also slam it in if youre surrounded, and if you
    have people looking overhead. You can also toss it inside with an
    underhand motion.

    Have the cap balanced on


    the back of the bottle as
    you hold the bottle down
    at a 45 degree angle. The
    spectator wont see the cap
    when they are standing in
    front of you. The label hides
    it.

    Throw the cap underhand inside the


    left palm as you angle the bottle
    down, letting the cap fall giving the
    illusion that u just tossed it inside.

    After you throw it in you can show


    the cap inside, to the spectator, as u
    cover it with you left hand. You can
    also put wax on the cap, and than
    stick it on with the left if you wish to
    show your hands empty. Otherwise
    you can just show it empty and than
    palm it off and give it away for them
    to keep.
