Transforming Care Masterclass

Developing Knowledge and Skills in Work
with Care and Treatment Reviews

What is this?
Transforming Care is work that the NHS and other
groups are doing to improve services for people with
a learning disability, autism or both. The
Transforming Care work wants to make sure people
are living in their communities with the right support
for them.
This is the 4th Transforming Care Masterclass for
people who are working on the Transforming Care
work.
This masterclass will:

Allow people to hear from people with lived

experience about what worked well for them
and what could have been better.
Build the skills you need to deliver excellent
CTRs, including how to write positive action
plans, how to move people forward along their
pathway to the community and how to prevent
admissions into hospitals.
People who attend will hear about what has
worked elsewhere and understand how this
has happened.
It will include:

An introduction to the new CTR policy by the

national team.
An overview of Care, Education and
Treatment Reviews.
Working with adult in-patient CTRs
Working with Community CTRs
Skills and knowledge for Experts by
Experience lessons learnt

The sessions will be led by experienced

practitioners, such as Gavin Harding and Anne
Webster from NHS England and Liz Zijlstra-Rutter
and Helen Van Ristell from Community Transitions.
They will share their knowledge and support you to
further develop your own good practice.

Who should attend?

We would like this session to be attended by
community health and social care professionals who
support CTRs, commissioners leading CTRs,
experts by experience and clinical reviewers, and
hospital providers who are working directly with
people being reviewed. Other people who work with
people under the CTR process are welcome.
This workshop will take place on
19th July in York

Registration from 09.30am with the session

10.00am to 4.30pm

There are 75 places available for this workshop. If
