Multimedia involves integrating various digital media types, including text, graphics, video, audio, and more. It has various applications including multimedia presentations to enhance student learning, entertainment uses in games and films, software training without an instructor, improving business communications, and making websites more attractive and user-friendly with multimedia features. A storage area network (SAN) provides block-level storage access across a network, while a network-attached storage (NAS) device is a file server dedicated only to file sharing without other server functions. Fonts can be categorized as serif, which have tails or embellishments at the end of strokes, and sans-serif, which do not.

What is Multimedia and its application?
Multimedia is the field concerned with the computer-controlled integration of
text, graphics, drawings, still and moving images (Video), animation, audio, and any other media where every type of information can be represented, stored, transmitted and processed digitally. Hypermedia can be considered as one of the multimedia applications. Application of multimedia: - 1. Multimedia presentation: Multimedia presentation can be used to better explain a subject matter to the students because it enhances the comprehension capability of students. 2. Entertainment: Multimedia technology is used by entertainment industry as in games, films, cartoons, animation, sound effects etc. 3. Software: Multimedia is used for training purpose or guide. So users can operate software without help of trainers. 4. Business communication: Multimedia is very powerful tool for enhancing the quality of business communication. 5. Multimedia web pages: Multimedia feature in web pages make more attractive, user friendly. Explain the concept of Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage(NAS)? A storage area network (SAN) is a secure high-speed data transfer network that provides access to consolidated block-level storage. An SAN makes a network of storage devices accessible to multiple servers. SAN devices appear to servers as attached drives, eliminating traditional network bottlenecks A network-attached storage (NAS) device is a server that is dedicated to nothing more than file sharing. Network-attached storage does not provide any of the activities that a server in a server-centric system typically provides, such as email, authentication or file management. Explain Different Types of families and faces of fonts? A font faces or font family is the typeface that will be applied by a web browser to some text. The font is relevant for the display of text on the screen, on a printer or another device. Font faces can be divided into two main categories: serif and sans serif Serif: Serif or Roman, typefaces are named for the features at the ends of their strokes. Times New Roman and Garamond are common Examples of Serif Typefaces. Sans-Serif Sans serif designs appeared relatively recently in the history of type design. The evolution of the sans serif font very likely stemmed from the slab serif font. Glyphs is sans-serif fonts, as the term is used in CSS, have stroke endings that are plain, without any flaring, cross stroke, or other ornamentation. Fonts: A computer font is an electronic data file containing a set of glyphs, characters, or symbols such as dingbats.
What is sound and how is it digitized?
Sound is a wave phenomenon like light, but is macroscopic and involves molecules of air being compressed and expanded under the action of some physical device. Digitization means conversion to a stream of numbers, and preferably these numbers should be integers for efficiency. To digitize, the signal must be sampled in each dimension: in time and in amplitude. Explain different Audio File Formats? An audio file format is a file format for storing audio data on a computer system. It can be a raw bit stream, but it is usually a container format or an audio data format with defined storage layer. Types of formats There are three major groups of file formats 1. Uncompressed audio formats, such as WAV, AIFF, AU or raw header less PCM; 2. Formats with lossless compression such as FLAC, Monkeys Audio (File Extension APE), WavPack, Toms Lossless Audio, Windows Media Audio Lossless (WMA Lossless) etc. 3. Formats with lossy compression, such as Mp3, Vorbis, AAC and lossy Windows Media Audio (WMA). What is Image processing? Image processing is a physical process used to convert and image signal into a physical image. The image can either be digital or analog. The actual output itself can be an actual physical image or the characteristics of an image. The Most common type of image processing is photography. In this process, an image is captured using a camera to create a digital or analog image. In order to produce a physical picture, the image is processed using the appropriate technology based on the input source type. Explain the use Image editing software? Listed below are some of the most used capabilities of the Image editing software. Selection: once of the prerequisites for many of the applications mentioned below is a method of selecting part(s) of an image, thus applying a change selectively without affecting the entire image. Layers: Layers are analogous to sheets of transparent acetate, stacked on top of each other, each capable of being individually positioned, altered and blended with the layers below, without affecting any of the elements on the other layers. Image Size Alteration: Image editors can resize image in a process often called image scaling, making them larger or smaller. Cropping an Image: Digital Editors are used to crop images. Cropping create a new image by selecting a desired rectangular portion from the image being cropped. The unwanted part of the image is discarded.
