The purpose of a CFS model is to move schools and education systems progressively
towards quality standards, addressing all elements that infl uence the wellbeing and rights
of the child as a learner and the main benefi ciary of teaching, while improving other school
functions in the process.
It is concerned with harnessing the full involvement and support of all parties in a position
to facilitate childrens right to a quality education.

The scope of a CFS model includes multidimensional coverage of quality and a holistic
concern for the childs needs.
It is concerned as much with the health, safety, security, nutritional status and
psychological well-being of the child as they are with teacher training and the
appropriateness of the teaching methods and learning resources used for schooling.
They have as much to do with promoting child participation and creating space for children
to express their views and opinions as they do with helping children learn to follow rules
and regulations or show deference to school authorities.
The concepts was inspired by the principles of child rights

It attracts and retain children from different backgrounds, respects diversity and ensures
non discrimination.
