WHO WE ARE
Micmar is a chain of hardware shops in Zambia.
We offer a variety of quality product ranges for

COMPANY HISTORY
Micmar Investments Ltd. opened its first store on

Lumumba Road, Lusaka in 1994. The store broke
the pattern of smaller hardware shops in the town
centre by introducing a big box store concept with an
unbeaten variety of product ranges, available at highly
competitive prices.
Two more stores were opened in Kitwe and Ndola

within the following 2 years. In 2014 Micmar opened
a fourth store on Chachacha Road in Lusaka and in
2015 a fifth store was opened in Kalingalinga. There
are currently plans for more store openings in Solwezi,
Choma and Kafue.
Over the years Micmar has also invested in other

related and non-related industries such as wood
processing, copper processing, and property
development.
While we have made adjustments to our product

ranges, updated our stores, and ventured into new
businesses, our mission remains the same: To offer
the confidence of quality products and consistency of
service through a passionate and never-ending strive
towards satisfying our customers needs better than
anyone in the country.
Micmar remains family owned by founder Roman

Kroupnik and his son Michael Kroupnik, and run
alongside a strong management team.

OUR INVESTMENTS
Kroupwood Company
Kroupwood Co was established in 2004 to serve the growing demand from abroad for Zambian
hardwood products. The company has grown from an exporter of processed timber into the lead-
ing manufacturer of hardwood products such as solid doors, flooring, decking, mouldings, etc. The
factory occupies over 6,000sqm in the Light Industrial Area of Lusaka and employs over 200
people directly and indirectly in Lusaka and the Western Province, where the majority of the timber
is sourced.
Kroup Mining & Processing

Kroup Mining & Processing was established in 2008 with the idea to produce top quality products
from Zambias number one commodity, Copper. The manufacturing plant is situated in Solwezi,
North Western Province and is expected to be commissioned in 2016, after which pure LME-grade
copper cathodes will be produced from locally sourced copper ore. Expansion plans include further
processing of the end product into copper products such as cables and other related items.
Property Development
Micmar ventured into property development in 2010. Our first project was an office complex called
Trinity Office Park in the Mass Media area of Lusaka. This comprised of approximately 3200sqm of
modern office space with high profile, grade A tenants such as Ernst &Young, JTI and Mopani Cop-
per Mines. This successful project led to a bigger modern office complex along Great East Rd in Lu-
saka called Pangaea Office Park, where approximately 10,000 sqm was built for office space rental
purposes. Again the quality of the project attracted highly reputable firms such as Huawei, Hollard
Insurance, Focus Financial Group, Pangaea Securities and Hai Telecom amongst others. Both prop-
erties are now sold. Other projects in the pipeline include a mixed-use development of over 17,000
sqm in Lusaka as well as a shopping mall in Solwezi offering over 9,000 sqm of retail space.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Micmar is deeply invested in our employees and the communities in
which we work. Education and skills development are issues that we
believe have the opportunity to make a lasting positive impact.
At Micmar and its affiliates, we work to create sustainable jobs and train
our employees to further them in their careers. Health and safety issues
are regularly highlighted and enforced in the workplace. We have built
safe and welcoming work environments, to maximise the well being of all
employees.
In addition, we are involved with and support several charities that work
with education and training of youth to build better livelihoods. We donate
to the following organisations:
Cheshire Divine Providence Home
Serving the elderly, disabled and orphans with shelter and health care.
Mother Theresa Missionaries of Charity
A centre in Lusaka that provides an orphanage, school, and hospice care

for the poorest of the poor.
Mazabuka Catholic Girls Schools
A centre in Mazabuka which furthers education of young girls.
Mukwashi Trust School
Providing quality education to rural children.
