E1 overview:

E1 carrier signal at 2Mbps (2048 Kbps), it has 32 channels at 64kbps, with 2 channels reserved
for signaling and controlling.

1 E1 …. (2048 Kbps) Support -------> 12 TRX

0.5 (half E1) …. (1024Kbps) Support-------> 6 TRX
Quarter E1 …. (512Kbps) Support-------> 3 TRX
Note that: each TRX has 8-time slots.

In OMCR if one E1 is being used then the RX and TX bitrate would be 3072, If two 6144 and if
three 9216 and it goes on like this.

Site Types:
There are three types of sites:

1-Version 2: BS20 cabinet it has TRM or TRME boards, each one mean 1 TRX. inside and only
can modified from OMCR because it’s not SDR and its transmission is by only E1.

If the site is for example TRI031 it means 900MHz but if it is TRI031D it means 1800MHz also for
the figure in the left it has three cells each one 4 carriers S4/4/4.
2-Version 3: B8112 it has a DTRU boards, each two boards mean 1 TRX and only can modified
from OMCR because it’s not SDR and its transmission is by only E1.

B8018 it has a DTRU boards, each two boards mean 1 TRX and only can modified from OMCR
because it’s not SDR and its transmission is by only E1.

3-Version 4: It’s a SDR site and it has OMCR and OMCB, some of radio configuration is done
through OMCR but all the other is through OMCB and its transmission by E1, EOIP or IP.
Types of SDR RSU and Cells:
We have three types:

1. RSU 60 E it’s a single or multi carrier RF and this device has one channel and can support
GSM, UMTS and LTE for frequencies of 850/900/1800/1900 so this type can support
only one cell, In single mode for GSM each ANT support 6 TRX (80W), while in UMTS 4
carriers but in multi-mode Four TRXs + one carrier (80 W) or Two TRXs + two carriers.

2. RSU 40 it’s single multi carrier RF and it has only one channel can support UMTS only at
2100 MHz frequency band and only support 4 carriers maximum.
3. RSU 82 it’s a single or multi carrier RF and this device has two channels and can support
GSM, UMTS and LTE for frequencies of 850,900,1800 and 2100 MHz so this type can
support two cells working in the same time by it, In single mode GSM each ANT supports
6 TRX so each RSU 82 in GSM support 12 TRX, while in UMTS 2×4 carriers but in multi-
mode 2× (4 TRXs + 1 carrier) or 2× (2 TRXs + 2 carriers).

Cells types for RRU:

S 900, S 908 ----- this cell is to GSM900

S 188, S 1800 ---- this cell is to GSM1800

S 100, S 218 ----- this cell is to 3G

Types of SDR Baseband:

GSM Baseband Processing Boards:

1- UBPG it supports 12 TRX and each BBU can support no more than 5 boards.

2- UBPG3 it supports 24 TRX and each BBU can support no more than 5 boards.
UMTS Baseband Processing Boards:

1- BPK_e it supports 6 cells and each BBU can support no more than 5 boards.
2- BPK_e1 it supports 6 cells and each BBU can support no more than 5 boards.
3- BPK_d it supports 12 cells and each BBU can support no more than 5 boards.

BBU: The boards have to be like below

___________________________________________________________________________

SDR BTS Types:

1-BS8700 outdoor and indoor(both).
2-BS8800 indoor -------- this indoor cabinet inside shelter.

3-BS8900 outdoor and sometimes indoor ------ this outdoor cabinet.

Configuration notes:
OMCB:

1- NTP server for 3G starts with 129 and for 2 G 139 and is the same for all sites.
2- If the site is IP site no HDLC or PPP is filled in the configuration.
3- If E1 is used, in PPP the Local IP is starting with 118 if it’s 2G and 150 if it’s 3G.
4- if the PPP link number is 0 that means 3G if 1 it means 2G.
5- PA is the number of input in RSU, for example RSU 82 has four.
6- If IP sites IP clock is need to be filled.
7- Diversity mode means that RSU82 has only one antenna, one jumper in each channel.
8- NE Master External IP: choose any unused IP.
9- Sctp has a remote port is for module if 14596 means 4, if 14600 means 8.

OMCR:

1- Board info of IPOE you can choose any EIPI board.

2- E1 List, you can choose empty DTB.

How to reset any board in V4 BSC, V4 RNC:

1. View topology
2. click Status management
3. click GSM Radio Resource
4. site Rack list <<<then you can choose the site rack and make reset
BSC’s:
ZXG10:

DTB:
RACK 1 RACK 2

This board provide 32 E1 links interface.

UR9000:

VSWR range: from 150 to 300 (upper limit is 1.5, lower limit is 3)

Recovery value for upper limit is 290

Recovery value for lower limit is 140

It means that if VSWR value more than 1.5, it will show VSWR alarm in this cell.

Some Alarms details:

Example TRI586 (two UPBG boards have alarm: UPBG boards

are powered off).
After we check, we found that these sites do not have 2G SDR , so we delete this board
from the configuration until we move V3 2G BTS to 2G SDR BTS.
1. E1 link self-loop….this mean if this E1 belong to MISU….so we make this E1 as loop back
To know that this E1 belong to MISU and to confirm that our E1 LINK is normal. (No
need to fix this issue in daily woke plane.
And may be at future will fix MISU problem.

2. There are some alarms need to reset such as

> Uplink of ADC chip initialization failure

> DUC chip initialization failure
> Closed-loop power control adjustment exceeding normal range

3. DOM is lack of space

This Alarm it means there is some problem in the version software.

So we do some steps to reinstall the version again as show in video.
