“Farsi Asan: Easy Persian” by Dr. Alaeddin Pazargadi, 5 vols.

with a an extra “Teacher’s

Manual” vol. (totaling 6 vols. or “books”), all paperpacks (6”x9”), ea. vol. varies between 75-
100 pp., also with 6 CDs and audio cassettes [depending upon the edition], published in
Tehran, Iran; c. 1968, updated/reprints: 2008, 2011, 2014. Co-authors or illustrators include:
Esmaeel Hosseini, Sara Namjoo, & Mastafa Al Ahmed.

This set is for English-speaking individuals who wish to learn beginning Persian (Farsi). My
comments on this set: in the first two lessons the teacher points to several objects in a
classroom and tells the students their Farsi name. The teacher then tells the student how to
write in Farsi the name/word of the item. Strange: a teacher is quickly showing a student
how to write various Farsi words BEFORE even teaching the student the Farsi alphabet!
{Perhaps it is expected that a student will already know the Farsi alphabet.}
