 Maintain, repair, and upgrade the electrical distribution infrastructure for the
Water Supply Division; perform thermography of motor control and electrical

distribution panels; collect and analyze power quality data to troubleshoot
problems.
 Perform comprehensive troubleshooting down to component levels to extend
the life of obsolete equipment and conserve funds.
 Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair 480 volt motors, control centers,
and de-energized higher voltage equipment.
 Maintain and repair engine generators; perform work on associated control
circuit equipment.
 Install, maintain, and repair building circuits and related equipment.
 Maintain electrical pneumatic and electronic controls, alarm and SCADA
systems, programmable controls, and related equipment.
 Perform related welding, carpentry, pipe fitting, valve repair, and cement
work.
 Requisition parts and supplies; maintain records and prepare reports.
 Oversee and inspect work performed by outside vendors.
 May participate in emergency on-call duty on a rotational basis.
 May cross-train with other City division staff.
 Provide preventive and predictive maintenance of the electrical systems, conducting
daily rounds and readings;
 Lead successful installation and repair of electrical systems and wiring including but
not limited to: power distribution systems, LED lighting systems, control panels,
components of machinery and equipment, data and fiber optic wiring, and security
camera infrastructure;
 Train others on the Maintenance team in the execution of basic electrical tasks;
 Participate in the development and implementation of Computerized Maintenance
Management
System (CMMS);
 Complete daily work orders as assigned and update team with daily work reports
outlining progress
and new issues;
 Identify when external contractor/vendor is needed, and work in collaboration with
contractor/vendor to complete work;
 Develop and maintain inventories of electrical materials;

 Perform maintenance job functions as needed, including but not limited to basic
repairs to High Line
MEP infrastructure, furnishings, and utilities;
 Participate in the winterization and spring start-ups on applicable systems;

 Model, implement, and comply with electrical safety rules and related industry
regulations;
 Define and follow Standard Operating Procedures for repair of electrical systems;
 Identify and suggest new approaches or best known methods to foster continuous
improvement;
 Perform other duties as assigned, including winter snow and ice removal.

 Develop and design electrical control systems for oil and gas drilling
equipment.
 Produce required documents, drawings/schematics, and procedures
related to the electrical systems.
 Write routine reports and correspondence.
 Create electrical drawing packages using software or current technology.
 Install electrical equipment onsite.
 Maintain and make repairs to electrical equipment onsite.
 Conduct daily inspections on all systems and report any potential issues.
 Ensure that all required records are maintained.
 Troubleshoot all electrical systems and make recommendations for
upgrades, repairs, maintenance, etc.
 Calibrate and modify systems according to site needs.
 Provide electrical technical support to all areas of the rig or site.
 Maintain an adequate supply of parts for emergency repairs.
 Assist the maintenance supervisor or chief engineer with preparing the
maintenance and repair budget for the electrical systems.
 Supervise other electricians.
 Ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
 These types of technicians monitor high voltage power generation
and distribution systems, motors, control systems, and electrical
equipment specifically designed for use in hazardous areas.
 Carries out maintenance and testing activities
 Fault-finding and repair of systems and equipment
 Modifies, repairs or replaces systems and equipment
 Participates in Risk Assessments as part of Integrated Safe System Of Work
(ISSOW) / Permit to Work preparation
 Interprets technical drawings
 Prepares reports on work done
 field fault analysis – determines if instrument has failed or if it is a process

problem;
 field calibration of instrumentation utilizing proper test equipment;
 complete overhaul in shop environment to include component replacements,
alignments and calibration to specifications of record;
 repair of signal transmission facility such as tubing, wiring, etc.;
 instrumentation to include pneumatic, electronic and digital equipment;
 fault analysis of hardwire relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power
circuits (120V to 480V 3phase) and common utility / lighting circuits;
 installation of new control circuits, modification of existing
instrument/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load and
Implementation of new control logic;
 fault analysis of PLC based systems with control logic modification if required.
 analysis of 12.47kv incoming power service.
Prepares for inclement weather by taking necessary precautions including, but not
limited to, checking condition of heat tape, boarding of windows, securing loose
equipment and any other related assignments as directed by District Management.;
and
Develops, prepares and presents recommendations and reports as requested.
