Once you have translated or got a file or files translated, open XBench, and click Project to pull down
its menu and click New (or Ctrl N) as in Figure 1.

In File List menu, click Add Files and select the type of file to be added, choose XLIFF File (for it is an
mxliff one) and click Next as it is shown below.

Then File List menu will be seen again for you to add the file translated. Press Add File, choose the
location of the file and select the file itself from Add Glossary window as shown in Figure 5.

After that, click Open and you will see the file added like this:

You will have two options here, (1) you can add other files by clicking Add File again and proceed as
shown previously or (2) you can click Next to continue the process. As you generally work with more
than one file, we strongly recommend to add all the files together in order to have one report per
project and, more importantly, to avoid inconsistences inside the very handoff.
After clicking Next, Properties menu will open in Add Files to Project window as Figure 7 shows.

In this new menu, you will focus on Priority setting and select High, this is important since if there
are many files to be analyzed, this guarantees they have the same level of importance at the time
of running QA. Moreover, as they are translations, click Ongoing translation and press OK.
In Project Properties window, you will see the file or files in green for their priority is high (see Figure
8).

Once again, there will be two possibilities. (1) If you do not need to add any glossary you can click
OK and continue working. Yet, for our projects, you have glossaries, so it is MANDATORY to add
them (2). This point will be discussed in “How to Add Glossaries in XBench”.
To add a glossary, click Add, that would be the option (2) shown in Figure 8. Once you did it, you will
see the following:

Here you have to choose the type of glossary file you will add and click Next. Once again Add
Glossary window will appear, choose the location of the project glossary, select it and press Open
as it is displayed below.

Properties menu will open again in Add File to Project window as in Figure 11.

You will focus on Priority setting and select High, this is important for if you have more than one
glossary, you are telling XBench which are of great importance, still we recommend to do the same
if you have only one glossary. Then, ask the tool to concentrate on Key Terms so that only exact
terms are the priority. After this, press OK.
Next, you will have to choose between two options, if there are no more glossaries, you can continue
by clicking Next (1); but if there are, add them by pressing Add File (2) as marked in Figure 12.

When choosing this last option, add the glossary or glossaries as shown previously and click Next to
see the following:

Here you can see the files in green for their priority is high. You can click OK (1) or continue adding
files by pushing Add (2). With the second option, add files as explained in “How to Add Files in
XBench”, and with the first one the addition of the glossary would be ready.
If you want to search a specific term in the glossary or glossaries, go to Search in the upper-left
corner and write the English term in Source Term and press Search as shown in Figure 14.

Once the files and glossaries are added in the tool, go to the QA (1) menu in the upper-left side of
the window and click it and the following will appear.

After that, make sure that in Options (2) only three options are marked unless you are asked to
check the 100% strings or to ignore the tags. Then click Checklists if you have them and find it
interesting to use them in XBench. Otherwise, do not check it.
The Figures 16 and 17 will show you what should be checked for the sake of a comprehensive QA in
the Check Group and the List of Checks.

Once everything is checked, you are ready to continue the process, therefore press Check Ongoing
Translation. The resulting report will be similar to the one displayed in Figure 18.

Should you click any of the strings shown in the QA Report, the complete information of the
source/target string will be displayed at the bottom-left side of the window together with its
information, such as the TM match percentage, the file where the string belongs to, its path and the
string number.

In case you spot a True Positive, select the string and go to QA, select the option Mark/Unmark
Issue (or Ctrl M). This option will mark the string and the type of error with a cross as follows:

These “crosses” will be reflected in the XBench QA Report that you will send to Moravia Argentina.
After making sure there are no more TPs to be corrected in the files, go to the QA pull down menu
in the upper-left side of the window and click Export QA Results (or Ctrl Q) as in Figure 20.

First, choose the location where you will save the QA Report. Then you will see that XBench suggests
a name and the type of file, you will choose Excel file (*.xls) and it will be MANDATORY to use the
following name formula:
XBench_QA_VenReport_(Target Lang.)
For example:
XBench_QA_VenReport_cs-CZ

Here, you will see the TP as “Marked”, still you will have to mark “Ignored” in the rest of the hits as
follows:

The XBench QA Report is of high importance in order to avoid Quality Fails, this is why we
decided that the missing of this report in a handoff, the missing of “Marked” or “Ignored”
comments in the Excel and the missing of the updated glossary will be considered a Late
Delivery
