Brief introduction
GAD series product is a C-Band Power Amplifier. It’s mainly designed for single-channel or
multi-channel continuous ribbon channels (ITU wavelength). GAD series power amplifiers features
low noise figure and high saturated output power, it fits to central office, branch and line relay, you
can also use other optical fiber communication networks; It’s the most common and largest
amount amplifier in CATV system. The GAD series erbium-doped fiber amplifier adopts the world's
top brands pumped erbium-doped fiber. Perfect APC and ATC control, good ventilation design to
ensure long life and high reliability of PUMP Laser. The front panel LCD provides machine
operating parameters and alarm; lasers automatically turn off when missing optic to protect laser
safety; RJ45 interface provides SNMP-based network management interface; high quality, high
reliability and excellent cost performance, is ideal for system integrators and network operators.

●Operator Login
An operator must login first, and then he can change the parameters. Initial password is
"kt123", username "ktwg". User can change the password after login.
● IP address
This column shows the IP address of the system work
● MAC address
This column shows the physical address of the responder.
●Current status
This column shows the system messages, such as system working properly, system alarm,
temporary IP address 192.168.1.1 (instructions: When press Reset button, IP address will be
forced to set to 192.168.1.1. Note: This IP address is temporary, after 4 minutes or off electricity, it
will automatically revert to the IP address before the reset.)
●Device model
It shows the model of the device. (Note: It may be inconsistent with the label on the product
nameplate)
●Power type
It shows the power supply type of the device (AC 220V).
●Parameter table
It shows the current status and parameters values of the device.

IP address setting
Notice that if IP address of the device is conflicting with any of the other devices, it will
interrupt communications.
Password setting
The password digits should not be more than 8 characters, otherwise it is set to invalid and
user name can not be set, the system defaults to the lowercase "ktwg". Keep the password in
mind after the password is set. If the password is lost, please call us (Telephone and Email
address are prompted in red on the home page, you can see in the first 20 seconds when Log in
Home).
10
Alarm Enable Setting
Alarm enable setting, when the user selects the parameters of the corresponding option. It will
alarm if the actual value of the parameter exceeds the set alarm threshold.
Alarm Level
Alarm threshold settings, in actual use, the user can adjust the alarm threshold according to
the actual situation. (Note: Users do not have to set the threshold of these parameters, the device
has been set at the factory default threshold values of these parameters), a little high and low for
general alarm, low and high for serious alarm.
11
Trap IP
The Trap receiver address allows up to four, the address is enabled when settings enabled
Restore
When the alarm enable or alarm threshold settings disorder, if you want to restore the factory
settings, restore to factory settings after clicking the confirmation button. (Note: to restore the
factory settings, IP addresses will not be affected.)

Installation
Box inspection
KT GAD Series 1550 optical fiber amplifier has been strict production debugging and testing
before leaving the factory, with user manual and random accessories in the box. After receipt of
the goods, user should first check whether the box is in good condition, and then open it to check
whether the machinery and equipment is damaged in transit, or random accessories are complete,
and timely feedback to KT Company. (Contacts please see the last page)
Installation
1. The equipment uses 220v AC power supply, the fuse specifications 1.6A, to be ensure that the
shell is well grounded.
2. Before use, check wavelength and power of the input signal of the optical interface, to ensure
that it’s within the range of specified operating parameters.
3. Clean the external input/output pigtail connector end face, clean as follows: wipe with a clean
dedicated dust-free paper, slightly moistened with pure alcohol wipe 2-3 times. Be residues after
the alcohol evaporates, and the external jumper can be connected to the EDFA input/output
optical port, and to ensure a good connection.
4. Check whether the power connection and the input/output jumper connections are correct, turn
on the power switch on the front panel, the power LED is lit, the key that unlocks the panel laser,
no panel alarm indication, EDFA already normal work; any time plug input/output pigtail, user
must first disconnect the power to ensure personal safety.
5. If user wants to monitor EDFA work status, connect LAN port of EDFA and PC, and select the
corresponding PC software, you can read EDFA work.
