Re: O-1 Non-Immigrant Visa Petition on behalf of Mr. Ignacio Cacace, a Jazz
Musician of Extraordinary Ability

Dear District Director,

I am sending you this letter in strong support of Mr. Ignacio Cacace's O-1 non-
immigrant visa petition. My name is Alexis Cuadrado, and I am a double bass player,
arranger, composer, and teacher at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary
Music in New York. I graduated in Jazz Performance and Composition from the Taller
De Músics in Barcelona (1993) and went on to study with the legendary concert bass
master François Rabbath in Paris (1995-98). In 2001 I received a Master's Degree in
Jazz Performance and Composition (graduating with honors) at the Aaron Copland
School of Music-Queens College (NY). From 2006 to 2011 I was part of the Brooklyn
Jazz Underground, a 10 bandleader/composer collective that I co-founded. I have
published five critically-acclaimed CDs as a leader. My original compositions have
been commissioned by institutions like the Jazz Gallery and Chamber Music America.
Based on my experience in the music and recording industry I can attest that Mr.
Ignacio Cacace is an extraordinary musician who has attained a high level of
success in the music industry and has made a name for himself as an extraordinarily
achieved musicjazz musician.

Having familiarized myself with Mr. Cacace’s CV and with his incredibly unique
musical talent, I can say with confidence that he is one of the greats of his
generation. Mr. Cacace has toured all over New York and Argentina as a jazz
musician. He brings his extensive knowledge and experience to every musical
endeavor, including his debut CD “New Concepts of Pop Music.” “New Concepts of
Pop Music” is a very exciting music release, recorded with talents like Jesse Simpson,
Lars Ekman, and Gianni Gagliardi. The album was recorded at Tedesco Studios in
New Jersey, a respected recording studio that has as clients essentially all of the most
important musicians in contemporary jazz, including John Scofield, Buster Williams,
Joshua Redman, Bobby Sanabria, and more. The album received rave reviews and is
distributed through the BCN Jazz Collective and Amazon. Mr. Ignacio Cacace
consistently plays with originality and elegance on seven originally and thoughtfully
arranged tracks. After listening to his album, I can confirm to his extraordinary talent
and significant contribution to the world of jazz music.

Furthermore, Mr. Ignacio Cacace has performed with many highly respected
jazz musicians at noteworthy venues and festivals. For example, he was personally
invited, based on his track record of great success as a jazz musician, to the ICM
International Jazz Festival in Mar del Plata in Argentina. Mar de la Plata is Argentina’s
second largest city This is the most important jazz festival in Argentina, featuring
performances from notable international musicians such as Jakob Bro, Mark Helias,
Jean Michel Pilc, Guillermo Klein, Frank Carlberg, Juan Cruz de Urquiza, Ernesto Jodos,
Agusti Fernandez, Leo Masliah, Hugo Fattoruso, Aca Seca, Ricardo Tejero, Frode
Gjerstad, Pablo Ledesma, Diegos Schissi, Anderson Quevedo, Paula Shocron, Ernesto
Snajer, Mono Fontana, and Marcelo Gutfraind. Venues for the events include Teatro
Colón, la Plaza San Martín, el Teatro Diagonal, la Alianza Francesa, Dickens Pub,
Plataforma 12, Espacio Bua, Casa sobre el Arroyo, Mingus Bar, and the Playa Bristol
Skatepark. Mr. Cacace himself shared the stage with performers like Jean Michel Pilc,
Mark Helias, and Guillermo Klein, to name a few, becoming a key performer at this
major festival. In 2011 he was named “Best Guitarist” of the Festival,” indicating a
great deal of recognition from his fellow music professionals.

Mr. Ignacio Cacace is a well-known and respected member of the jazz

community world-wide. He has made great contributions to live performance and
commercial recordings. Because of my familiarity with his work, I can speak towards
his importance as a jazz musician. His continued contribution is a vital part of the jazz
movement. I urge you to consider this matter in favor of Mr. Cacace. Thank you for
your time.

Yours Truly,

Alexis Cuadrado
