2.1.2 Dimensions
For electrical installation and component list see part electrical drawings
2.1.5.1 Drive
The platform is driven by an electric motor connected by a belt to the driving nut package.
The lift is equipped with a rotating drive and safety nut. The drive motor and drive unit is
positioned in the lifting yoke between the lift guides.
The drive unit is access-restricted by means of removable plates.
2.1.5.2 Brake
The screw and nut package is self-sustaining. Motor equipped with a hold brake.
The landings are equipped with limit switches that automatically stops the platform at each
floor.
In addition to the landing switches there is a main limit switch for the senses of over travel,
due to malfunction, past the upper landing switch. When actuated, the main switch
disconnects the power supply and the platform remains stationary.
The platform nut package is fitted with a safety nut that takes over the load in the event of the
driving nuts malfunctioning. The safety nuts are normally unloaded, and a nut switch
indicates if the safety nut is loaded. If so, the platform cannot be operated and
inspection/repair is needed in order to re-commission it. Driving nut wear is checked and
measured with the nut wear guide. The measure by delivery is factory marked on the nut.
Maximum nut wear 2,0mm.

2.1.5.6 Control system
Destination buttons at the platform and call buttons at every landing. The lift is equipped with
hold to run manoeuvre. To use the lift the destination button in the platform has to be
activated the whole transport cycle.
The platform is equipped with an emergency stop button (red) which when actuated remains
in the depressed position and is reset by turning the knob clockwise.
For evacuation and servicing, the lift is equipped with a manual or electrical emergency
lowering device.
The platform is fitted with safety barriers that halt the lift on its transport cycle to eliminate
any risk of personal and machine injury. The safety barriers are spring-loaded and the lifting
platform re-starts as soon as the actuation ceases.
Lifts with rated load above 400Kg are overload protected as standard. Lifts with rated load
below 400kg can be equipped with an overload protection device as option.
The lift is equipped with a mechanical manual prop in the pit bottom if the necessary
evacuation space is smaller then required.
The lift is equipped with an emergency stop button in the pit bottom that shall be activated
when service is executed below the platform.
Warning!
Electrical installation, adjustments in the electrical cabinet or at the frequency converter
is only allowed by responsible lift personnel.
The power supply connection for the lifting platform is made in the electrical cabinet at the R,
S and T sockets. The connection 230v/400V, 3-phase (or 230V 1-phase with a frequency
converter) is to be made to a separate fuse group with 10-16A fuses. Connect the frame and
cage by means of the multipolar snap coupling. If the lift is equipped with frequency
converter the parameters are factory programmed. Control of the parameters is only needed
when malfunction.
Warning!
Lifts equipped with a frequency converter may not be connected to earthbreaker.
If its difficult to obtain a smooth and soft door retardation the opening momentum has to be
decreased, eg the pump pressure.
If an electro mechanical stop bar has been installed an extra “lock kick” can be obtained the
last 5 degrees of the closing cycle by adjustment of the screw LK at the hydraulic unit.
This screw is normally locked. Adjust by open the screw 90 degrees and observe the function.
If the screw LK is opened too much the door opening can be delayed.
Control that the installation confirms with requirements from the government.
When the emergency signal button is pressed the Safeline will call after 5-10 seconds if a
telephone number is programmed and the telephone line is connected. When Safeline starts
calling a tone and pulse signals can be heard in the speaker. Adjust the volume with the
potentiometer.
The first two telephone numbers (primary and secondary) are pre-programmed for Safeline.
There has to be a 8-digit alarm code to make the P100 alarm function. The last two telephone
numbers (third and fourth) are pre programmed for talk communication. Talk communication
is that Safeline calls and connect an ordinary telephone call. The receiving person doesn’t
need to confirm the call. This procedure is fully automatic.
To disconnect the call at talk communication the receiving person has to press “9” or “#”
otherwise the line will be occupied for 90 seconds after the call has ended.
One of the programmed numbers can be connected to a personal pager. The Safeline can be
programmed to give a number code to the personal pager. To make this happened the alarm
type has to be adjusted to “MINICALL”.
2.5 Starting up
Manoeuvre the lift by pressing the up, down and landing buttons at all landings.
The lifting platform is intended for the conveyance of persons between fixed landing levels up
to 9 metres.
The lifting platform is suitable for wheelchair bound persons and persons with impaired
mobility walking with sticks, a walking frame or a wheeled walker. The lift can also be used
for transportation of gods. The lifting platform can be used by the disabled person either
independently or with assistance from another person, provided the user or the assistant has
sufficient knowledge of the workings and operation of the lifting platform as explained in this
manual.
The space beneath the platform must be kept clear of leaves, snow etc.
For convenience and safety of operation the lifting platform shall be well lit. This lamp is
normally not delivered with the lift.
When placing the lift outdoors special arrangements are needed for prevention from cold
weather and rain/snow.
Operation
The standard mode of operation is by pressing the hold to run pushbuttons. The lift is ordered
to a landing by pressing the button placed at the doorframe at every landing. At the platform
panel there is send buttons for ordering the lift to all specific landings. The STOP button is an
extra safety component.
The lifting platform stops automatically at the right level for each landing.
The button has to be pressed the whole transportation cycle. When released the lift will stop.
