Abstract
The industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) transform companies and countries, opening up a
new era of economic growth and competitiveness. Either, it may call Internet of Things or cyber
physical systems or smart industry or industry 4.0, they all are directed towards the integration
of modern systems. This paper is focused towards the study and analysis of industrial Internet-
of-Things (IIoT) that is now become the future of modern industries. A complete case study of
an IIoT has been considered the complete solution for any manufacturing and processing
industry is thoroughly discussed. This study will be useful for industry and researchers to easily
adopt the IIoT with minimum resources and complexity.
Keywords: Internet of Things, cyber physical systems, smart industry, industry 4.0, context-
aware systems, autonomous system, case study.
1. Introduction
The Internet-of-Things (IoT) seems to be the most evolving technology of this era. From
smart-homes to smart-cities and from smart-spaces to smart-industries, the life style of human
beings has been evolved [1]. The Industrial Internet, IIoT incorporates the concept of machine
learning and big data technology, harnessing the sensor data, machine-to-machine (M2M)
communication and automation technologies that have existed in industrial settings for years.
The Industrial Internet of Things will transform companies and countries, opening up a new era
of economic growth and competitiveness. We see a future where the intersection of people,
data and intelligent machines will have far-reaching impacts on the productivity, efficiency and
operations of industries around the world [2].

Forecast for the market-share of IoT applications by the year of 2025 [1].
The driving philosophy behind the IIoT is that smart machines are better than humans at
accurately, consistently capturing and communicating data. This data can enable companies to
pick up on inefficiencies and problems sooner, saving time and money and supporting business
intelligence efforts [3]. It is forecasted that, Business investment will grow from $215 billion to
$832 billion versus consumers at $72 billion in 2015 to $236 billion in 2020.

IoT Benefits
Several researches have been proposed yet, but still to implement the most exciting
research related to Industrial Internet of Things is not cleared. Many researches has focused
towards this area but until this period not able to define end-to-end system.
M. T. Jilani et.al. basically describes the whole IIoT system in a very effective manner.

3. Conclusion
As IIoT connectivity and virtuality become pervasive, manufacturing and industrial products
companies will face a similarly deep and broad transformation of their operating and business

models. While many companies have gained some understanding of this transformation, this
paper describes the case study that will help researchers a complete autonomous system
based-on-IoT, that enables industries to deploy a rapid, online, noninvasive measurement
system using available standardize protocols and technologies.
