COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This unit identifies the competence required for cutting metal using disc cutter, power saw, band saw, circular saw, hydraulic squaring machine
and hand lever shear so that the metal is cut to the required size, shape and dimensional accuracy as per drawing specification

1.2 Cut work piece 1.2.1 Identify and choose cutting disc required according

1.2.2 Operate disc cutting machine with correct cutting
technique in accordance to standard operation
procedures.
1.2.3 Apply safety precaution according to Occupational
Safety and Health Act.
1.3 Check work piece after cutting 1.3.1 Identify and use measuring tools and instruments to
check work piece after cutting in accordance to
standard operation procedures.
1.3.2 Practice safety consciousness, cautious and proper
working etiquette according to Occupational Safety
and Health Act (OSHA).
