SikaTop® Seal -200

Polymer-Modified Flexible Cementitious Waterproofing Coating

PRODUCT SikaTop® Seal-200 is a 2-component, polymer-modified flexible cementitious

waterproofing coating. It is applied to concrete and mortar as an elastic
DESCRIPTION waterproofing coating to prevent water infiltration.

USES
SikaTop® Seal -200 is used for positive and negative pressure waterproofing,
sealing of hairline cracks and as a protective coating against aggressive
elements such as carbon dioxide (e.g. in concrete repair work), frost and
deicing agents.

SYSTEM INFORMATION
APPLICATION DETAILS CONSUMPTION / COVERAGE
Approx. 1.4 kg/m²/mm
(Overall coating thickness depend on the application area, substrate
roughness and surface profile)
 SikaTop® Seal -200 must be applied in a minimum of 2 coats.
 For high risk areas, apply an addition third coat.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Concrete, mortar and masonry surfaces must be clean, free from grease, oil
and loosely adhering particles.

Steel and iron surfaces must be clean, free from scale, rust, grease and oil.
All surfaces must be as true and flat as possible.

Absorbent surfaces have to be thoroughly saturated with water prior to

application of first coat of SikaTop Seal -200. However no loose standing
water should be on the surface before application.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS MIXING

Shake component A before using it. Pour the whole component A (liquid)
into a clean mixing container (of at least 20 litre volume capacity). While
mixing at low speed, add slowly component B (powder) to the liquid
component. Continue mixing for approx. 3 minutes until a creamy, lump free
consistency is achieved.

MIXING TOOLS
- Slow Speed Mixer (maxi. 500 rpm)
- Mixing Paddle with uplifted notched disk.

APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS

Whilst the substrate is still damp but free of standing water, apply the first
coat by brush, roller or squeegee, working the material well into the surface
to achieve full bond. Allow 4 hours (at 25°C) for the first coat to cure before
applying following coats.

For large areas, SikaTop® Seal -200 can be applied by spraying using a
suitable worm type mixer/pump.
An additional stripe coat is recommended over cracks, wall/floor
intersections, etc. as these locations are where movement is most likely to
be expected in service.

POT LIFE

 CURING
For cement based products, proper curing is important. Protect newly
®
applied SikaTop Seal -200 against direct sunlight, wind, rain and frost to
ensure full cement hydration to minimize cracking.

CLEANING OF TOOLS
Clean all tools and application equipment with clean water immediately after
use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.

NOTES ON APPLICATION /  Minimum ambient and substrate temperature is 8°C.

LIMITATIONS  Never apply more than 2 kg/m² of SikaTop Seal -200 in one single layer.
 For better keying, a bond coat is recommended using a mixture of Sika
Latex and cement. For details, please refer to our product data sheet.
