Usually, the networking diagram is included in the Technical Proposal. You can obtain the
networking diagram from the marketing team. The customer also has the diagram issued by the
designing institute. You can also obtain the diagram from the customer or the designing institute.
This diagram should cover the devices used in the current project and the existing devices that will
be connected to the new ones, and the networking relations between the devices.
After the survey engineer receives the network diagram from the Marketing Dept, he/she
shall confirm the diagram with the customer first. If the diagram is not consistent with the actual
requirements, the survey engineer shall report the situation to the person responsible for the
contract in time. The engineer shall also revise the configuration list according to the actual
networking requirements and the services to be realized to meet the requirements of users.
Fill in the cabinet layout with the location of the device specified in the equipment room
layout. This facilitates the review of the site survey, such as whether the side doors and bases are
available.
Write down the usage of the cabinet, for example, "For the CX600-4, CX600-8, or CX600-
16" in the blank odd line; write down the model number of the cabinet, for example, "N68E-22" in
the blank even line.
New cabinets are represented in bold and existing cabinets are represented in italics.
If the cabinets in a row are not attached to each other, make a remark in the
cabinet layout or leave a space.
In general, use the room number like 506 or 419 to indicate the detailed position where the
equipment room is in a site.
1. Floor Type
The type of the cabinet installation parts depends on the type of floors. Generally, there are
three types of floors: concrete floor, antistatic floor, and antistatic floor with cabinets directly
installed thereon.
For the concrete floor, the cabinet installation parts are expansion bolts.
For the antistatic floor, the cabinet installation parts are supports. Supports are usually
provided by Huawei. If the customer requests to fabricate the supports by itself under the contract,
the requirements for installation dimensions must be met. Make sure that the supports fabricated
by the customer cannot cover the downward cable holes of the cabinets.
For the antistatic floor with cabinets directly installed thereon, the antistatic floor is adopted
in the equipment room but the supports are not needed for cabinet installation. The cabinets are
fixed directly on the floor by bolts. This installation mode is generally used abroad. Huawei does
not recommend this mode. If the floor type is different from any of the previous, choose Other,
and make detailed description.
Pay attention that you shall carefully ask about the design and arrangement of the floor
before the equipment room decoration is completed.
The examples of the three installation modes are as follows:
Cement floor
Antistatic floor
When determining the floor height, round down the height in a unit of 5 mm. The height of
313 (take 310) and 207 (take 205) cannot appear.
If the antistatic floor does not exist, fill in 0 for the height of the antistatic floor.
3. Cabling Modes
There are two cabling modes: overhead cabling and underfloor cabling. The customer
determines the cabling mode. If the trunk cables, clock cables, power cables and network cables
have different cabling modes, the cabling mode here refer to the cabling mode of the trunk cables.
The cabling modes of other cables must be described respectively in the cabling diagram. For the
overhead cabling, it is necessary to measure the lowest height of cable racks at the position for
installing the cabinet (If the antistatic floor is used in the equipment room, the height is the
distance between the lower surface of the cable rack and the upper surface of the antistatic floor).
Check whether the height of the cabinet in the quotation satisfies the on-site installation
conditions.
4. Height of Equipment Room
The height of the equipment room is the distance between the bottom of the beam or
ventilation pipe of the equipment room and the ground (when the antistatic floor exists, the ground
indicates the upper surface of the antistatic floor).
Note:
During the survey on the floor, you need to know whether the customer has special
requirements for the size of the bolts of the brackets. If the bolts are not of the default
size of Huawei, make a remark in the Survey Datasheet.
N68E Cabinet Introduction: The N68E cabinet can be installed on the cement floor or the
antistatic floor in the equipment room. The N6X support is used when the cabinet is installed on
the antistatic floor.
Presently, the N68E cabinet is of only one specification.
The outside surface of the N68E-22 cabinet is of purplish gray color. The appearance of the
double-door N68E-22 as following figure:
Number of N68E cabinets: Fill in the number of N68E-22 cabinets that are installed in this
office. You can know the number from the quotation.
Support of the NE68E cabinet:
1) For the floor type of installing the cabinet on the antistatic floor, when one N68E-22
cabinet is installed separately, two supports are required; when N N68E-22 cabinets, which are
aligned shoulder to shoulder, are installed, 2N supports are required.
N6X supports are classified into:
N6X of the fixed length
N6X of the adjustable length
Compo Height of the antistatic Floor
Remarks
nent (mm)
Within this range, no level adjustment of
I 296 to 465
the height can be implemented.
2) For the floor type of installing the cabinet on the cement floor, the N68E is directly fixed
to the cement floor. Each NE68E cabinet needs an installation suite.
Side door of the N68E cabinet: Its side doors are embedded on both sides of the cabinet.
When N68E-22 cabinets are aligned shoulder to shoulder, side doors need be surveyed.
Configuration rules for the side doors of the N68E cabinet:
1. When the N68E-22 cabinet is installed separately, one cabinet is equipped with two side
doors.
2. When greater than or equal to two N68E-22 cabinets, which are aligned shoulder to
shoulder, are installed, a total of two side doors are required. The side doors between the two
N68E-22 cabinets are not required.
3. When the N68E-22 cabinet and the N68-22 cabinet are aligned closely, remove the side
door from the N68-22 cabinet. It is because that the side door of the N68-22 cabinet does not
apply to the N68E-22 cabinet. In this case, an additional side door for the N68E-22 cabinet is
needed.
Shockproof Parts and Others:
The Fixing Mount Kit which is used to connect the device with the cabling rack to secure the
device to the top of the cabinet. By default, it is not delivered. It’s delivered according to the site
survey results. N+1 pcs for N cabinets in one row.
The rack shockproof reinforcement component which helps secure the top of the device to
the ceiling or against the wall. By default, it is not delivered. It is delivered according to results of
the site survey. 1 piece for each cabinet.
Remarking the line space between cabinets at survey report or survey system.
Wide wire trough, wire ladder and matching accessories. By default, they are not delivered.
Please remark the width and length of wire trough in details.
Note:
The installation of blank panels prevents the heat at the air exhaust vent from
reflowing to the air intake vent, and thus ensures heat dissipation of the system. If
you need to install a device in an assembly cabinet of a much larger size, it is
recommended that you install blank panels in the vacant upper part of the cabinet.
One CX600-16
Two CX600-8s (20 U high)
Four CX600-4s (10 U high)
Nine CX600-X3s with DC power modules (4 U high)
Seven CX600-X3s with AC power modules (5 U high)
One CX600-X16 with DC or AC power modules (32 U high)
Three CX600-X8s with DC power modules (14 U high)
Two CX600-X8s with AC power modules (14 U high)
When the CX600 is installed in the cabinet purchased by the customer (non-Huawei NE68E),
you need to provide detailed parameters of the customer cabinet in written form. If possible,
provide the images. The headquarters can evaluate whether the device installation requirements
are met. You must provide the following information:
Depth (it is required to be greater than 800 mm), width (it is required to be greater than
600 mm), and height (it is determined according to the number of chassis installed in the
cabinet). For example, the height of one CX600-X16 is 32 U. The height of the
customer cabinet is at least 1800 mm.
Distance between the rack-mounting ear of the cabinet and chassis and the outside of the
front cabinet door. For example, on the CX600-X8 and CX600-X16, the distance
between the rack-mounting ear of the cabinet and chassis and the outside of the front
cabinet door is at least 150 mm. In addition, the thickness of the front door must be
smaller than 25 mm to ensure the available space of 125 mm. If the available space is
smaller than 125 mm, the front door cannot be closed because the cabling rack is an
obstacle.
Porosity of the front and rear doors of the cabinet. The porosity of the CX600 is required
to be greater than 50% to meet heat dissipation requirements.
Sufficient cabling space at the top of the cabinet. For example, the power cables of the
CX600-X8 and CX600-X16 are laid out from the rear of the cabinet.
Whether the cabinet adopts double swing doors. This involves the devices whose front
and rear sides need to be maintained. For example, the front and rear sides of the
CX600-X3, CX600-X8 and CX600-X16 need to be maintained. The cabinet cannot be
placed against the wall.
Ensure that the L-shape slide rails, captive nuts, and captive screws of the cabinet
purchased by the customer are complete.
Whether the cabinet column provides the grounding cables connected to the chassis,
cable quantity and diameter, whether the cabinet column provides the captive grounding
screws, and grounding screw type and quantity.
Whether the cabinet provides the grounding point and grounding cable matching the
grounding bar of the equipment room, and diameter and length.

Each CX600-X3 chassis uses two DC power modules CR52PEMA connectted with power
input to implement 1+1 backup. The PEM module has been installed in the CX600-X3 DC chassis
and does not need to be delivered separately. It can be connected to 48 V DC power supply
directly.
The following figure shows the appearance of the DC Power Entry Module (PEM)
CR52PEMA.
Attention: the PEM module (CR52PEMA) of CX600-X3 DC chassis is different from the
PEM module (CR52PEMB) of CX600-X8/CX600-X16 DC chassis.
CX600-X3 AC chassis no need deliver other AC power module separately. We can connect
AC power input plug (C13 plug) to the 110 V/220 VAC power supply panel.
The AC power module on the CX600-X3 is EPE30B-48A (02130865). The following figure
shows the front view of the chassis with AC power modules.
NOTE:
The AC power distribution frames in the lower part of the CX600-X3 chassis is 1 U high,
working in 1+1 backup mode. Each AC power distribution frame holds an EPW30B-48A module.
The air circuit breaker of the panel on the chassis is 10 A. Therefore, it is recommended that
the air circuit breaker A or B on the power distribution panel be no less than 10 A.
The CX600-X8 adopts the switched-mode power supply by using four PEMs CR52PEMBs
to provide partitioned power supply for boards of two areas. The power supply modules are in 2+2
backup mode (A1 and B1 back up each other to provide power supply for boards in area 1; A2 and
B2 back up each other to provide power supply for boards in area 2). The PEM module has been
installed in the CX600-X8 DC chassis and does not need to be delivered separately. It can be
connected to 48 V DC power supply directly.
NOTE: When EPS200-4850A is applied on the CX600-X8, one AC power supply frame
EPS200-4850A (02400376) and four rectifier modules EPW50-48A&E (02130872) power
supply system is required.
The AC power distribution frame cannot work independently, and must be configured with
certain rectifier modules to convert the 110V/220 V AC power to the –48 V DC power. Then, the
DC power is input to the CX600-X8 integrated chassis. The following two figures show the
appearances of the AC power distribution frame EPS200-4850A configured with four rectifier
modules EPW50-48A&E.
The AC power distribution frame EPS200-4850A (02400376) is different from the AC power distribution box
(02120415) in the CX600-16 5KW AC chassis. The AC power distribution box has one input and three outputs.
Each output has an air circuit breaker. The AC power distribution frame air circuit breakers. The monitoring
interface is connected to the CX600-X8 integrated chassis or the CX600-X16 integrated chassis through the
monitoring cable (04080076). Thus, the chassis can manage the AC power distribution frame.
The four air circuit breakers in the middle of the EPS200-4850A control four channels of AC
power inputs respectively. The four channels provide AC power for four rectifier modules
respectively, and the four rectifier modules outputs four channels of DC power.
EPS200-4850A can be applied to the 220 V/240 VAC and 100 V/110 V/120 VAC power
supply networks. In the 220 V/240 VAC power supply network, EPS200-4850A can output full
power. In the 100 V/110 V/120 VAC power supply network, you are required to provide double
live wire inputs. In this manner, the input voltage ranges from 176 VAC to 275 VAC, and EPS200-
4850A can output full power. Otherwise, it isn’t recommended that you use CX600-X8 AC
chassis. The output power of the EPS200-4850A depends on the output power of the configured
rectifier module. The rectifier module is the EPW50-48A&V (02130872). A single module can
provide about 54 A/53.5 V DC power.
Power distribution solution: The power panel provides four channels of AC power supplies to
the EPS200-4850A (02400376), with the rated current of each channel being no less than 20 A.
The EPS200-4850A is connected to the power distribution panel through a1, b1, c1, and d1 to
input four channels of AC power supplies; on the other side, the EPS200-4850A is connected to
the PEMB through a2, b2, c2, and d2 to output power supplies through four channels.
Warning:
Excluding the special explanation, the diameter, color, safe criterion of the power cable
of this chapter is according to Chinese Standard. For example, DC power cables use the
following specification: by default, -48 V cable uses blue wire, RTN cable uses black
wire, PGND cable uses yellow and green wire. For the oversea application, please obey
to the special requirement of power cable and confirm the requirement is the same with
China. If not, please remark at survey report in details. It is recommended that local

CX600-X8 DC chassis in the same cabinet. Decreasing the distance between box and DC chassis
(A) and monitoring the power distribution box through the monitor cable (B). The length of the
monitor cable is only 3 m. When the distance is longer than 3 m, we can not monitor the power
distribution box.
:
The default length of Ground Cable is 25 m when there is not special requirement. So please write down the
mode and length on the site survey report to avoid hard installation and cables waste.
:
Since the device is grounded through the chassis or the cabinet. The power module need not be singly
connected to the earth through a ground cable.
Grounded through the chassis: The power is not obtained from the cabinet, or the cabinet which the device is
installed isn’t connected to the earth, or the chassis isn’t installed in the cabinet. You should connect the chassis to
the grounding connector of the equipment room. In this manner, each chassis is equipped with one ground cable,
the length is the distance from the grounding connector of the chassis to the grounding bar of the equipment room.
The terminal of the cable is configured depands on the type of the chassis grounding connector and the grounding
bar.
Grounded through the cabinet: The cabinet which the chassis is installed is connected to the grounding bar of
the equipment room. The chassis can be grounded through the cabinet. In this manner, you should write down the
grounded type and the length between the cabinet’s grounding connector and the grounding bar of the equipment
room in detail.
When grounding through the cabinet, please write down the distance from the cabinet to the
grounding bar of the equipment room.
When grounding through the chassis, please write down the distance between the chassis and
the grounding bar.

1. The type of the optical fiber must match the connector type used on the optical interface.
Therefore, the types of the interfaces at both the local end and the remote end must be taken into
consideration.
Currently, all the interfaces of the CX600 use LC connectors. You can select suitable optical
fibers according to the site survey result that shows the connector type used on the device at the
remote end.
Pay special attention to the configuration of the optical fibers of the pluggable optical
modules on an LPU. Interfaces with XFP modules and SFP modules all use LC connectors, and
thus must be connected to the optical fibers with LC connectors. Interfaces with GBIC modules
use SC connectors, and thus must be connected to the optical fibers with SC connectors.
2. If the length of the optical fibers listed in Table 3-30 does not satisfy the needs of use, you
can connect the adaptor 14130248 to the optical fiber to prolong the length. Alternatively, you can
select another optical fiber with a suitable length from 04100069.
3. Selection of single/multi-mode optical fibers: The type of the optical fiber (single-mode or
multi-mode) must be consistent with the type of the optical interface on the LPU. If the optical
interface is in single-mode, the connector in single-mode must be selected. If the optical interface
is in multimode, the connector in multimode must be selected.
4. The actual length of the optical fiber and the type of the connector that are used on the
opposite end must be provided in the site survey report.
5. Selection of the MPO optical fiber 14130375: This optical fiber is used for connecting 10G
POS RPR interfaces. One optical fiber (14130375) is required to connect two 10G POS RPR
interfaces because all optical interfaces on the LPU of the CX600 are of the transmission and
reception separated structure. Each optical interface needs to be connected to two optical fibers.
6. Two BIDI optical modules need to be used together. Only one optical fiber can support two
optical modules work. BIDI optical module only supports single model fiber.
7. By default, the corrugated pipe and spiral pipe are stopped to deliver in China. If
fragmentary requirement, please purchase locally.
1) Survey the impedance and length from the impedance transfer box to the trunk cable on
the device side.
2) Survey the impedance and length from the cock source to the transfer box.
One end of the clock cable is connected to the clock interface of MPU (SRU) board. It can be
120-ohm balanced cable (RJ48) or 75-ohm unbalanced cable. The other end of the cable is
connected to clock source device (BITS), or receiving clock device (downstream network device).
There are five factors to select the clock cable.
1) The type of MPUs (SRUs).
2) The clock character, only clock synchronization, or time synchronization.
3) The peer interface type and peer device type.
4) The signal format and definition between MPUs (SRUs) and peer device.
5) The length of clock cable according to the site survey result.
The following table lists the clock cable.

Except SMB cable (BOM: 04060171) with two SMB connectors, the other cables only have one
terminal to connect to the MPUs (SRUs), customer need provid the other terminal.
RJ48 Trunk cable is different from RJ45 network cable. The two cables can not substitute each
other.
The MPUs (SRUs) of CX600 support two fomat clock signal inputs: 2.048 Mhz clock signal
and 2.048 Mbps code signal (E1 signal). These two signals can be transmitted on the coaxial
cables or twisted-pair (RJ48 cable). It’s named for 75-ohm unbalanced mode when using the
coaxial cable. It’s named for 120-ohm balanced mode when using twisted-pair.
The MPUs (SRUs) of CX600 support two fomat time signals: 1PPS+TOD and DCLS. When
1PPS+TOD signal is transmitted on the coaxial cable, 1PPS uses TTL level, TOD uses RS232
level. Using 2 pcs coaxial cables to transmit 1 channel signal, it’s for short 1PPS+TOD (RS232).
When 1PPS+TOD signal is transmitted on the twisted-pair (RJ48 cable), 1PPS and TOD use
RS422 level. Using 1 pcs twisted-pair to transmit 1 channel signal, it’s for short 1PPS+TOD
(RS232). DCLS signal can only be transmitted on the twisted-pair, using RS422 level.
On the SMB interface, using coaxial cable to transmit 1PPS+TOD (RS232) signal. 75-ohm
unbalanced clock signal and 1PPS+TOD (RS232) signal are multiplex, the interface can support
only one work mode anytime. The device with RJ48 interface supports 120-ohm balanced clock
signal, DCLS signal and 1PPS+TOD (RS422). These signals are multiplex on one RJ48 interface,
the interface can support only one work mode modified through software anytime.
CX61MPUD board provides two RJ48 interfaces, supporting clock information and
time information input and output.
When clock transmission is applied, each one of the two RJ48 interfaces can support: one
channel balanced 2.048 MHz input and ouput, or one channel balanced 2.048 Mbps
input and output. The two RJ48 interfaces are configured separately.
When time transmission is applied, each one of the two RJ48 interfaces can support:
one channel 1PPS+TOD (RS422) input, or one 1PPS+TOD (RS422) output, or one
channel RS422 (DCLS input and output). The two RJ48 interfaces are configured
separately.

The 5 m self-loop cable is with two SMB connectors. If the two device distance is near and in the
same cabinet, you can select this cable to connect with each other.
The length of monitoring cable is 3 m, it’s recommended to keep the AC power supply frame and
chassis within 3 m. Otherwise, can not monitor the AC power supply frame.
Cable ladders can be hung on the ceiling or be supported by the wall. Cable ladders cannot be
supported by the top of the rack. If cable ladders are fixed in other modes, make a remark on the
"others" column.
The lower surfaces of cable ladders must be at least 2.2 m from the installation surface.
Otherwise, the rack is hard to install. When cable ladders are higher than 2.8 m, you need to install
a downward cabling ladder. The bottom of the downward cabling ladder should be 2 m away from
the installation surface.
Downward cabling:
Usually, antistatic floors are laid out in the equipment room if cables are laid out downward.
When there is an exception, lay out cables according to the actual conditions. Otherwise, you must
lay out cabling troughs along the cabling direction, including the cabling troughs from the
broadband devices to the operation terminals.
The cabling mode is related to whether the rodent-proof mesh for the cabinet has cable holes.
Therefore, the availability of cable holes on the rodent-proof mesh must be specified. When
upward cabling is adopted, the cabling racks must be strong and horizontal. The longer side of the
cabling rack must be parallel with the wall surfaces. The end of the downward cabling ladder must
be 2 m away from the installation surface.
If the contract specifies that the cabling racks are to be provided by Huawei, the path of
cabling racks must be marked in the layout of the equipment. Fill in the Survey Datasheet for
Auxiliary Devices and submit it to the configuration department together with the Site Survey
Report.
4. If the customer raises special requirements, which mismatch Huawei's existing products or
cannot be met currently, list these requirements, write them down in the Site Survey
Memorandum, and report these requirements to the local office and headquarters.
For example, whether users have special requirements for the color of power cables and
have strict requirements for the length of optical fibers.
circuit-tracking clock is used, you need to find the optical interface or service interface from
which the circuit-tracking clock source originates.
