All you see is glass
With our pop-in-sliding-door system you can achieve very good u-values depending upon the ratio of frame, door and fixed glazing.
For a typical 10,8m wide and 2,8m high facade with 2 nos. doors and 4 nos. fixed glazed elements the weighted u-values are as
following:
We would like to point out that structural-physical properties of the glass façade alone are not enough to ensure a condensation-free
design. This depends upon the environmental conditions, particularly the relative humidity inside the building.
More than the sum of their characteristics.

Ironmongery
The build-up of the POP-IN units is such, that the glass has adequate resistance against all static and dynamic environmental loads likely to act on them and is thermally
safe against thermal stresses generated by orientation, local shading, solar control, etc.
All toughened glass panels will be heat soak tested either for a minimum of 8 hours at 290 ± 10 ° C average furnace temperature according to DIN 18 516:Part 4 or ac-
cording to the forthcoming European standard EN 14 179-1, i.e. for a minimum period of 4 hours at 280 ° C glass temperature. Heat soaked glass will be certified as such,
marks on the panels and other documentary evidence are supplier specific.
In addition to the applicable regulations, all glass will be subject to visual agreement by the Architect, prior to their purchase, however taking due consideration of permis-
sible production discrepancies, discoloration and distortion and irisation known to be associated with toughened glass under certain polarised lighting conditions. To avoid
any misunderstandings the agreed visual samples will be held as reference to check the quality of any panel installed on site.
External 8 mm toughened glass, screen printing on face #2 (towards cavity) along the glass perimeter, colour as per RAL, all edges polished
39 mm spacer, colour as per RAL, argon-filled cavity, primary sealing of butyl, secondary sealing of silicon
Low-E coating ε = 0.04 on layer #3
Internal 8 mm toughened glass, screen printing on face #3 (towards cavity) along the glass perimeter, colour as per RAL, all edges polished
The alignment of the so-called „roller waves“ which occur during the manufacture of toughened glass takes place in consultation with the Architect - either horizontally or
vertically uniformly.

Materials
All aluminium extrusions are foreseen to be fabricated from aluminium alloy grade 6060 T5 or T6 (* AlMgSi 0,5 *) of adequate thickness and strength.
All aluminium sheets are from aluminium alloy grade J57S (* AlMg1 *), with a minimum thickness of 3 mm, unless specifically noted otherwise.
All construction parts from steel are foreseen to be fabricated from proprietary grade 43 mild steel. The actual grade for all steel parts will be determined according to the
structural and corrosion resistance requirements.
Powder coating is foreseen to be single layer, single colour, with identical colour on inside and outside. Powder coating will be carried out by an applicator approved by the
powder manufacturer.
Surface treatment of the extrusions is carried our before cutting, drilling holes and threads, milling, making cut-outs, etc., whereas surface treatment of sheets and pressed
metal is carried out after cutting, folding, welding, etc.
Hot dip galvanising is carried out in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461.
Powder coating is carried out in accordance with Technical Guidelines established by “GSB International”, the Quality Association for piecework coating of building compo-
nents and coating material or “Qualicoat”, the Association for Quality Control in the Lacquering, Painting and Coating Industry, both acting as certifying authority according to
EN 45 011.
Both organisations define comprehensive quality requirements, assuring the quality of metal parts used in Architectural Applications and monitor their compliance by licensed
plants world-wide. As a result, purchasers of powder coated components receive a premium-grade product delivering long-term value with good quality.
All fixing anchors, bolts, nuts, washers and screws
will be from stainless steel of adequate strength
for their design purpose, unless specifically notes
otherwise. Where these fixings are on the external
face of the cladding or subject to continual exposure
to moisture, they are from stainless steel grade A4.

Our elements are designed to accommodate building tolerances, deflections and thermal
movements. Expansion / contraction joints and couplings are included in our prices and will be
incorporated where necessary. Joint sizes according requirements.
By reasons of experience, we propose to make generous allowance with regards to the
movements and tolerances specified, rather than being too tight, as this helps to avoid later
problems on site.
