Drafting – The process of representing an object or idea by


means of lines having various thickness and make – ups.

Kinds of Drafting
Furniture Drafting – The making of working drawing of the various
types of furniture as well as the design of them.
Architectural Drafting – The making of working drawing plans of
building for residential, business, religious, manufacturing, and
storage purposes.
Electronics/Electrical Drafting – Produces schematic wiring
diagram for either house wiring connections, radio, television,
receiver, and transmitter or the installations of electrically operated
machines.
Airplane Drafting – Concerns the preparation of working drawing
of aircraft including helicopter, plane, rockets, and spaceship.
Ship Drafting -
Structural Drafting – Refers to the making of working drawing of
stell buildings, bridges, tower, etc.
Machine Drafting – Preparation of details and their parts
-mechanical devices, appliances engines
Drafting Objectives
1. To accurate essential skills in freehand drawing and lettering in
creating a simple structural and decorative designs in
sketching pictorial drawings and making into graphic working
sketches.
2. To read and interpret working.
3. To develop one’s power of observation and visualization.
4. To manipulate drawing instruments.

Drawing Paper – This has a hard and smooth surface. A common


drawing paper used is the Oslo paper.
Drafting tapes – This is used for fastening paper to the drawing
board or table.
Eraser – This is used to remove smears, pencil, or ink lines on a
drawing.
Equipment
Drawing Table – This is a table with an adjustable top so that it can
be tilted to a desired angle

Drawing Board – This is where the drawing paper is attached.
