Geophysical Route Survey was carried out from Meren Jacket 102 to Meren WIP
on the 21 June 2018.
All working drawings and coordinates were provided by Chevron Nigeria Limited
(CNL). All depths have been reduced to LAT of the survey area, Ogidigben. The
project was carried out in line with Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) approved Health,
Safety and Environment plan.
The picture below shows the pre - plot survey lines for the Pipeline route.
Mobilization of both personnel and equipment onto the Survey Vessel, MV Batoil
Beagle 1 was on the 29 April 2018 at Taraba Jetty. Equipment Installation and
fabrication work commenced on the same day. On completion of fabrication works,
the survey vessel sailed to Escravos on 1 May, 2018.
Survey activities are as summarised in the table below. Further details of field
operations are shown in the Daily Progress Reports (DPR).

Analog Survey lines were run at line spacing of 25m for mainlines and 200m for
cross lines.
8.1 Bathymetry
The bathymetry data acquired was reduced to LAT using the Ogidigbe tidal
station. Initial observation shows a depth trending South West-North East,
with the highest depth of 16.0m around Meren Jacket 102 (NW of the Survey
The other feature identified on the Survey Route is the Pipeline, all of
the Pipelines show high Magnetic Intensity.
Two (2) Pipelines could be observed entering the Meren Jacket 102
from the North West, while Two (2) Pipelines could be observed existing
it from the South West of the Jacket with one of the Pipelines running
into Meren WIP.
One (1) Pipeline was observed crossing the survey route from Meren
Jacket 102 to Meren Jacket 24 Eastward, at coordinates stated below:

The Survey Team encountered some challenges during the Survey Project
10.1 Weather: The Survey project was carried out during the onset of the
which led to Two (2) days of complete standby, while on some days,
10.2 Power Outage: The vessel posed a challenge during the Survey as the
the rainy season. The period of the vessel documentation was a period
source of concern to the survey team as it led to unease and fear of the
11.2 The survey observed and mapped the locations of seabed and shallow
sub-seabed features.
11.3 For the survey area, no extraordinary risks was observed, however
the inter-connectivity of the pipelines within the route poses a
significant risk that needs to be factored into the general risk
assessment for pipe-lay, emplacement of rigs and work platforms
within the survey area.
11.4 Another potential risk that be factored into the general risk
assessment for pipe-lay, emplacement of rigs and work platforms
