Introduction

We all know that God is a good God and it is the devil who
comes to steal, kill and destroy. What is it that the devil really
wants to steal from the child of God? Well, Beloved, God has an
eternal plan, and his plan is expressed to us over and over in his
Word, which is, of course, the Bible. I believe that what the devil
ultimately wants to steal and destroy is the WILL of God in every
single individual life of any believer. If he can steal the will of God
and the plan of God for individual believers, he thinks he will stop
the believer from going out and teaching and preaching and laying
hands on the sick, and he thinks just maybe he can put off a little
longer the fulfillment of God’s overall plan for the universe -
which is JESUS establishing his kingdom on the earth and the
devil being cast forever into the lake of fire!
We, as children of a glorious and loving Father, often suffer
due to our ignorance of His will. The more we know His will, the
more we can stand in faith and receive all that God has planned for
us. Hallelujah!
Of all the books that Charles and I have written in our years of
ministry, this book, Healing Is For You, is one of the most exciting
to get into print! It is based on a teaching that I recorded years ago,
which has always been our most requested tape or CD. The
anointing of God is so powerful on that tape that countless people
have been healed listening to it! This book will have all of the
content of that teaching set, PLUS what is so exciting is you will
be able to carry it around with you in your coat pocket or in your
purse, and all through the day you can pull it out and read and
speak, over and over and over, the powerful scriptures which seal
in your spirit the WILL of God for your health and life! Glory to
God!
I pray right now that everyone who reads these pages will get
so pumped up in their knowledge of God’s WILL for them that
faith just explodes, and healing manifests all over you, from the
3
inside out and from the top of your head to the soles of your feet.
Thank you, Father, in Jesus name!

Healing Is For You!

Did you know that the word of God is just loaded with
promises about healing? Did you ever go to a doctor and get a
prescription for medicine? Did you ever take the medicine, maybe
one dose, and then decide, “Well, that’s enough?” And then you
discovered you weren’t healed at all and that you probably got
worse than you were before?
The word of God is just exactly like medicine. You need to take
enough of it until you are totally and completely healed. I want you
to look upon every verse of scripture that I give you in this
spiritual feast for healing. I want you to look upon every verse as
another dose of medicine, and I want you to keep taking doses of
medicine until you are totally and completely healed by the word
of God, because this is what God promises. And if God says it, I
believe it how about you? So, remember, the word of God is your
-

medicine! His anointing is on this medicine, and this is one

medicine you can’t overdose on. Hallelujah!

God’s Will Is Total Healing

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, give attention to my words; incline

your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes;
keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who
find them, and health (in Hebrew that means medicine) to all their
flesh.
I think it is the most exciting thing in the world to know that
the word of God is life unto all those that find them and health to
all their flesh! And, did you notice that it didn’t say part, it says all
their flesh! God’s will is total healing.
In the Amplified, it says, My son, attend to my words; consent
and submit to my sayings. Do you see what it says: submit in other
-

4
words, be willing to do what God says. Don’t put up a fight against
God’s word, because His word is exactly what you need! Just be
submissive and receive it. God isn’t going to tell you to do
anything you can’t do!
Let them (God’s words) not depart from your sight; keep them
in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them,
healing and health to all their flesh.
The Living Bible says, Listen, son of mine, to what I say. Listen
carefully. Keep these thoughts ever in mind; let them penetrate
deep within your heart, for they will mean real life for you, and
radiant health.
Glory to God! Radiant health! God doesn’t promise you health
that is just enough to get out of bed, but He promises you radiant
health the kind of health that gives you a glowing testimony of
-

what God has done for you!

I Am Your Healer
Exodus 15:26 it you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your

God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His

commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the
diseases on you which I have brought (or in the Hebrew it says,
“allowed to come”) on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who
heals you.
In Hebrew that means “I am your doctor, your healer, your
physician.” All right, now, who is your doctor? Jesus, the Lord, is
your doctor!
I want you to really get this down in your spirit, so pay
particular attention to the four things that Exodus 15:26 points out
that you need to do. God says that if you diligently (one) heed the
voice of the Lord your God and (two) do what is right in His sight,
(three) give ear to His commandments and (four) keep all His
statutes, I will put (allow) none of the diseases on you which I have
brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.

5
Beloved, God has a plan for your healing, and first in that plan is
for you to look to His word and put it first in your life.
Exodus 23:25-26 says the very same thing: He will take
sickness away from you. So you shall serve the Lord your God, and
He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness
away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be
barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.
The Amplified says, You shall serve the Lord your God; He
shall bless your bread and water, and I will take sickness from your
midst. None shall lose her young by miscarriage or be barren in
your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. Hallelujah! God
never intended and does not want you to be sick, barren, or dying
before your time. He wants you to have a long, productive and
healthy life.

Your Youth Renewed Like the Eagle’s

Deuteronomy 7:15 And the Lord will take away from you all

sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of
Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who
hate you.
Psalm 103:1-5 Bless the Lord, 0 my soul; and all that is

within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, 0 my soul, and
forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who
heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction,
who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, who
satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is
renewed like the eagle’s.
Isn’t that a wonderful promise of God, who heals all your
diseases so that your youth will be renewed like the eagle’s! God
doesn’t say He’ll just heal some of your diseases; God wants to
heal everything that is wrong with you.
I like this scripture in the Amplified, too. “Bless (affectionately,
gratefully praise) the Lord, 0 my soul; and all that is [deepest]
within me, bless His holy name! Bless (affectionately, gratefully
6
praise) the Lord, 0 my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits
-Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each
one of] all your diseases.”
You see, God isn’t interested in healing just one little portion of
you; God wants to heal every single part of you. His will for you is
wholeness! Say this out loud right now with all your heart, “Thank
You, thank You, thank You, Father, for each and every benefit You
have promised me in Your word!”

Stripes

Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely He has borne our griefs (in Hebrew that

means sickness) and carried our sorrows; (in the Hebrew that
means pains) yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and
afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was
bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was
upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
I love the way the Amplified expands our understanding of
these words: “Surely He has borne our griefs sickness, weakness

and distress and carried our sorrows and pain [of punishment].

Yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten and afflicted

by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our
transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the
chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was
upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed
and made whole”.
They put thirty-nine stripes on the back of Jesus when they
scourged Him. And in those stripes in one of those stripes is every
- -

disease that you have. He put there your arthritis, your multiple
sclerosis, your cancer. Whatever you have, Jesus took it in one of
those stripes on His back. All you need to do is appropriate the
word of God and say, “Jesus, You took it for me. I don’t need it. By
Your stripes I was healed. My healing has already been
accomplished. Thank You, Jesus, I am healed.”

7
Beloved, as you read these anointed healing promises and my
comments as we go along, I want you to learn not only the
promises of God, but then I want you to state, in your own words,
what each promise means to you and does for you. When you take
the scriptures yours and speak them, you are releasing the energy
and power of God’s word into your entire body.
Proverbs 4:20 is so powerful we want to give attention to that
one again, because I want to emphasize God’s instructions: “My
son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do
not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your
heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to all
their flesh.” When you find the word of God and you really give it
serious attention and it really connects to your heart, that is where
you are going to find your health.

He Wants You to Live

Proverbs 4:4 - Let your heart retain my words; keep my
commands, and live.
God is saying He wants you to live, and you will do that by
keeping His words down deep inside your spirit. Glory to God! I
want you to say aloud, “Thank you, Father, I am going to live
because I am retaining Your words.” Again, “Thank you, Father, I
am going to live because I am retaining Your words.”

You’re Not Sick

Proverbs 3:33 The curse of the Lord is on the house of the

wicked, but He blesses the habitation of the just.

If you’re blessed, you’re not sick, because sickness is not a
blessing of God. So say this, “Thank You, Father, You have blessed
my habitation, and I am blessed, blessed, blessed; therefore, I am
no longer sick!”

8
Have Favor With God
Proverbs 8:32, 35 - Now therefore, listen to me, my children,
for blessed are those who keep my ways. For whoever finds me
...

finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord.

Do you know that you have favor with God? And when the
favor of God is on you, no evil can harm you. I know that
sometime in your life you have heard the expression said of a
child, “She’s got her daddy wrapped around her little finger.”
That’s one picture of favor.
So, just think of God as your devoted Father, whose favor
makes a way for you to receive all of the blessings He has in His
heart to give you. Now, say this, “Praise the Lord; not only do I
have health, but I also have favor with God!”

My Work Shall Bring Me Life

Proverbs 10:16 The labor of the righteous leads to life, The

wages of the wicked to sin.

Praise the Lord, my work shall bring me life. And I want you to
notice as you read the word of God, many times you will discover
the word “life” in there, and any time you see “life” that means a
full life which is also full health. Say aloud, “My right living and
honest work shall bring me health!”

Live a Long Life

Proverbs 10:27 - The fear of the Lord prolongs days, but the
years of the wicked will be shortened.
Now, Beloved, fear in this context doesn’t mean to be afraid of
God but to honor Him with holy reverence, so say this with
boldness, “Father, I love You and honor You and glorify You with
all my spirit, soul and body. Thank You that I am going to live a
9
long life! Praise You, Praise You, Praise You, Father, for I am
going to live a long and healthy life!”

I Have Strength
Proverbs 10:29 The way of the Lord is strength for the

upright, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.

Praise God! Hallelujah! Because I am walking with the Lord, I
have strength! Say that right now, “The way of the Lord is strength
for the upright, but destruction will come to the workers of
iniquity. Aren’t you glad that you don’t have to accept weakness,
but you can claim strength for all of your entire body because you
are walking with the Lord? Say it again, “Praise God! Because I
am walking with the Lord, I have strength filling all of my body,
from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Thank You, Lord!”

Do Your Words Help You or Hurt You?

Do you know that your mouth can be a snare to your soul, and
to your body, too? You can get up in the morning and say, “Oh, I
feel sick. I feel terrible. My arthritis hurts; everything hurts!” And
do you know what is going to happen? Everything is going to hurt
just exactly like you said! So, let’s remember this: There is one
who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the
wise promotes health. (Proverbs 12:18)
God is both warning us and encouraging us with that scripture.
The tongue of the wise promotes health.
Remember, you can really be trapped by what you say. If you
say, “I am sick,” I guarantee you that you are going to be sick. If
you say, 1 am well,” I guarantee you that you are going to be well.
I want you to know that, just recently, I had the most miserable
sore throat that I have ever had in my entire life, because every
time I would pick up the microphone to record, the devil would
come in and really attack my throat. Finally, I had enough of it, and
I sat at the breakfast table and just screamed at the top of my lungs,
10
“By His stripes I am healed, devil, and you can’t have my throat
anymore!” I want you to know that my throat cleared up instantly
and hasn’t been sore since!
Here’s what it says in the Amplified: There are those who
speak rashly, like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the
wise brings healing. Beloved, the tongue of the wise brings
healing! What does a wise man do? They quote the word of God.
Let’s say this right now, one of the powerful promises we
mentioned from Psalm 103: Bless the Lord, 0 my soul; and forget
not all His benefits; who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all
your diseases... Now, say, “Thank You, Lord, ALL my diseases are
healed!” I want you to start confessing with your mouth right now
and see what happens to you because, just like Proverbs 12:18
says, when you speak God’s word, you are speaking wisely, and
the tongue of the wise is health. As the Amplified said, The tongue
of the wise is healing... Say this now: “I’m speaking God’s word
and healing is mine! God’s word is healing me!”

Speak the Word of God

Proverbs 15:4 - A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but
perverseness in it breaks the spirit. My tongue speaks the word of
God - not doubt and unbelief and complaining! Hallelujah! How
about yours?

Be Deliriously Happy
Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good like a medicine, but

a broken spirit dries the bones. Well, it is time to have joy in your
life, because a merry heart does good like a medicine! When your
heart is happy, you’re going to be administering good medicine to
yourself. And, if you’re in the Lord, you should be deliriously
happy so you are going to have a big, big overdose of the
-

medicine of God!

11
The Amplified says, A happy heart is good medicine and a
cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the
bones. Beloved, that verse tells us something else equally
important: A broken spirit dries up the bones. We could say a
broken spirit robs you of your health. Your spirit is your heart, and
you have to guard your heart against the negative thoughts and
pressures, and even every legitimate sorrow, that the devil wants to
fill your mind with. Jesus can’t guard your thoughts FOR YOU.
YOU have to cast down every thought that is contrary to God’s
word and His perfect will that He expresses over and over for you
(2 Corinthians 10:5).
YOU have to be determined to focus on the health and
happiness and wholeness that your devoted heavenly Father wants
you to have.

Straighten Out Your Thinking

Here is a good scripture to help you straighten out your
thinking because the devil can be really persistent in trying to

take over your mind with the negative. Philippians 4:8 tells us how
to do that: Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever
things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are
pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good
report, if there s any virtue and if there is anything praise-worthy—

meditate on these things.

It is absolutely impossible to be depressed, downhearted and

defeated when you do what that scripture says! You can’t be
resentful or angry or fearful, or harbor any of those health-robbing
negative attitudes, when you develop a conscious effort to think on
God’s word. His word and all these wonderful promises to you are
true, and noble, and just, and pure. His word is lovely and is
always a good report! His word is virtuous and praiseworthy!
Hallelujah!

12
If you can’t raise your arm, raise a finger and thank the Lord
you can raise that finger. There is always something you can DO to
turn around those negative thoughts and to be thankful and happy
about things that are positive, while you are standing on God’s
word for your complete healing.
By the way, laughter is also necessary to develop a merry heart.
And if you need some help to give you some really good laughter
medicine, read our book, Healing Through Humor! A cheerful
mind is going to work healing in your body! Glory to God! And
remember, a cheerful heart is also a thankful heart!
Say this with all the gusto you’ve got, “Glory to God! My mind
is going to be cheerful, and I am going to be happy! Lord, I’m
going to praise You, I’m going to love You, I’m going to worship
You! Thank You for Your word! Thank You for Your love! Thank
You for all You have provided for me!”

Speak Life
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the

tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Hallelujah, say this
right now: “I’ve got life in my tongue. I don’t speak death; I speak
life. I’m going to be watching my words very carefully, and I will
reap the benefits of my mouth producing words full of faith and
power.”
Proverbs 19:23 The fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who

has it will abide in satisfaction; he will not be visited with evil.

Praise God, because reverence for the Lord brings life, and not just
a struggling, defeated life, but a life of satisfaction. I’m not
satisfied when I’m sick, are you? I believe that God wants a person
whose life is one of honor to the Lord to be full and satisfying.
Proverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches

and honor and life. That is such an exciting promise, because it

says you are not only going to be healthy, but you’re going to have
riches and honor as well, by humility and fear of the Lord! These

13
are all ours, because God wouldn’t put it in His word if He didn’t
mean it!

Health That Doesn’t Wither

One of my favorite scriptures on healing is one that a lot of
people don’t realize really concerns healing. A lot of people think it
concerns prosperity. And it does, but actually, it concerns both
because it says: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of
the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of
the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, (the word of
God) and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a
tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its
season, whose leaf also shall not wither (Psalm 1:1-3).
Did you see that? His leaf also shall not wither. What does that
mean, his leaf also shall not wither? What makes a leaf wither and
die?
When a leaf is not getting nourishment from the vine, then it
withers and it dies. The scripture tells us where the leaf gets its
nourishment from abiding in the word of God and meditating on it

day and night. And the leaf is also healthy because of rejecting the
poisons of sin. If a beautiful fruit tree feeds on poison, it is going to
wither and die. It will not produce fruit, the leaves will dry up, and
then the roots will dry up, and the entire tree will die. But, when a
tree is well nourished and watered, and it is tended to and guarded
from all the things that can attack a tree, it will produce a beautiful
abundance of fruit.
I want you to say this right now and mean it with all your heart:
“I don’t seek counsel or direction from the ungodly. I have no
desire to copy the behavior of sinners. I don’t hang around with
scorners of God’s word. Father, I delight myself in Your word. I
think about You all the time, and I am going to speak Your word all
the time. My leaf shall not wither! I will bear good fruit! I will be
healthy! Whatever I do shall prosper! Hallelujah!”

14
Beloved, you may wonder why I am emphasizing some of the
same truths over and over and having you say them over and over.
Do you know that the only way we ever learn is through
repetition? So, if you are reading and saying the same thing or
similar things over and over again, you are going to remember
these things, and you’re going to overflow with the power of the
word of God!

Strength and Peace Given

Psalm 29:11 — The Lord will give strength to His people; the
Lord will bless His people with peace. Glory to God for His
strength! The Lord WILL give strength. It doesn’t say, “Oh, maybe
He will” or “Sometimes He will and sometimes He won’t...” It
says the Lord WILL give strength to His people. So, in the name of
Jesus, get up and walk right now because you have strength!
And the Lord will bless His people with peace. You don’t have
to beg and plead for peace; God has given you peace; it is yours
right now and you can have it every single minute of every single
day.

You Are Healed

Psalm 30:2 0 Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You

healed me. Do you know what I want you to say right now? I don’t
want you to cry unto the Lord because you’ve done that. I want
you to say, “Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord, because You have
healed me. I praise You, Lord, because You healed me. I worship
You, Lord, because You healed me. Oh, thank You, Lord, for the
promises of God! Thank You, Lord, for the promises of God.
Thank You, Father, for You have healed me!”

15
God is a Sun and Shield

Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will

give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those
who walk uprightly. Is your health a good thing? Is your healing a
good thing? YES, it is! One of the most important things to you
right now is to be healed. So the Bible says, No good thing will He
withhold from those who walk uprightly. Nothing is going to be
withheld from you, including your healing. Isn’t that a wonderful
promise of God?

GOD WANTS YOU TO BE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT

HE WANTS YOU WELL AND WHOLE.

Healed by His Word

Psalm 107:20 He sent His word and healed them... The word

of God can heal you. When the word of God becomes quickened in
your heart, the word of God can heal you. Do you know the best
way I know of to really make the word of God quicken in your
heart? SAY the verses out loud, just as I’ve been encouraging you
to do all through these pages. If you will go over these scriptures
and say them over and over, you will soon know every verse here
by memory, and God’s word is going to heal you when it becomes
so real inside of you that it drives out every single doubt and every
single fear!
When you constantly keep putting His word back into your
mind, and back into your mind, you are renewing your mind; and
then when a negative thought comes, you automatically reject it
and you speak the word of God! And you also begin to refuse the
right of physical pain to exist in your body. Pain doesn’t have any
rights over you; pain doesn’t dominate the word of God; the word
of God dominates pain! The word of God is what created the
universe, and its creative power is working in your body!

16
You see the word of God with your eyes, you speak it with
your mouth, and you hear it with your ears. Then the word takes its
proper position of authority over any negative force. As a matter of
fact, what I would like to suggest is that you get a tape recorder, or
now there are little digital recorders, and I suggest you record your
own voice saying all of these healing scriptures, and then listen to
your own voice as you look at the word of God. There is going to
be such tremendous improvement in your health so fast it is going
to be difficult for you to believe. Praise God for His word! Thank
You, Thank You, Thank You, Father, for Your word! Just think of
it, thousands of years ago, God caused men chosen of God to write
down and protect and hide away for the future the Holy Word of
God, so that one day, we would all have access to all of His
promises for our lives. Glory to God!

Heartaches Healed
Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their

wounds. You see, not only does God want to heal your physical
body, but He wants to heal your heartaches as well. God is the
mighty Creator, but He is your Father, and that’s the role He loves
best. He is compassionate. He is gentle. He is loving. He is kind.
He is giving and forgiving, and He is generous. From the Bible’s
cover to cover, God expresses His desire to bless us and meet all of
our needs in body, soul and spirit.

Save the Sick

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the

Lord will raise him up. Lord, right now I pray the prayer of faith:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I stand upon the word of God
because You said You sent Your word and healed them, and I ask
You to heal every person who reads this book. And I just thank You
for it, and I praise Your Holy Name.

17
He Lives in You
I Peter 2:24 Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on

the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness —

by whose stripes you were healed. Hallelujah, it’s done! It’s

finished! It’s completed! I was healed! What did Jesus do? Jesus
went all about Galilee teaching in the synagogue and preaching the
gospel of the kingdom and healing all manner of sickness and all
manner of disease among the people (Matthew 4:23). And He’s the
same Jesus today as He was then. Except now you don’t have to go
around looking for Him and trying to get Him to touch you,
because He’s living inside you. Jesus has done it for you, He lives
in you, and His life is in the word of God!

Covenant Promise
Exodus 23:25 I will take sickness away from the midst of you.

Thank You, Lord, for this promise! Beloved, this is a Covenant

promise. Once you surrender your heart and life to Jesus, you
receive all that those stripes and His shed blood provided for you.
You are in an eternal covenant with the Healer. Glory to God!

Power to Cure Diseases

Luke 9:1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and

gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure
diseases. Jesus gave power to His disciples, and anyone who is a
follower of Jesus is still a disciple. So if you have the baptism with
the Holy Spirit, you have the power to cure diseases. Then, He sent
them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Thank
You, Jesus, for that power! If you are not healed by the time you
finish with this book, I want you to go and let one of the elders of
your church lay hands on you and just believe, because Jesus gave
us authority to heal the sick.

18
I Will Live and Not Die
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord
(Psalm 118:17). Look at those words and put them into your heart.
Say them, say them, say them. If you have a fatal disease, stand on
this word. If you have cancer, stand on this word: I shall not die,
but live, and declare the works of the Lord. God wants you to live
so you can go tell everybody all He has done for you!

Nothing Too Difficult

Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is

there anything too hard for me? Beloved, is the flu too hard for
God? He says it isn’t! Is cancer too hard for God? Absolutely not!
Is diabetes, or heart disease, or arthritis too hard for God? He says
NO, they’re not too hard for Him!

The Lord Was Ready

and He Healed Me!

I think this is such a beautiful story of a healing. In Isaiah
38:20, it says, The Lord was ready to save me. In the Living Bible,
it says, Think of it! The Lord healed me! Hallelujah! Isn’t that
exciting to know that you have been healed by God? King
Hezekiah was dying, and when the Lord healed him, he was so
excited and grateful just to know that the Lord was ready and
willing and that He really had healed him. God wants to heal you!
God does not want anybody to be sick!

Prosper In All Things

3 John 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things

and be in health, just as your soul prospers. Just as the Holy Spirit
said through John, I say to you, I want you to study this word of
19
God. I want you to read these healing scriptures over and over
again and say them over and over until you are so completely
saturated with the word of God that it is just running all over and
out of you, out of your mouth, out of your eyes, out of your ears;
and then be sure and thank Him, be sure and praise Him for the
very fact that He has healed you. Then you can say like Hezekiah,
“Oh, praise the Lord, just think of it, He was willing and He has
healed me!”

The Fast That Heals You

Isaiah 58 is real interesting because it tells you how to keep
healthy and because there are conditions to every promise that God
has. I believe that it is just as necessary to maintain your healing as
it is to get your healing, and this is a beautiful passage that tells
you how to keep healthy.
Isaiah 58:6-11 (TLB) says, No, the kind of fast! want is that
you stop oppressing those who work for you and treat them fairly
and give them what they earn. I want you to share your food with
the hungry and bring right into your own homes those who are
helpless, poor and destitute. Clothe those who are cold, and don’t
hide from relatives who need your help. If you do these things, God
will shed his own glorious light upon you. He will heal you; your
godliness will lead you forward, and goodness will be a shield
before you, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.
Then, when you call, the Lord will answer. “Yes, I am here,” he
will quickly reply. (In other words, you are going to get your
prayers answered.) All you need to do is to stop oppressing the
weak, and to stop making false accusations and spreading vicious
rumors! Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble! Then your light
will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you
shall be as bright as day. And the Lord will guide you continually,
and satisfy you with all good things and keep you healthy too; and
you will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.

20
Isn’t that a fantastic promise of God! And all we have to do is what
we should be doing anyway!
Many times, different translations speak to you in different
ways, and this Isaiah 58 passage is so good we need to read it
again and again, so look at the New King James version: Is this not
the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to
undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you
break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when
you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from
your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness
shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
(Did you notice: Your healing shall spring forth speedily!) Then
you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will
say, “Here I am.” If you take away the yoke from your midst, the
pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, if you extend your
soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light
shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the
noonday. The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your
soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a
watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not
fail. You are going to be like living water when you do the things
that God tells you are important for you to do as His child!

Keep Your Family Healthy

Let’s read Psalm 128 from the Living Bible and see how to extend
God’s healing blessing to our family. Blessings on all who
reverence and trust the Lord on all who obey Him! Their reward

shall be prosperity and happiness. Your wife shall be contented in

your home. And look at all those children! There they sit around
the dinner table as vigorous and healthy as young olive trees. That
is God’s reward to those who reverence and trust Him. May the
Lord continually bless you with heaven’s blessings as well as with
21
human joys. May you live to enjoy your grandchildren! And may
God bless Israel!

Isn’t that wonderful? God tells you how to keep your family
healthy because it says blessings on all (that’s you) who reverence
and trust the Lord, on all who obey Him, (and) their reward is
going to be prosperity and happiness. Your wife (or husband) is
going to be contented and your children are going to be healthy.
Isn’t it beautiful that not only you can be healthy, but your family
can be healthy as well!
Let’s read this in the New King James version: Blessed is every
one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. When you eat the
labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with
you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your
house, your children like olive plants all around your table.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord. The
Lord bless you out of Zion, and may you see the good of Jerusalem
all the days of your life. Yes, may you see your children’s children.
Peace be upon Israel!

From No Hope to Great Grandmother!

I have to stop at this point right now and tell you something
that I think might be of tremendous interest to you. Many, many
years ago, doctors gave me two months to live. My children were
still living at home. The doctors said there was absolutely no hope
whatsoever. I had two diseases, both of which are fatal. One was
called Addison’s Disease and the other one Myxedema. I didn’t
even look like a human being. By the time nightfall came, my skin
had turned so dark that it was almost impossible to recognize me, it
was such a horrible gray color. There were many times when I
would fall sound asleep sitting in a chair, and I would sometimes
sleep for three days without anyone ever being able to wake me up.
I remember, I cried out to God —and this was before I became a
Christian. As a matter of fact, this was years before I became a
22
Christian, but I remember crying out to God one night, and I said,
“Oh, God! Let me live long enough to raise my children.”
And God, in His love and His mercy and His grace, healed me.
There was never again any sign of Myxedema, and never any sign
of Addison’s Disease. But the thing that really turned me on about
that little psalm was the verse that said that I could even enjoy my
grandchildren. That just really gets me so excited because it says
that you are not only going to live to raise your children, but you
are going to live to enjoy your grandchildren as well. I just praise
the Lord for not only letting me finish raising my daughter and my
son but for letting me enjoy lots and lots of grandchildren, and
later on came great grandchildren, and it seems like more are
always on the way! And, glory to God, I’m expecting to live to see
all of them raised unless Jesus comes back, and then we’ll all be
taken at the same time to be with Him! Hallelujah!

How Much Faith Is Involved?

I have to be honest with you. I do not know the exact amount
of faith that you need to be healed, because sometimes I’ve seen
people who didn’t have any faith at all, and yet they were healed.
Other times, I’ve seen people that I thought had great faith, and
apparently they weren’t. But the word of God has a lot to say about
praying with faith and believing. We must add to our faith. We
don’t get in a rut or get comfortable because we see God do
something great once in our lives — we always need to keep
growing.
You might be thinking, “I don’t have as much faith as you.”
Oh, yes, you do! 2 Peter 1 says we all have the same measure of
faith from God. We don’t have to wish that we had the same kind
of faith as another person, because we already do. But it is what we
add to our faith that makes it seem greater. I have a lot more faith
today than the day I was saved. Do you know why? Because I have
stepped out in that faith, I have let God do what He wanted to do,
and then when I see God perform what He says He is going to
23
perform, then my faith really stretches out. Let me give you a very
good example of that.
God has given Charles and me a tremendous ministry in back
healings. Often we have people stand up and measure their arms,
because many times a back problem is revealed in either a short
arm or a short leg. The first time I prayed for somebody that came
up with a short arm, I have to be honest with you, I prayed and I
don’t even know if I believed it or not! I think probably, more than
anything else, I was standing there hoping that God would do
something. And then God did it! The arm grew out!
What do you think happened to my faith? My faith really grew
because I prayed and God did it. And the little measure of faith that
God gave me when I was saved grew, because I added to it. I gave
God more and more opportunities to prove that His word is
actually true. Today, Charles and I have 100% faith for back
problems. There isn’t a back problem in the world that Charles and
I don’t pray for and believe with our minds and our hearts and our
strength that God is going to heal!

Jesus Gives Us Faith

2 Peter 1:1 from the Living Bible says, From Simon Peter, a
servant and missionary of Jesus Christ. To all of you who have our
kind of faith. The faith I speak of is the kind that Jesus Christ our
God and Savior gives to us. How precious it is, and how just and
good He is to give this same faith to each of us. You see, God gives
to each one of us exactly the same measure of faith, but all you
need to do is to just add a little bit to it, and try Him and test Him
and prove Him.

Building On Your Faith

Verse 5 goes on to tell you how to obtain more faith. First, you
need more than faith; you must learn to know God better and
discover what He wants you to do. In other words, get into the
24
word of God because there is absolutely nothing that will give you
more faith or will build your faith more than when you read the
Bible in a personal way. Peter says, You must learn to know God
better and discover what He wants you to do. How do you know
what God has for you or what He wants you to do unless you get
into His word?
Next, verses 6 and 7 instruct us how to add to our faith. First, it
says to learn to put aside your own desires. Then, the New King
James says, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to
knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to
perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to
brotherly kindness love. There are many times that I think we need
to have our faith layered. Faith just isn’t complete in itself.
Sometimes we put down one little tiny layer of faith, and then we
wonder why we don’t have more results. You need to put down a
second layer, a third, a fourth, a fifth, adding the other attributes of
godly character, so that you keep building on your faith until your
faith is at that point where it will literally explode!

A Point of Contact
Many times we need a point of contact, or a touching point, to
release our faith. I remember many, many years ago, a lady was
very, very sick and was not expected to live. She was bedfast, and
she sent word to me and said, “If Frances could just come to my
house, and I could just touch the hem of her garment, I know I
would be healed.” Beloved, I want you to know there is not a thing
in the hem of my garment, not a single, solitary thing. But that was
a touching point for this woman.
I went over to her house, and I remember that she didn’t even
have a box spring under her bed. There was only a mattress that
she was lying on in the middle of the floor of the living room.
When I walked over and started to kneel down, she touched the
end of my dress. That was a touching point for her, and her faith
instantly healed her! She rose up from that death bed and began to
25
enjoy beautiful and radiant health. Why? Because her faith got to
the point where she said, “If I could just touch the hem of Frances’
garment, I would be healed and I know it!” You see, her faith
reached a point; her faith reached a condition. She had the faith of
God to begin with, just that little tiny measure, but she kept hearing
about the healings that had been happening in our ministry and
that’s why she said she knew that God would heal her.

God Is Your Healer

God declares Himself as the one who heals. Let the power in
these scriptures minister to you...
Exodus 15:26 For I am the Lord who heals you.

2 Kings 20:5 I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you.

Isaiah 57:18, 19 I have seen his ways, and will fleal him; I

will also lead him, and restore comforts to him and to his
mourners. I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace to him who is
far off

and to him who is near, says the Lord, and I will heal him. I will
heal him.

Words That Promote Healing

Beloved, God wants you to be aware that the tone and attitude
and spirit behind your words can actually hurt or help you.
Proverbs 16:24 (Amplified) says, Pleasant words are as a
honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body. Let me take
a moment and teach you something very important. You know,
many times, people who are sick get cross and irritable. When you
don’t feel good, you don’t really feel like being real nice, do you?
But I want you to remember that if you will keep your words

26
pleasant as honeycomb and purpose to keep your words sweet,
they will be a healing force to the mind and body.
The Living Bible says, Kind words are like honey enjoyable

and healthful. Just remember that whenever you feel like saying
something that is not nice! Remember that it isn’t going to do you
a bit of good to act ugly, because pleasant words are healing to the
body, and hateful words are going to do just the opposite!
We mentioned Proverbs 12:18 earlier. There are those who
speak rashly, like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the
wise brings healing. Watch what you say! Always speak positively,
and speak on the healing power of God. Look for the promises of
God, and don’t be going around saying negative things about
yourself, or about anyone else either!
Proverbs 15:4 (Amplified) says, A gentle tongue [with its
healing power] is a tree of life, but willful contrariness in it breaks
down the spirit. You see, a gentle tongue has healing power;
therefore, you are a tree of life with branches that will bless
yourself and others as well with your gentle spirit.
In the Living Bible, the same scripture says, Gentle words
cause life and health; griping brings discouragement. Make sure
your words are gentle. Make sure they are pleasant. Make sure you
have a merry heart. All of these things add together to give you
good health, and they can even affect the well-being of your loved
ones around you.
Proverbs 15:30 (Amplified) tells us that: The light in the eyes
[of him whose heart is joyful] rejoices the hearts of others, and
good news nourishes the bones. The Living Bible says, Good
reports give happiness and health. In other words, if you will speak
the word of God, and speak it in joy, and speak the promises in
love, you will even minister healing to others.
The New King James says it slightly differently: The light of
the eyes rejoices the heart, and a good report makes the bones
healthy. Do you have arthritis? Do you have osteoporosis? All of
these instructions on pleasant words, a merry heart, a good report
and cheerful attitude will give health and strength to your bones!
27
Here I Am Alive!
In the Living Bible, Psalms 30:2, David is talking to the Lord
and he says, 0 Lord my God, I pleaded with you, and you gave me
my health again. You brought me back from the brink of the grave,
from death itself, and here I am alive! Glory to God! Isn’t that
beautiful to know that you can cry unto God and He will give you
your health again? I always put my name in there and I just say,
“Lord, I pleaded with You and You gave me my health again. Oh,
thank You, Lord, I am just so grateful. I just love You, I praise You
and I worship You. Thank You, Father, for the fact that You heal
bodies even in the 20th Century. We’ll give You the praise and the
glory, Father, because we know that You do it all.”
Glowing Health
Here is a wonderful report of the results of a vibrant
relationship with God. In Daniel 2:20, the Living Bible says,
Daniel praised the God of heaven saying, “Blessed be the name”.
Do you notice throughout the Bible that all the people who had real
contact with God praised Him, and that’s what you need to do!
Praise God, praise God, praise God! Daniel said, Blessed be the
name of God forever and ever, for He alone has all wisdom and
power. World events are under his control. He removes kings and
sets others on their thrones. He gives wise men their wisdom, and
scholars their intelligence. He reveals profound mysteries beyond
man’s understanding. He knows all hidden things, for he is light,
and darkness is no obstacle to him. I thank and praise you, 0 God
of my fathers, for you have given me wisdom and glowing health,
and now, even this vision of the king’s dream, and the
understanding of what it means.
Did you notice those words, glowing health? Daniel was just a
young man, and yet he overflowed with genuine devotion and
thanksgiving to the God he loved and served. Isn’t it wonderful to
know that when your heart and soul reach up to God with praise
and appreciation and gratitude, that is an attitude that will bring
forth glowing health!
28
Radiant Health
Beloved, I believe we are in the End Times right now.
Zachariah 9:16, 17 talks about the end times, and it tells you what
kind of health God’s children are going to have. The Living Bible
says, The Lord their God will save his people in that day, as a
Shepherd caring for his sheep. They shall shine in his land as
glittering jewels in a crown. How wonderful and beautiful all shall
be! The abundance of grain and grapes will make the young men
and girls flourish; they will be radiant with health and happiness.
Hallelujah, we shall be radiant with health and happiness!

Vigorous Health
Let’s see what Isaiah 66:10-14 tells us in the Living Bible:
Rejoice with Jerusalem; be glad with her, all you who love her, you
who mourned for her. Delight in Jerusalem; drink deep of her
glory even as an infant at a mother’s generous breasts. Prosperity
shall overflow Jerusalem like a river, says the Lord, for I will send
it; the riches of the Gentiles will flow to her. Her children shall be
nursed at her breasts, carried on her hips and dandied on her
knees. I will comfort you there as a little one is comforted by its
mother. When you see Jerusalem, your heart will rejoice; vigorous
health will be yours.
And when you see Jerusalem... what is that? That is the
kingdom of God. When you see Jerusalem, your heart will rejoice
and vigorous health will be yours. I think that it is so wonderful
that the heart of God lets us know that vigorous health is His desire
and plan for us. I claim that vigorous health right now, Father,
because that means I can just continue an exciting and productive
ministry, laying hands on the sick and anointing believers and
teaching the Word of God. Charles and I are going to have
vigorous and glowing health!

29
Restored Health
Jeremiah 30:17 says, For I will restore health to you and heal
you of your wounds, says the Lord... Say this aloud right now: “I
will restore health to you!” God promises to restore health to you
and, He says, heal you of your wounds. Whatever the devil has
stolen from you, or whatever has happened to you, inside or out,
body or soul, God wants you to be restored to perfect health!

Healing and Health to All Your Flesh

Proverbs 4:20 says: My son, attend to my words; consent and
submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep
them in the center of your heart. Keep the word of God right in the
center of your heart, for they are life to those who find them,
healing and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart
with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow
the springs of life. Out of a pure heart shall flow springs of life!
Remember, not a condemning or criticizing or spiteful heart, not a
complaining heart but out of a heart that you guard and purpose

to keep pure, shall flow springs of life!

Did you know that water that comes up from a spring never
dries up? This is because the water makes its way up to the surface
of the ground from its source way down underneath the earth. The
water pushes through, and a spring bubbles up; and it will create a
creek or branch that will never dry up and never freeze, because it
is always fresh and moving.
This is what the word of God does when you put it into your
heart. It is an active force, and it comes bubbling up and out with
fresh life that affects your flesh all over your body. The word of
God produces springs of life for all your flesh!

30
Life-Giving Moisture
Proverbs 3:7 (Amplified) instructs us to: Be not wise in your
own eyes, reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely]
away from evil. That’s what God says for you to do. That’s your
part. But now look what God says He will do: It shall be health to
your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your
bones.
Do you know what happens to your bones when they get dry?
They get brittle; they break. And when that life flowing substance
is taken out of the marrow of your bones, then you are not going to
be around much longer.
If you have bone problems or nerve problems, and if there is
any sin in your life that has not been dealt with, repent right now.
That includes the sin of unforgiveness toward anyone. Take care of
it with God before you do anything else, and God will instantly
forgive you. You will be a brand new creation. Then you need to
let go of anything in the past, and turn every part of your mind and
body over to the Lord. God’s word provides life- giving moisture
of the Holy Spirit, springs of living water, which is necessary for
you to be healed in every part of your being.

Renewed Health and Vitality

If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for
good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely;
don’t ever trust yourself. In everything that you do, put God first,
and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success. Don’t
be conceited, sure of your own wisdom. instead, trust and
reverence the Lord, and turn your back on evil; when you do that,
then you will be given renewed health and vitality (Proverbs 3:4-8
TLB).
When you trust the Lord more than you trust yourself, and you
put Him absolutely first in your life, you are going to be given
renewed health and vitality! Doesn’t that really make you excited?
31
Thank You, Father, that I’m going to walk in health and vitality all
the days of my life!

A Thankful Heart
In the 38th chapter of Isaiah, there is a touching story about
Hezekiah. I want you to remember this, because there are so many
of the conditions of God that occur when you do certain things. In
other words, if you will do what the word of God says, then God is
going to do His part.
Just prior to this incident, God had given Hezekiah a great
supernatural victory over his enemies. But apparently, not long
afterwards, the scripture says, Hezekiah was sick and near death.
Well, since Hezekiah was a good king, and he had gone to Isaiah
before when his enemies were upon him, and God had intervened,
he thought he would summon for Isaiah and ask him to go to God
on his behalf once again.
So Isaiah went to visit Hezekiah and gave him a message from
the Lord. The message was, Set your house in order, for you shall
die and not live. Now, that is not the message that anyone wants to
hear from a prophet, is it?
But, then Hezekiah cried out to the Lord and, afterward, this is
how he described the experience (verses 13-20, TLB): All night I
moaned; it was like being torn apart by lions. Delirious, I
chattered like a swallow and mourned like a dove; my eyes grew
weary of looking up for help. “0 God,” I cried, “I am in trouble —

help me.” But what can I say? For he himself has sent this
sickness. All my sleep has fled because of my soul’s bitterness.
(Bitterness can really cause illnesses.) 0 Lord, your discipline is
good and leads to life and health. Oh, heal me and make me live!
Did you notice what Hezekiah said? Your discipline is good
because it leads to life and health. In other words, when you obey
the word of God, you are going to be healthy. Yes, now I see it all—

it was good for me to undergo this bitterness, for you have lovingly
delivered me from death; you have forgiven all my sins. For dead
32
men cannot praise you. They cannot be filled with hope and joy.
The living, only the living, can praise you as I do today. One
generation makes known your faithfulness to the next. Think of it!
The Lord healed me! Every day of my life from now on I will sing
my songs of praise in the Temple, accompanied by the orchestra
(Isaiah 38:13-20 TLB).
Now, Isaiah does not give all the details, but apparently
Hezekiah knew that there was some sin in his life that he had not
dealt with. He repented and humbly received God’s discipline and
forgiveness. Then God healed him. God doesn’t put sickness on
people; sin opens doors to sickness. But God honors obedience and
repentance. And, this is what I think is so beautiful look at the

sincerity of Hezekiah’s gratitude as he says, Think of it! The Lord

healed me! And then he goes on and pledges: Every day of my life
from now on I will sing my songs of praise...
Are you willing to do that? Are you willing to spend the rest of
your life praising God and singing songs of praise to Him because
of what He has done for you? I think it’s so wonderful when the
Lord heals you that we just go out and we just tell everybody what
God has done in our life. Our thankful heart is always noticed by
God, and our testimonies are going to help other people to receive
faith for their own healing. Glory to God!

Believe, Believe, Believe!

As we have gone through these tremendous healing promises
and glorious testimonies that are so abundant throughout the Bible,
you may have already been healed; hallelujah! But if you haven’t
yet, you keep going back to God’s word and keep saying all of
these life-giving, healing promises over and over and over. Jesus
heals all kinds of people with all kinds of problems. It doesn’t
make any difference what your healing is that you need, because
there is not anything too hard for God! Believe that Jesus is going
to do it, and He will do it!

33
Because this is such a wonderful encouragement from God, I
want us to go back once more to that beautiful passage in Psalms
1:1-3: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the
ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the
scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he
meditates day and night.
Get into the word of God, meditate day and night. Read it, and
re-read it, over and over again.
Don’t just read it in one version; read every Bible that you can
get your hands on. Read it until, all of a sudden, it leaps in your
heart!
All those promises of God are commands of healing if you will
receive them. Keep them before your eyes and keep saying them.
Let those commands of healing energy go out constantly on your
behalf. Then something will happen!
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that
brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither.
That is your promise for health. You are not going to be sick. You
are not going to wither, and you’re not going to fall off the vine.
And whatsoever he does shall prosper. Your health is going to
prosper! You are going to continue to produce fruit for the glory of
God!
Say this right now and praise God for it!
“I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord.
Hallelujah! Glory to God! I’m not going to die! That cancer is not
going to get me! That incurable disease is not going to get me!
Because the word of God says, I shall not die but live and declare
the works of the Lord.”
From Genesis to Revelation, God gives you His position on
healing: He wants you well! It is His will! He wants it to happen!
He lets you know anything that you need to do on your end and —

it’s always simple and then He lets you know what He will do on
-

His end.
I believe with all my heart that God is excited about you
getting healed! He can hardly wait for you to get His truth and His
34
promises into your heart so that SPRINGS OF LIFE will flow up
and all over you! He wants you to live and to declare His goodness
to everyone all the rest of your days!
He sent His word and healed them. Make this confession now:
“Father, Thank You that Your word is working in me and You
are healing me! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, in Jesus
name!”
There is healing in His wings! I want to pray for you right now.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I speak the word of healing to
everyone who reads this book and who needs Your touch. Touch
them, Jesus. And we thank You and praise You. Amen.

Healing In His Wings

Praise the Lord! The word of God is like medicine. Faith
comes by hearing and hearing nd seeing and seeing and saying
- a -

and saying the word of God. All of those precious promises for
health and healing belong to every single child of God. There is
enough power in the word of God, in the promises we just read, to
heal every person on this planet!
Keep the word of God in your ears, and before your eyes and
on your lips. Oftentimes you will hear me say, “Faith cometh by
hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing and
hearing and hearing the word of God! You can never listen to the
word of God too much. You can never read the word of God too
much. You can never absorb the word of God too much because
there is healing in the word of God!
I love what the Bible says in Malachi 4:2, But to you who fear
My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His
wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.
The Living Bible says, But for you who fear my name, the Sun
of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will
go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. Don’t you
know that when God heals you of a terminal illness, you will feel

35
like running and leaping like those little calves playing in the open
pasture!
I want you to think very seriously about a time of fasting and
praying and spending that time meditating on and confessing the
healing scriptures of God. I believe with my heart and soul in the
power of demonstrating that you are serious about receiving your
healing. If you will attend to these scriptures for three days and if
you will fast for those three days, setting yourself apart from all
distractions, I do not believe that there is any disease in the world
that can come against you. Nor do I believe that there is any
disease that can prevail in your body under those circumstances.
Too many times, we have just not trusted the word of God, and
we have not believed what God says. We don’t really believe that
the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. For
us to not believe must bring tears to God’s eyes, for God can not
lie.

Jesus the Healer

In the Old Testament, the Sun of Righteousness is referring to
Jesus. Jesus had not been born physically yet, but all through the
Old Testament and the prophets, there are references to Jesus the
Savior and Jesus the Healer.
In the word of God, there is healing for whatever problem you
have in your life. God doesn’t want you to be sick. I believe it. I
know it! The more time you spend learning to know God better,
the more you just know that He does not want his children sick,
poor, or dying before their time.
I want us to examine some of the scriptures in the New
Testament that I believe will firmly convince you of the fact that
God does not want you to be sick. Jesus came to save us totally,
and that includes healing. In those stripes that he suffered on His
back, He took every single disease that you have. It doesn’t make
any difference at all whether it’s cancer, whether it’s epilepsy,
whether it’s diabetes, whether it’s arthritis, whether it’s a brain
36
tumor He took every disease because it is not God’s will for you to
-

be sick.
Look what Jesus did everywhere He went. Matthew 4:23, 24
says, Now Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their
synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all
kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then
His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all
sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments,
and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics;
and He healed them.
What did Jesus do? He healed them.
Now look at the same passage in the Living Bible: Jesus
traveled all through Galilee teaching in the Jewish synagogues,
everywhere preaching the Good News about the Kingdom of
Heaven. And he healed every kind of sickness and disease. The
report of his miracles spread far beyond the borders of Galilee so
that sick folk were soon coming to be healed from as far away as
Syria. And whatever their illness and pain, or if they were
possessed by demons, or were insane, or paralyzed —he healed
them all.
The word of God says, He healed them all.
That’s exactly why I believe that God intends for you to be
healed. I want you to notice something else. Did you notice just
before the fact is mentioned that He went around healing them all,
that He went everywhere preaching the Good News about the
Kingdom of Heaven?
There are many times when I believe that people do not get
healed because they do not understand the word of God. They will
try to quote one verse of scripture and they won’t be healed, and
they can’t understand why they are not healed.
I believe that you need an understanding of more of the word
of God than just a verse out of the context, to help you really see
what God said and what God did and what Jesus did in the area of
healing.

37
Let me just show you some things from the eighth chapter of
Matthew. When God put us in the miracle ministry, this is one of
the chapters that Charles and I studied over and over and over and
over again. Do you know why? Because Jesus didn’t always heal
in the same way.
When you are out in a ministry where people come to you for
healing, you need to know: How did Jesus heal? You can’t expect
it to happen the same way every time, because Jesus didn’t do it
the same way every time. The most important thing is to let the
sick know that God has a way for you to be healed.

Jesus is Willing to Heal You

Matthew chapter 8 begins, When He had come down from the
mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper
came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You
can make me clean.”
Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am
willing, be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your
way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses
commanded, as a testimony to them.”
I want to teach you something about that healing. First, did you
notice that Jesus did not go to the leper; the leper came to Jesus.
Then, he said, “Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean.”
Jesus answered him with the words that I believe He is saying to
you today. If you say to Him, “Jesus, if you are willing, You can
heal me,” Jesus will say to you exactly as He said to the leper, “I
am willing, be cleansed.”
The next thing Jesus did was tell the leper to “Go back to the
doctor” (in that day it was the priest). Jesus told the man to show
himself to the priest and let him be the one to say that he was
healed.
Now, Jesus knew that the man was healed. The man didn’t
have to go back to the priest and have it verified that he was
38
healed. Jesus knew all along that the leper was healed. Many times
people today say, “If I go back and have the doctor examine me,
that doesn’t show faith.” Yes, it does! People do not always believe
you, but they will believe the doctor!
When I had a problem with my heart, and God gave me a brand
new heart, I went right back to the same doctor. I went right back
to the same hospital where they took the x-rays the first time that
showed the enlarged heart. I went right back to the same x-ray lab,
and standing side by side were two x-rays. One showed an
enlarged heart; the other one showed a perfectly normal size heart!
I went “right back to the priest” and I showed myself. In other
words, I went right back to the doctor who had made the diagnosis,
and I had the doctor make the same tests he had made the first
time. It proved that God had healed me, because nothing else could
have done it! Going back doesn’t hurt your faith going back just

gives God all the more glory!

Jesus wants you to be healed. He doesn’t want you to be sick.
When you say to Him, “If you are willing, you can make me
whole,” Jesus is going to say, “I am willing, be made whole.”

Speaking the Word of Healing

Let’s look at Matthew 8:5-10: Now when Jesus had entered
Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying,
“Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully
tormented.”
And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that
you should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my
servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority,
having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes;
and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do
this,’ and he does it.”

39
When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who
followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great
faith, not even in Israel!”
Verse 13 says, Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way;
and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his
servant was healed that same hour.
I want you to notice what the centurion said. He answered
Jesus, saying, You don’t have to come to my house. All you have to
do is speak the word and my servant will be healed. Jesus was
amazed, because the man’s belief in the word of the Lord was so
strong that he knew Jesus didn’t even have to go to his house to
heal the servant. He knew all Jesus had to do was speak the word
of healing!
That’s why so many times you will hear us in a miracle service
say, “I speak the word of healing. Be healed in Jesus’ name.” All
Jesus did was speak the word of healing, the Centurion believed in
the word, and the servant was healed! Right now, I speak the word
of healing to you! I am speaking the healing word of God to you
and believing for a miracle in your life!

The Touch of Jesus’ Hand

Matthew goes right on to describe more healings. Verse 14,
Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s
mother lying sick with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever
left her. Then she arose and served them.
Did you notice that all Jesus did was touch her hand. He didn’t
speak a word. All He did was touch her hand.
All it takes is just one touch of Jesus. Even though we think of
Jesus as having ascended into heaven, remember that Jesus is also
present in each one of us; He is in you as a believer, and He is in
me as a believer.
Right now, by faith I stretch out my hand to you. I extend my

hand to you right through the pages of this book, and I want you to

40
feel the touch of Jesus in your body and get up and walk and do
what you could not do, now in Jesus’ name.
I believe with all my heart that there are going to be thousands
of people who are going to be healed as they read this book and the
healing anointing in these pages explodes all over them. Glory to
God!
Matthew 8:16 says, When evening had come, they brought to
Him many who were demon- possessed. And He cast out the spirits
with a word, and healed all who were sick...
Jesus cast out evil spirits with His word. There is power in the
word of God! There is healing in the word of God! Demons have
to obey, and sickness and diseases have to obey the word of God!
Think about the scripture describing the Sun of Righteousness
rising with healing in His wings. Picture Jesus towering over all
the plagues and curses all over the earth and every demonic force
just crumpling before his power and majesty!
The image of Jesus rising in triumph over every sickness and
disease is for you today. That’s the power in the word of God.
Jesus is present to heal you in the word of God!
Do you know what you need to do? You need to get to the
point where you can quote these verses of healing scriptures over
and over and over and over again until they are just like a sword
that pierces your very heart. When the word of God gets into your
heart, that’s when it becomes mighty, and that’s when you can
stand on the promises of God and know that every single thing that
He says is true and it’s true for you!
Aren’t these incredible accounts of Jesus healing and working
miracles the most exciting thing you have ever read? Can you see
how Jesus was always willing to heal, but He did not always heal
in exactly the same way?

Away With Unbelief!

Let’s look at Matthew 9, verses 18-35. I love this because it
shows Jesus was multi-tasked: While He spoke these things to
41
them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My
daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she
will live.” So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His
disciples.
Isn’t that exciting faith? This man’s daughter was absolutely
stone dead. He apparently walked some distance to get to Jesus,
and simply told Jesus that as soon as He would lay hands on her,
she would live. No begging, no tears, and no doubt! Just, “Come
and lay Your hand on her and she will live.”
But there was an interruption in Jesus’ journey to the little girl.
And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve
years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment; for
she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be
made well.”
But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of
good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the
woman was made well from that hour.
Can you imagine the joy that exploded inside of that woman
when she realized she would no longer be treated like an outcast,
as was the custom in those cases for issues of blood, but she would
get her health back, her life back, her friends and family back all—

with a faith touch to the edge of Jesus’ robe.

Don’t you think that Jesus swelled up with joy knowing all that
this healing was going to mean to this little woman? Shouldn’t we
all know by now, that God hurts when we hurt, and He absolutely
bursts with joy when one of His beloved ones gets saved or healed
or has their life turned around for the good! I just wonder how God
expresses His joy in heaven. The Bible says the angels rejoice
when someone is saved, but God rejoices also! And He rejoices
when someone is healed!
Then Jesus continued to the little girl who had died. Her daddy
didn’t gripe or complain that he had to wait for a little while. He
was confident.
And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute
players and the noisy crowd wailing, He said to them, “Make
42
room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they laughed
Him to scorn.
Can you believe that? Can you believe people laughing at
Jesus? But, it is so sad, people still do that today. People who don’t
believe the word of God and who don’t believe in divine healing
are laughing in the face of God just exactly the way those people
laughed when He told them to go out of the house and make room,
for the girl is not dead, but sleeping. They laughed Him to scorn.
The New King James says, they ridiculed Him. They made fun of
Him.
Think how many people you know today that laugh and say,
“Healing isn’t for today.” But, if you go and talk to the person who
has been healed from cancer, they will tell you healing is for today!
The scripture says, But when the crowd was put outside,...
In other words, Jesus sent them all out of there. He didn’t want
any unbelievers in there because, when you don’t have belief, it is
difficult to be healed. I know there is a gift of healing, and we
praise the Lord that we have this gift operating, and we see many
people in our services healed by the gift of healing. But, when
things are really serious and I really want to pray for somebody, I
ask the unbelievers to get out of the room. Because when
unbelievers are there, it can really stop the healing. Now, watch
what happened in this case:
But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her
by the hand, and the girl arose.
When Jesus got the unbelievers out, He went in and just took
her by the hand, and the young girl arose! Imagine a beautiful little
gray body that already looked like a lump of clay, suddenly sitting
up, bright-eyed and rosy-cheeked and probably hungry!
Do you wonder what would have happened if Jesus had not
had all the unbelievers escorted outside? I believe that little girl
would have just lain there stiff as a board!
This is one reason why we see a lot more healings at the end of
a miracle service — because the unbelievers are the ones who
always get up and leave first, and they are the ones who have been
43
keeping the miracles from happening. As soon as they leave, things
begin to happen! It’s just the same today as when it happened with
Jesus. When the unbelief leaves, faith is free to work!
The word of God says, And the report of this went out into all
that land. When the dead are raised, the reports travel!
The Mercy of God Will Heal You
When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him,
crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”
And when he had come into the house, the blind men came to
Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do
this?”
They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes,
saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”
And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them,
saying, ‘See that no one knows it.”
But when they had departed, they spread the news about Him
in all that country.
All Jesus did was ask these two blind men if they believed. All
they had to do was say YES! And they walked away seeing all the
colorful sights that they had possibly never seen in their entire
lives! Say this right now:
“Oh, Father, I believe, YES, YES, YES, and I thank You for my
life and my health and every single blessing You keep giving to
me!"
God is absolutely thrilled when you just believe Him!

The Miracles of Jesus

Are For Today!
As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a man, mute and
demon-possessed. And when the demon was cast out, the mute
spoke. And the multitudes marveled, saying, “it was never seen
like this in Israel!”
But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the ruler of
demons.” Do you know that there are some denominations today
44
who say they believe the Bible, and yet they say the baptism of the
Holy Spirit is of the devil, and speaking in tongues and healings
are of the devil. Don’t let that kind of influence rob you of your
faith!

Teaching on the Word of God

Builds Your Faith
Let’s continue with verse 35: And Jesus went about all the
cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the
gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every
disease among the people.
People need to be taught the word of God. What did Jesus do
first of all? He went about all the cities and villages teaching,
teaching, teaching. People need to be taught the promises of God
so that they can know God better, and learn His will for healing,
and build faith in what His word says about healing.
Jesus taught and then He preached. Preaching is giving the
people wisdom on what they need to do on their part. Then He
healed every sickness and every disease among the people. When
you begin to just absorb the word of God, and you begin to eat and
eat and eat and eat and have spiritual feast after spiritual feast on
every subject in the Bible, then you will get to know and
understand and believe in God’s will for healing.

Jesus Conveys the Power

To Heal to Believers
Matthew 10:1 is a turning point in the ministry of Jesus. And
when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them
power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds
of sickness and all kinds of disease. Jesus did not come to the earth
so that He could stay here forever and do every single thing that
the Father wanted people to receive. Jesus came for a short season,
and He knew right from the start that He would be delegating His
45
authority to the believers who would live on for generation after
generation after generation!
Do you believe that God is doing anything less today than He
did in those days? I don’t! I believe that God is calling people, and
God is saying to them, “I want you to go out, and I want you to
cast out devils, and I want you to heal all manner of disease.” This
is exactly what Jesus did. Jesus gave the believers power to go out.
He gave them the commission to go and to heal all manner of
disease.

The Commission in Action

Let’s look over to the book of Acts now. I want you to see what
the disciples did after Jesus completed His work on earth and went
back to the Father.
Acts 3:1-10: Now Peter and John went up together to the
temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man
lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at
the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from
those who entered the temple;
I want you to think about this. Jesus went into that same gate
over and over and over and over again during the years of His
ministry. Jesus did not heal this man who had been lying there for
most of his life. Jesus undoubtedly walked by him, and may have
greeted him many times, but He did not heal this man. Why?
Jesus wanted to show the disciples that He had given them the
power to go out and heal and cast out demons. The scripture could
just as well have said, “Now Charles and Frances went up together
and into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.”
And then we could tell you about the people who have come out of
wheelchairs just exactly the way this lame man did.
Here was a man lame from birth. Someone carried him every
single day to the gate of the temple so that he could beg. Nobody
had enough faith to pray that he would be healed. It says of him,

46
Who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked
for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look
at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive
something of them.
Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do
have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up
and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up,
and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple
with them walking, leaping, and praising God.

And all the people saw him walking and praising God. Then
they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful
Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and
amazement at what had happened to him.
Verse 16 says, And His name, through faith in His name, has
made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith
which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in
the presence of you all.
Glory to God for the power in the Name of Jesus! His name,
through faith in His name, has made this man strong.

Power for Today in Jesus’ Name

During our travels several years ago, we had met a young lady
named “Bobbie”. Bobbie had later gotten a disease called Guillian
Barre. It is caused from an inflammation of the nerves. It causes
the muscles to completely be destroyed.
When I first met Bobbie, she was just bubbling over with the
joy of the Lord. She was so excited about everything related to
God. Then the devil really hit her with this horrible disease for
which there is absolutely no cure. As I understand it, it gradually
creeps upward. It starts with the extremities, and it creeps up until
it paralyzes the lung area, and then you can no longer breathe.
She read the word of God. She read how Peter and John had
gone into the temple and had said to this man that Jesus had
47
walked by so many times, in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, rise
up and walk.
I remember the night that we got back to Albuquerque, and
Bobbie was right on the front row. She was the first one there. She
said, “I want to tell you this. I just believe that when you tell me to
get up and walk in the name of Jesus, I’m going to get up, and I’m
going to walk, and I’m going to be healed.”
That was her faith talking! When we came in, she was the very
first person I saw, and I had learned about this horrible, crippling,
disease. I saw her on crutches. I asked her some of the symptoms
of the disease and some of the things that it causes. She said, “I
can’t walk, because if I get up, I just fall right down, because there
is absolutely no strength in my legs.”
I stood her up on her crutches, and I prayed for her. I don’t
remember exactly what I prayed, but she dropped to the floor
under the power of God. And at the end of my prayer, I said, “In
the name of Jesus of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
Years later, Bobbie reminded me of what had happened. She
said, “You may not even remember it, but when I fell under the
power of God, you picked up my crutches, and you threw them as
hard as you could into a corner, and you said, ‘Don’t anybody give
her those crutches back because she will never need them again!”
At the time I had prayed, she was on the floor. Because she was
unable to get up from the floor, everybody ran over to try and pick
her up. I said, “Don’t touch her, don’t touch her, don’t touch her!
She’s being healed by the power of God!”
I still recall how Bobbie really struggled. I never saw so much
faith in my whole life. She struggled, and she struggled, and she
struggled, and she finally got to her feet and began running all over
the place!
Let’s read this again in the Amplified Bible: And His name,
through and by faith in His name, has made this man whom you
see and recognize well and strong. [Yes] the faith which is through
and by Him [Jesus] has given the man this perfect soundness [of
body] before all of you.
48
Bobbie returned to our next service in Albuquerque. She stood
in front of the entire congregation and joyfully proclaimed, “I am
healed because of the power of the name of Jesus!” Glory to God!
I get so excited because I know that the power of God in Jesus’
name has not lessened one iota!
When I saw Bobbie again, she was still walking and leaping
and praising God!
If you are not in a wheelchair and you’re not crippled, I want
you to give this book or loan this book to somebody who is,
because I believe when they have read and meditated on and
spoken the word of God for their healing, the power of God will
manifest to them and they will get up and walk!
“Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have I give unto
thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”

Healing Power in God’s Word

The word of God is so anointed that there is creative force in it!
With every ounce of belief and every ounce of faith that I have in
me, I believe if you will take this word of God like a medicine and
don’t just take it once and that’s all, but you will continue taking it
over and over and over and over and over again into your very
spirit, into your very being, into your innermost heart, I believe
you will be healed of whatever your disease is! Glory to God!
Acts 5:12 says that Jesus gave to the disciples the power to heal
all manner of diseases. He has not taken that power away from
people in this day and age. And through the hands of the apostles
many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they
were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch.
If we could just have a meeting some time where everybody
was of one accord one accord where there wasn’t an unbeliever or

a scoffer among the crowd I believe you would see miracles like

you never dreamed of!

Verse 14 tells about a Healing Explosion! And believers were
increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and
49
women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid
them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter
passing by might fall on some of them.
Verse 16 says, Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding
cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were
tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. Just think,
multitudes were healed, and it says they were all healed!
I don’t believe that God has changed one bit from that time to
this. God has promised us that, some day, Charles and I will walk
into an auditorium in a city, and we will wave our hands, and every
person in that auditorium will be totally and completely healed by
the power of God not because of us, but because of the power of
-

God!

Healing Miracles Bring Revival!

Now, let’s look over at Acts the 8th chapter. Remember, Jesus
has gone, but the disciples are acting in the power of the Holy
Spirit, which is what we have today. Verses 4-8: Therefore those
who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. Then
Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to
them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken
by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
There is no way faster to make people come to Jesus than to let
them see miracles. Look what happened:
For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of
many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and
lame were healed.
Philip just preached Jesus: Jesus the Savior, Jesus the Healer,
Jesus Resurrected and Alive! And look what took place! Unclean
spirits fled, the paralyzed recovered, and the lame walked! The
power of God showed up all over the place!
And the word says, And there was great joy in that city. Don’t
you know there is bound to be great joy in any city when
everybody gets healed! I can’t wait for that day! I think that will be
50
one of the most exciting days of my entire life. God will probably
hold it off until just before the Rapture, because He knows I
probably wouldn’t be able to stand it if it happened before!
Acts 9:32-42. And it came to pass, as Peter went through all
parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who
dwelt in Lydda. There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who
had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed.
And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you.
Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately.
Immediately! Just like that! Why? Because of the power of
Peter? No. Peter gave all the glory to God. He said, Jesus the
Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.
There is hope for people who are paralyzed! It seems that there
were more people paralyzed in those days, but the power of God is
the same today as it was then, and the power of God is also great
enough to overcome any disease we have today that did not exist in
those days!
The incredible result of the paralyzed man being healed was:
So all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the
Lord.
Miracles and healing will turn people to God like nothing else!
They turned people to God in Bible days, and it will happen today.

Raising the Dead Brings Revival

Verse 36 says, At Joppa there was a certain disciple named Ta
bit ha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good
works and charitable deeds which she did. But it happened in
those days that she became sick and died. When they had washed
her, they laid her in an upper room.
And since Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard
that Peter was there, they sent two men to him, imploring him not
to delay in coming to them.
Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they
brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him
51
weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had
made while she was with them.
But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And
turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her
eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. Then he gave her his
hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and
widows, he presented her alive. And it became known throughout
all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.
What do you think would happen today if someone who was a
well-known public servant died, was laid out in the funeral home,
and a man or woman of God went in and raised him from the
dead? There would be revival! There would be a move of God in
that place!
In the 14th chapter of Acts, verse 8 says, And in Lystra a
certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from
his mother’s womb, who had never walked. This man heard Paul
speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith
to be healed, said with a loud voice, “Stand up straight on your
feet!” And he leaped and walked.
Paul sensed a tremendous faith in this man. There are times
today when you can just see faith in a person, and you know that
they are going to receive their healing.

You Must Pray Believing

Sometimes I think we don’t know how to pray for people. I
think sometimes if we knew just a little more about how to really
heal the sick, it could help tremendously. There was a lady who
was at a Full Gospel convention years ago, and there must have
been 50 people around her praying and praying and praying up a
storm. She was in a wheelchair. Nothing happened. I thought, “Oh,
Jesus, all they are doing is crying and saying, ‘if it be thy will’ and
they are not really praying believing.”

When we began singing, and they all disappeared, I ran over

real quick, and I said the same thing that Peter and John said:
52
“Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have I give unto thee; in
the name of Jesus of Nazareth rise up and walk!” That’s exactly
what she did, glory to God!
There was another instance, in Houghton Lake, Michigan
where we had seven people in wheelchairs, and God spoke to me
(that’s the rhema word of God, where you hear God speaking to
you right into your mind and right into your heart). And God said
to me, “Tell those people in those wheelchairs, every one of them,
to get out and walk right now in the name of Jesus.” That’s exactly
what I said. Do you know what happened? Number one, number
two, number three, number four, number five, number six and
number seven got up!
Recently, a lady came to one of our meetings with a stroke,
unable to talk. Charles has a magnificent ministry with people who
have strokes. I kept saying to her throughout the seminar, “Wait,
wait, wait until I catch Charles because I want Charles to pray for
you. When Charles prays for you, I know you are going to be
healed.”
Her faith built, and her faith built, and her faith built in the
Lord, but she never had the opportunity to be where Charles was
until the final day. She had sat there under teaching and teaching
and teaching. Finally, I spotted Charles nearby and said, “There’s
Charles. Let’s go over and get Charles to pray for you.” Charles
prayed a simple little prayer. He commanded the spirit of death to
come out of her, since that is usually what he does with strokes,
because one side is dead. Then he said to the woman, “In the name
of Jesus of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
She not only got up and walked, she began to scream and
holler and carry on. You never heard anything like it in your life!
Do you know what? I would have done the same thing! If I had a
stroke and I was in a wheelchair with half my body numb, and all
of a sudden I was healed by the power of God, I would have gotten
up right then and there and shouted praise to God all over the
place!

53
Faith for Long Distance Healing
Do you know that too many people think that if something
happened in the Bible days, that was all right, but it couldn’t
happen today. I want you to know, it can happen today. It can
happen to you right now!
This is something that I think is beautiful. Look over at Acts
19:11 and 12. Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of
Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his
body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went
out of them.
I have to tell you a story that thrills me every time I think about
it. I never see these scriptures that I don’t think of this precious
story. A lady all the way over in England heard about somebody
who was healed through a prayer cloth that we had given out. She
wrote to us, and she told us about her little grandson who had just
been born with a water-head and with congenital hip defects. She
asked us if we would pray and ask God to anoint a prayer cloth so
that this child would be healed. It’s amazing that the power of God
doesn’t leave a little cloth even when it goes overseas. It went
overseas, and this little baby was asleep when the grandmother
received the cloth. She took it and placed it inside the baby’s tiny
clenched fist.
Instantly the water-head went down, and the boy’s head was
completely normal! Several weeks later, she took the child back to
the clinic where she had taken him ever since he was born. They
said to her, “This cannot be the same child that you brought before,
because his head is normal, and there is no congenital hip defect!”
Do I believe in the healing power of God? You had better believe I
do. Do I believe there is power in a little prayer cloth? You had
better believe I do, because of a little baby over in England who is
walking perfectly normal today because somebody believed along
with us for the same thing to happen today that happened when
Peter and Paul and James and John were alive!

54
If you want a prayer cloth, you just write to Hunter Ministries,
and I’ll ask God to anoint a prayer cloth to send to you. But, I
don’t think you’re going to need it, because I think you’re going to
be healed just by putting God’s word for your healing right into
your spirit.

Faith is Contagious!
Now in that region there was an estate of the leading citizen of
the island, whose name was Publius, who received us and
entertained us courteously for three days. And it happened that the
father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to
him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him. So
when this was done, the rest of those on the island who had
diseases also came and were healed (Acts 28:7-9).
Faith is contagious! I am thinking about a little girl that was
brought to our meeting in a wheelchair. A friend from another city
came to our Friday night service, and when she saw the healings
taking place, it so impressed her that when she got home that night,
even though it was 1 o’clock in the morning because she lived
quite a distance from the meeting, she called her friend and said,
‘You’ve got to bring Belinda! You’ve got to bring Belinda! You’ve
got to bring Belinda because I KNOW she’s going to be healed
because of the signs and wonders and miracles that I saw!”
Belinda was at the next service, and Belinda was totally
healed! Thank you, Jesus!
Let’s see what it says back in Luke 5:17 Now it happened on a
certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and
teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of
Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was
present to heal them.
The power of the Lord was present to heal them. Do I believe
and know that the power of the Lord is present today to heal you?
Yes! Yes! Yes!

55
Faith Put Into Action
Luke 5:18. Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was
paralyzed. And they sought to bring him in and lay him before
Him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in,
because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him
down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.
So when He saw their faith, He said to them, Man, your sins
are forgiven you.” And the scribes and the Pharisees began to
reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can
forgive sins but God alone?”
But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and
said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts? Which is
easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and
walk?’ But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on
earth to forgive sins” He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I

say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your home.”

Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been
lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.
There are two things I want you to see in this account. First,
this paralyzed man had friends who had faith that they put into
action, by bringing him to Jesus, even to the point of tearing up the
roof to let him down inside where Jesus was! Do you believe that
God honors that kind of faith? Yes, He does! And then, something
equally important...

Don’t Forget to Give Praise

and Glory to God
And then, the man who was healed went back home glorifying
God! When God heals you, I want you to glorify God with all your
heart and all your soul and all your strength. I am often amazed at
the number of people whose pain leaves them at a miracle service,
or who experience every type of miracle, and they seem to just go
on their way without a word, and they never return to glorify God.
56
We always have the people say as we are praying for them,
“Thank You, Jesus.” But then it’s up to them to continue a thankful
attitude. Every single act of healing and every single miracle is
worthy of your ongoing praise and thanksgiving and glorifying
God everywhere you go. Your attitude touches the heart of God,
and your visible praise also increases the faith of others to receive
their healing. Be thankful. Be grateful. And go tell everybody what
God has done for you.

Be Determined to Receive
What Jesus Wants You to Have
Let’s look now at a passage in the Amplified version. You may
have heard it over and over, but it is a tremendous revelation of the
love of Jesus for you and what He desires for you. The thief (that’s
the devil, himself) comes only in order to steal and kill and
destroy. (That’s what the devil wants to do with your life.) I came
that they may have and enjoy life, (not death, but life) and have it
in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
Do you see in that verse what Jesus really wants for you not a-

life of sickness and suffering and barely making it, but a life of
fullness. He came that you might have life, health, joy, and all your
needs met abundantly in every area. Don’t you think that if Jesus
came to do this for you, Jesus is going to honor your faith to
receive these very things? Absolutely!
Jesus said, I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd risks
and lays down His [own] life for the sheep. What Jesus came down
here on this earth to give you was forgiveness, eternal life, and
abundant life.
When Jesus went to the cross, He had 39 stripes on His back.
In that stripe is lupus. In that stripe is gout. In that stripe is every
disease that existed then or now. Every single disease that you may
have is right there, laid once and for all on the back of Jesus. All
those things that rob you of abundant life were taken by Jesus in
those horrible stripes on his back. Jesus’ suffering was real. His
57
death was real. But He saw the end result, and that result was life
and health for you. Praise the Lord!

Your Faith Will Produce

What You Need
Romans 1:17 describes the way of life for believers: For in it
the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is
written, “The just shall live by faith.”
Now, look at Hebrews 11:1 from the Amplified Bible. This is
one of the most exciting texts in the Bible in every translation that
I’ve read. I’ve never read any description of faith that blesses me
like this one does:
NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed),
not a deed of trust, because when you have a deed of trust, you
don’t own your home, you’ve got a mortgage on it. A title deed
means that it is all paid for. Faith is the title deed, it’s all paid for!
...of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not
see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact
what is not revealed to the senses] (your taste, your touch, your
smell, your sight, your hearing.)
That is faith. Perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the
senses. That faith is for you! “Faith in the Father, Faith in the Son,
Faith in the Holy Ghost, Victories are won!” All you’ve got to do is
just begin to believe and let your faith just rise up within you. Just
let it bubble in your stomach or wherever the faith of God bubbles
in you. Just let it begin to bubble up, bubble up and bubble up until
you know that you know that you know that you know that healing
is for you!

God’s Word Provides

a Long and Worthwhile Life
Proverbs 3:1-2 says, My son, do not forget my law, (that’s the
word of God) but let your heart keep my commands. For length of
58
days and long life (that’s YOUR life) and peace they will add to
you.
That’s what the word of God does for you! I want you to see it
in the Amplified Bible; I think that will really get you excited. It
says, For length of days and years of a life [worth living]... A life
worth living! Haven’t you seen people who felt their life wasn’t
worth living? But look what God’s word does for you: ...years of a
life [worth living] and tranquility [inward and outward and
continuing through old age till death], these shall they add to you.
There was a lady who once came to me, and I was just
fascinated because she said, “I want to die. I have nothing left to
live for.” She said, “I’m 61 years of age. My children have grown,
and life has passed me by.”
I looked her right in the eye and said, “Honey, I’m 61! [Now
I’m 92!] Glory to God! I think life has just started!” That was 31
years ago, and I am still excited about every single day because I
know that God has lots more for me to do for Him!
I feel so sorry for people who don’t understand what God is
going to give you that God is going to give you tranquility inward

and outward and continuing through old age until death. There are
things we go through sometimes that make life not seem very
tranquil, but He always gives the victory and turns things around
so that life is precious and worthwhile; and I just praise His name
for that!
Look what Proverbs 3:16 says: Length of days is in her right
hand, (which is wisdom), in her left hand riches and honor. Not
only can you live to be old, you can be rich as well. We think that
is fantastic! You can be rich without a million dollars in your bank
account, because, just think how much you will really be saving
over a lifetime of living in the health and protection that God gives
you. Plus, He promises to meet all of your needs! That is a rich life
and a worthwhile life!
Proverbs 3:18. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of
her, and happy are all who retain her.

59
Verse 22 is still talking about the word of God and it says, So
they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck.
Proverbs 4:23 says, Keep your heart with all diligence, for out
of it spring the issues of life. Guard your heart and keep your heart
clean and pure, and see what happens to you!

Let Your Words Be Faith Words!

Now look at Proverbs 6:2 which gives a warning for us to take
seriously: You are snared by the words of your own mouth; you are
taken by the word of your mouth.
I believe with my heart and soul that you get what you say. I
heard somebody literally predict their future when they said, “I’m
going to come down with this terminal disease if I don’t stop
having pressure.” I’m going to tell you something. That’s exactly
what is going to happen if those words don’t get turned around to
what God’s word says.
We need to have a positive confession with our mouth. Your
mouth can get you into more trouble than anything I know of,
because the words of your lips are a powerful force, and your
speech will direct your future.
I love the way this is expressed in Proverbs 7:1,2. My son, keep
my words, and treasure my commands within you. Keep my
commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye. Isn’t that
beautiful? Can you treasure God’s word, and love His word as the
apple of your eye?
Proverbs is full of loving instruction on the value of keeping
God’s word, because there is always a reward for you in doing that,
and God wants you to receive the reward.
Proverbs 9:6. Forsake foolishness and live, and go in the way
of understanding. Verse 11: For by me (God’s wisdom) your days
will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.
Say this right now: “Father, I claim my reward and praise You
because You said my days are going to be multiplied and years of
life will be added to me. Thank You, Father!”
60
Proverbs 10:2: Treasures of wickedness profit nothing. But
righteousness delivers from death. Glory to God!
Say this and believe:
“I believe your word, Father, and I thank You for that promise
that I am delivered from an untimely death.”
Verse 11 warns us again about the mouth. The mouth of the
righteous is a well of life, but violence covers the mouth of the
wicked.
Say this over and over:
“Thank You, Lord, I believe You are healing me right now.
Thank You, Lord, I believe I’m being healed right now. Thank You,
Lord, I believe I’m being healed right now!” What you say with
your mouth is what you are going to get.
Verse 16 says, The labor of the righteous leads to life, the
wages of the wicked to sin. If you make your living according to
the righteousness of God, it leads to life, not death.
Proverbs 10:17 says: He who keeps instruction is in the way of
life. Beloved, we need to be able to take instruction and correction
when it is given to us. A haughty or arrogant attitude will hinder
the flow of God’s power toward you. And did you realize that, by
the way in which you heed instruction and correction, you can
speak healing to other people?
Proverbs 10:27 is powerful. Let this promise loose faith in your
heart: The tear of the Lord prolongs days, but the years of the
wicked will be shortened. The ways of the Lord your commitment
-

to show reverence for Him in all you do are a stronghold of

strength for the upright. God has promised to prolong your days.
He has lots more for you to do for Him!
Let this word from Psalm 118:17 be your ongoing confession: I
shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord!
Throughout the whole Bible Old Testament, New Testament,
--

Psalms, Proverbs, Prophets God’s will could not be more clear for
-

you that He wants you to be well and enjoy a long and productive
life. Put His promises into your heart. Say them over and over and
over and over. Go through this book and go through your Bible, in
61
fact every translation you can get your hands on, and highlight,
underline, and even record yourself saying these healing scriptures.
Keep your words based entirely on God’s word, and don’t let
anything negative in your heart or your mouth.
Father, we thank You, we praise you for the Word of God.
Father, I pray as this word gets into the very spirit of every person
who is sick, I speak the word of healing to that person. I believe,
Father, they are totally and completely healed in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
