    Tips and Tricks to Better Prepare for your Interview with Amazon Web Services

    During Amazon interviews we’re using competency based (behavioural) questions and a STAR
    method. The questions are based on our 14 Amazon Leadership Principles and they require using a
    concrete situation from your professional past in the answer, e.g. Do you remember a situation when
    you were dealing with a very demanding client?

    Top tips for a great Amazon interview:

     Get familiar with the job description and prepare your questions regarding the job
     Prepare a short introduction of yourself in the context of your profile, professional past,
    qualifications and education
     Use specific examples. The strongest examples are work based examples, but you can also use
    study or personal examples
     Familiarize yourself with the Amazon Leadership Principles before your interview and think of
    times when you’ve demonstrated them, e.g. When did you have to “earn the trust” of your
    colleagues or manager?
     If you haven’t understood the interviewer’s question, ask them to repeat it or explain it
    further.
     Feel free to ask any questions you have about the role, AWS or Amazon in general

    Explain your example in a clear manner. Using the STAR technique will help you:

     SITUATION/TASK - Describe the situation/task you faced and the context of the story
     ACTION - What actions did you take?
     RESULTS - How did you measure success for this project? What results did you
    achieve?

    Please navigate to https://chime.aws/trial/click on the Download button beneath the operating


    system that you will be using.

    -Notes-

     Amazon Chime Pro is free to try for 30 days, with no credit card required.
     After 30 days, you can continue to use Amazon Chime Basic for free, for as long as you’d like,
    or you can purchase an Amazon Chime Plus or Pro subscription.
     Click Save to save the file to your Downloads folder.
     Navigate to your Downloads folder and open the downloaded file. How to Use Chime:

    Once you have downloaded and installed Amazon Chime, you will be able to join your interview!

     Open up the Chime application


     Click on the Join Meeting button
    o Enter the Meeting ID into the Meeting ID field
    o Click Join
     In the Choose Meeting Audio window that pops up, click Use Mic & Speakers
     Click Start Webcam and you are in conference!
