exactly how we plan to bring you more clients. When would be a good time for you tomorrow or
[Next Day of Week]?

Totally understand. You weren’t expecting my call. When could we schedule a time when you’re
not so busy...

Okay Great! What kind of return are you getting?...[wait for response]...What if I told you we got
X Results for [Business Type] after they were already using another marketing team.

I’m not interested

Okay, so you are not interested in growing your business and getting more patients?

{Name}, many of my best customers also said they weren’t interested when I first called but now
they’re getting X & Y results from our services.

Happy to. But typically when I hear that what it means is you don’t have time for this right now.

How did you get my name/number?

I’m specifically reaching out to you because our business is looking for the best [Business Type]
in the area to bring client leads to, and we noticed you have some of the best reviews online.

I’m not the right person to talk to.

No problem, [Name] — sorry about that! Who would be the right person in your organization to
connect to?

I’ve never even heard of your company

[Name], I completely understand that you haven’t heard of us. In fact that’s the same thing we
heard from the [insert persona you are calling] at companies like [insert customer references].
However, they took some extra time to give us a cursory evaluation and now their team is [insert
results]. We would love to get your team the same results.

We only do business a certain way

We are actually very flexible. We can work with any team, any way they want to work. We work
with companies like X and Y, who have a similar situation as you-- and we’re producing [insert
results] results for them.

I am not looking for new software / solutions / this isn’t a priority for me right now

Understood-- I’m not asking you to buy anything right now. Let’s take some time to talk about
how we’re producing X results for customer like [insert similar customers], and if at that point
you feel the same way, we’ll thank each other for our time, and go on about our day.

Call back in X months or X quarter.

What’s going to change between now and then?

Honestly I would love to. But since we have [New Years or other deadline time] coming up so
fast We want to make sure that’s taken full advantage of. Which may take up to a few weeks of

This implies that there is a plan in place already and you can’t move forward

I’m not the decision maker.

Look [Prospect Name], no one is going to have a better understanding of how a product
/solution like ours could boost the results for your team more than you.

I don’t have the budget / it’s too expensive.

You weren’t expecting my call, so I wouldn’t expect you to have a budget. Most of our biggest
customers started in this exact same way.

We already use X. (non-competitive)

X Solutions are great for [what they’re good for]. We’re different in that we focus/specialize in
[what problems you solve], do you think that having extra clients from our sources would benefit
you?

We’re already using one of your competitors.

Actually, one of our past clients [SunPoint Fitness] was using another marketing agency and
said the same thing. The moment they tried out our services for a week and saw the results,
they dropped their old marketing agency instantly. We actually ended up saving them over
$1,500 a month, not to mention the huge increase in inbound client leads.
DO NOT SAY THESE THINGS

Is this a bad time?

You probably interrupted your prospect while he/she was doing something else. Don’t give your
prospect an easy way out in the first few seconds of your call.

Does that make sense?

This question is lazy and an answer of “no” basically means the prospect is too stupid to
understand what the rep is saying or the rep is too stupid to explain what he/she meant.

I’d love to set aside some time

The prospect does not care what you’d love to do. Instead, say “Let’s schedule some time.”

I'm Not Interested:

'I’m with you, of course you're not interested - how could you be interested if you don’t even
know what I have to offer. All I need is 15 seconds of your time to tell you what I’m about, if
you’re not blown away after those 15 seconds, I'll even hang up on myself.'

We're Already Working With Someone Else:

'I totally understand you’re working with someone else and that’s fine, I actually got the feeling
you did by looking at your website/social media etc. Funnily enough the main reason why I
started my business was because people that do social media usually do a terrible job. Now the
purpose of my call is not to criticise the people you’re working with, but to get 30 seconds of
your time so that I can show you how were the best social media agency in town'

I’m Busy/I Don't Have Time:

'I’m with you, I can only imagine how little time you have as a business owner, I struggle with
that myself. As a matter of fact, it's because you’re busy this hasn’t been taken care of and
you’re business is probably leaving a lot of money in the table because of it. Now I don’t want to
be negative, I just need literally 30 seconds of your time to blow you away with my service.'
