This is a survey to answer questions asked by a University of Florida student working on a way to extend the life of
fruits before they rot. This survey is 10 questions. All responses are voluntary but your time is greatly appreciated :)
What steps do you take to reduce waste caused by the rotting of your
foods?
Check if I have food before buying more, freeze some if I have too much

When you do get rid of bad bananas and/or other produce, do you simply
throw them away or do you use a compost pile or other "clean" method of

I freeze bananas for smoothies, but mostly if I have too much ripe fruit I just eat it all at once

For bananas, I bake with them or freeze them (peeled and sliced, to use for smoothies). Which
is why I couldn't answer question #3, because I waste zero bananas.

For regular eating, when the banana is very mushy. But for baking, I've put bananas in the
oven to blacken them on purpose before mashing them up (the recipe called for extremely
ripe or black bananas)
