for Woodbridge High School Choirs
SOPRANO / ALTO / TENOR
The sight-reading selection may be sung before or after the prepared piece. When the
student enters the room, they must tell the judges/accompanist which they wish to do first.
The exercise will be 8 measures in length and sung unaccompanied. The exercise will be
computer manuscript, with the soprano/alto written in treble clef, the tenor written in
both tenor clef or bass clef, and the bass written in bass clef. There will be no interval
larger than a fifth. The range will be from ti to la. The exercise will begin on do. Students
may sing using solfége numbers, or neutral syllables. The sight-reading must be performed
at a tempo no slower than 60 bpm. A slower tempo will result in a deduction in score.
