A: Leave Eligibility:
A: Leave Accrual
NX – SJX: 30 Days PL will be transferred to Individual Reserve Pool (RP-1) & the remaining leaves
will be en-cashed in the month of May 2019.
AED & Above: All accrued PL will move to Individual Reserve Pool (RP-1) and no encashment will be
applicable.
A: Reserve Pool is an individual leave pool where in the talent can keep the leave balance as per the below
mentioned details:

Q: How many days of leave can be availed from Reserve Pool (RP-1) for a year?
A: Reserve Pool
NX-SJX: Maximum 10 days can be availed in a year. The remaining PL balance will be available under
RP-1.
AED & Above: Maximum 15 days can be availed in a year. The remaining PL balance will be available
under RP-1.
Q: How many types of reserve pools are available and what is the significance of them?
RP-1:
NX- SJX: Applicable for all talents who have joined before 31st March 2019 and having PL balance
to their credit. Maximum accumulation will be 30 days p.a
AED & Above: Applicable for all talents who have joined before 31st March 2019 and having PL
balance to their credit i.e. entire PL balance will be kept under RP-1
RP-2:
NX- SJX : For joinees before 1st April 2019, if the RP-1 balance goes below 30 days at any given
point of time, then the PL leave earned from current FY will be carry forward to RP-2 which is not
en-cashable. However the RP-1 Balance and RP-2 balance should not exceed 30 days. For Joiners on
or after 1st April 2019 the maximum accumulation of PL will be 30 days under RP-2.
AED & Above: For Joiners on or after 1st April 2019 , the maximum accumulation of PL will be 30
days for RP-2 i.e, PL earned during the FY starting from 1st April 2019. For joinees before 1st April
2019, if the RP-1 balance goes below 30 days at any given point of time, then the PL leave earned
from current FY will be carry forward to RP-2 which is not en-cashable. However the RP-1 Balance
and RP-2 balance should not exceed 30 days.
A: Current year PL
If you have utilized 10 days of PL from the RP-1 in FY 19-20 then the unutilized PL of FY 19-20 can be
carried forward to a new reserve pool called RP-2 subjected to a maximum of 30 days combining RP -1
& RP-2. i.e. Based on the above example, 20 days PL will remain in RP -1 and remaining 10 days can
be carried forward to RP-2 and the remaining un-utilized PL will be lapsed.
A: RP-1 Balance
Once RP-1 balance is exhausted, RP-2 balance can be utilized provided you have the accumulation.
NX-SJX : Retiring talents of the particular financial year can avail all the leaves from RP-1 & RP-2. At
the time of retirement, the remaining leaves in RP-1 can be en-cashed at the rate of 1 day’s basic salary
of Year 2018-19.
AED & above: Retiring talents of the particular financial year can avail all the leaves from RP-1 & RP-
2.
A: Resigned Talents
NX-SJX : At the time of separation the remaining leaves in RP-1 pool can either be adjusted against
the notice period shortfall or en-cashed at the rate of 1 day’s basic salary of Year 2018-19.
AED & above: At the time of separation the remaining leaves in RP-1 pool can either be adjusted
against the notice period shortfall.
Q: What will happen to new Joinees who joined after 31st Mar 2019?
A: New Joinees
RP-1 is not applicable for New Joinees as this belongs to the previous year i.e. FY 18-19.
Their leave eligibility as mentioned below;
For Regional Office / Corporate : GL- 8 Days & PL -24 Days (Pro-Rated Basis)
For Plants : GL- 20 Days & PL -30 Days (Pro-Rated Basis)
Q: Can I carry forward my RP-2 balance?
A: RP- 2 Balance
NX-SJX : Yes, You can carry forward the balance. However the RP-1 & RP-2 balance should
not exceed 30 Days p.a.
AED and above : Yes, You can carry forward the balance. However the RP-1 & RP-2 balance should
not exceed 30 Days p.a.
Q: I have exhausted my RP-1 balance and I have only RP-2 balance of 20 days. If I take 10 days leaves in the
month of Apr’20 whether I attract LOP since the RP-2 is not en- cashable?
A: RP- 2 Balance
No, LOP does not arise, you can utilize the leaves.
Q: Should I give request to HR every year to move the balance PL of the respective FY to RP-2?
A:
NX-SJX : No, The HR4U system will automatically move the un-availed PL of the FY to RP -2 by
ensuring RP-1 & RP-2 balance does not exceed 30 days.
AED and above : No, The HR4U system will automatically move the un-availed PL of the FY to RP -2
by ensuring RP-2 balance does not exceed 30 days.
Q: Can I take advance PL for the current FY if have exhausted RP -1 & RP-2?
A: Based on the recommendation by the reporting manager, Unit HR Head can approve advance PL and the
system will adjust against the accrued PL. In case of resignation, all advance PL will be deducted in F&F.
A: Your RP-1 criteria becomes inactive, you will have only RP-2 criteria which will be filled at the start of the
next financial year.
