COURSE TITLE : The Entrepreneurial Mind EntrepreNurse


COURSE NUMBER : GEC 101
COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course deals with nurses are expanding their roles and offering a range of services, with the focus primarily on health promotion, illness
and accident prevention, rehabilitation and support services, but including clinical specialty practices and management consultancies. These
nurse entrepreneurs are providing research-confirmed quality and effective care and establishing a public image as patient advocates,
carers, counsellors and educators in addition to efficient clinicians.
COURSE CREDIT : 3 units Theory
PLACEMENT : Third Year, Second Semester
PRE-REQUISITE : NONE
CO-REQUISITE : NONE

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

The BSN program aims to develop a professional nurse who is able to assume entry level positions in health facilities or community settings. The professional nurse is capable of
providing safe, humane, quality and holistic care to individuals in varying age, gender and health-illness status; healthy or at risk families; population groups; and community; singly or
in collaboration with other health care providers to promote health, prevent illness, restore health, alleviate suffering and provide end of life care.

(PO1) Apply knowledge of physical, social, natural and health sciences and humanities in the practice of nursing.
(PO2) Perform safe, appropriate, and holistic care to individuals, families, population groups, and community utilizing nursing process.

LEVEL OUTCOMES
At the end of the 2nd year, given a normal and high risk mother and newborn, child, family, communities and population groups in any health care setting, the learners demonstrates
safe, appropriate and holistic care utilizing the nursing process.

11. Learning Environment


1. Classroom: All students should be safe and comfortably seated. The ventilation and the temperature for the entire room should conducive for learning and instruction. The
audio visual facilities should be properly situated to ensure clear presentation visible from all area of the classroom.
2. Skills Laboratory: The nursing skills laboratory has to be well lighted and well ventilated and conducive to the demonstration and practice learning.
