    Bonjour! Guten Tag!


    Are you a new student to French or German?
    Having trouble pronouncing those words?
    Afraid to speak up in class because you have no idea what the teacher just said?
    Whether you are in public schools or the university - I would be happy to help you learn the basics of French or German (or both).
    Tutoring lessons in your own home or office, on campus or in Panera (or any other eatery around town).
    A relaxed atmosphere with no grading, no pressure. Make language enjoyable - even fun.
    We can sip a hot chocolate, eat a donut and study a foreign language so it becomes useful.
    Then get a passport and get there to practice!!

    Cost: $30.00 for single lesson, normally an hour (and it might even go over a bit....I sometimes forget to look at my watch if you have chocolate cookies
    on the kitchen table).

    Better deal: $100.00 for four lessons in one week.


    Language skill requires repetition. Take four lessons and become more proficient faster.
    You pick the time and place according to your schedule.
    After school is fine, after dinner is fine.

    As an American born in Philadelphia I am a teacher - Health and Physical Education. Wrestler. Coach. Referree. All retired.
    I am also an Olympic and Sport Historian.
    I have taught in most of the public schools around Centre County as well as Penn State.
    I taught Physical Education and lived for five years in West Berlin, Germany while the wall was there - so I speak German as well as French....and a few
    other languages but not very well, so I cannot tutor in those (Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Chinese, Arabic, Hebrew).

    But I can assist foreign students with English as a Second Language - especially university students.
    So I have a different ad for that - look elsewhere for it.

    If you ever checked out at Walmart and the cashier babbled at you in some other language - that was me.
    Can you recognize the photos I have in this ad? Flags from countries where these languages are spoken....
    France and Germany of course. But also Canada - they speak FRENCH in the province of Quebec, which is a short weekend trip from State College.
    GO. SPEAK. PRACTICE.

    Switzerland is another story. FLY. SPEAK....French, German, Italian too.


    Go. Tell your parents it is an essential educational trip.

    Then there is Austria - German spoken everywhere and some Italian in the border regions.
    Of course almost everyone speaks English in Austria but you need to go there to practice your GERMAN.

    If you want serious lessons - then you pay all expenses for both of us for a 14 day trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland and I will teach you both
    French and German throughout the tour. Collect flags and beer mats along the way, too.
