I. Background
Lets give a background about sales when we talk about
sales the first thing we think or the first thing that comes
to our mind is that sales are activities related to selling or
the number of goods or services sold in a given period of
time or transaction between two parties where the buyer
receives goods (tangible or intangible), services, and/or
assets in exchange for money. It can also refer to an
agreement between a buyer and seller on the price of a
security. A sale functions as a contract between the buyer
and seller of the selected good or service. So simply
means that sales is a transaction where the seller sell
services or goods in exchange for money.
Nowadays many people open up business not knowing
what may happen if there just sell then received money
not knowing if they gaining profit or loss. With the fast
phasing of new technologies people now are depending
on using it so this kind of system are now more
innovative rather than the past system that are using on
old times. Consider having computer to record every
transaction happening in the business helps a lot than
doing the manual system where takes a lot of time. With
the help of developers, for contributing a lot and an easy
way to organize a business. System is a collection of
components that work together to realize some objective
forms.
II. Introduction
This Sales and Inventory System is all about how helpful
it is when it comes to business especially those kind of
business like multiple of items they are selling and don’t
have time anymore to check if they have the right
quantity that they should have or if those stocks will last.
Introducing this Sales and Inventory System it makes the
operation easier, fast and also they can be able to monitor
how many stocks they have or if they should order more
and also be able to track all transactions and can check
also if the total profit they gained are equal to the all
transactions that happened during that day. This means,
to keep the records and in an organize form, and fast
to access and less in time consuming the daily routines.
The study was operated for system security purposes,
having two security password. The first one is the
database password and the second one is for all the
cashier and admin have an accounts to secure the
system. The owner or the administrator is the only one
who can manipulate or check on the system widely and
have all the access about the system.
III. Limitations
System can’t handle multiple products or items at one
transaction.

IV. Objectives
If you are looking to grow your business using a Sales
Operating System, you will first need to understand it
completely. This is going to help you when it comes to
installing and using the system in your business. Once
you know how to handle it, the rest of work will be a lot
easier for both you and your employees
A Sales Operating System
Unlike a cash register, Sales Operating System are
known to have the capabilities of collecting more
information. When conducting business, the more
information that you have on your customers the better
equipped you will be. From stock inventory, data
collection and detailed reports, good point of sale
systems will be able to offer them all. A system that is
capable of integrating with other ordering and sales
systems is good to invest in. Gathering customer
information is necessary for the purposes of creating a
custom model that you can work with. Understanding the
objectives of your Sales Operating System software will
give you an operating edge. The following are some of
the objectives that you should familiarize yourself with:
Managing Your Inventory
● The first objective of the Sales Operating Systems is to

help in the management of your business’ inventory.

When conducting sales, most of the payments will be
done through cash depending on the style of your
business. Most of the systems make use of the
barcodes to track, receive and sell inventory products.
This will enable the sales operating system that you
are using to collect all these data and use it.
● Instead of manually checking your stock to determine

what you should add, the sales operating system will

be able to do this for you. Through the tracking and
collecting of information, the system is able to know
what sells a lot and when it should be restocked. You
will also get reports that will help you determine when
you should adjust your pricing.

Automation of Accounting
● Traditionally, you would have to do the books at the end

of every business day manually. Other than

consuming a lot of your time, you will also have high
chances of making a mistake or two. The other
important objective of effective Sales Operating
systems is to help make the record keeping and
accounting simpler and also avoid mistakes.
● A sales operating system is more advanced and it uses

the information that it collects to simplify the

accounting process. You will be able to get all the data
that you need directly from your system. You can
clear credit cards, record transactions, collect taxes
and even manage sales using a good Sales Operating
system that has been connected to a computerized
accounting system.
Collection of Customer Data
● Finally, you can use your Sales Operating Systems to

collect the information from your current customers.

This will depend mainly on the information input
capacities and the software used in the point of sale
system you are using.
● With personal information such as the customers’ phone

number and email address, you will be able to

improve their buying experiences. Also, having the
customers’ credit card information on your system
will make it easier for them to shop more. This will
encourage repeat business from the customers mainly
due to the convenience of transactions.
Conclusion
● When starting a small business, you need to consider

whether the use of a cash register will be productive,

or you should look into the different Sales Operating
Systems that will better suit your business. Proper use
of these systems will save you time that you can use
in other areas of your business.
V. Benefits
A sale and inventory system is a combination of software
and hardware that allows merchants to take transactions
and simplify key day-to-day business operations.
Systems are Better, There are many point of sale
advantages and benefits for your business, especially
when compared to traditional cash registers. With a sale
and inventory system, you’ll see benefits in every area of
your business, not just at the checkout.

Increased Efficiency
● When your cashiers have the right tools to support how

they work, your operation will run more efficiently.

You can’t expect a carpenter to build a house without
a hammer and nails, right? So don’t expect your
employees to decrease checkout times if you’re not
giving them the right tools for the job — a barcode
scanner and a Sale and Inventory system.
Ease of Use
● As the days of analog technology continue to fall

further out of use behind us, so do cash registers.

Today, everything is digital, and everything is
touchscreen. Navigating a touchscreen has become
second nature to practically all of us. With an intuitive
interface, Sales and Inventory System software is
simple for employees to learn, which will result in
shortening training time and help them to be more
productive overall.
● It also a way wherein your cashier can be more

productive because instead of using a Manual

Inventory System when you are using a Sale and
Inventory System it will lessen the time recording an
inventory and you can do more work.
Greater Accuracy
● A point of sale system with an easy-to-use, touchscreen

interface puts all the information your sales associates

and cashiers need at their fingertips. It eliminates
manually keying in items and prices like you would
with a cash register. Sale and inventory technology
improves accuracy throughout your entire operation,
with real-time data. Eliminating the need to upload or
enter data into back-office systems — minimizing the
risk of human error.
Inventory Management
● Sale and inventory technology includes advanced
inventory management capabilities. From tracking a
product’s quantity-on-hand to setting up reorder
triggers and a retail matrix, Sale and inventory system
software is going to save you hours of inventory
management each week. And the best part is your Sale
and Inventory system will also give you real-time
inventory data.
Employee Management
● Your sale and inventory software will minimize the time

you spend on schedules and schedule enforcement.

Modern sale and inventory systems include time clock
functionality, so your employees can clock in and out
on a sale and inventory terminal.
● Sale and inventory advantages empowers you with

access control measures to make sure employee

identity is verified for clock-ins and access to your
system—especially for functions including voids and
returns to minimize shrinkage from employee theft.
Reporting
● Sale and Inventory systems have reporting features that

allow you to keep a close eye on sales, profits. Sale

and inventory reports give you data in real-time, and
formatted with easy-to-read information. With sale
and inventory reporting, you can access reports even
when you are at home or traveling. No matter where
you are, you’ll always have the information you need
to make data-driven business decisions.
● Your Sale and Inventory system will also allow you to

monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as

average customer sales, stock turnover, and sell-
through rate. This visibility into your business
performance will help you identify prosperous areas
of your business and others that may need
improvement. Either way, this insight will assist you
in making the necessary adjustments to help you
maintain profitability and competitiveness.
Simplified Accounting
● A sale and inventory system helps streamline the

accounting process. Old-fashioned cash registers force

accountants to sort through hundreds of receipts, but
with a Sale and inventory system, you can print
reports and, in many cases, import data directly with
your accounting software.
Detailed Receipts
● Sale and inventory systems provide your customers

with more detailed receipts rather than just a slip of

paper with the date and the amount of the sale. Sale
and inventory systems use inventory data to provide
much more information, including item description,
price, and savings from a sale or coupon. With some
systems, you also have the option to customize a
particular portion of the receipt like the footer. You
can use this to print coupons directly on the receipt,
provide information on your loyalty rewards program,
state your return policy, or promote your social media
channels — or any other custom message.

Faster Service
● Do you like to wait in long lines? We didn’t think so;

we don’t either, and neither do your customers. In

fact, if checkout lines are too long, customers will get
frustrated and put back the items they intended to
purchase and walk out. A sale and inventory solution
provides a faster checkout process, especially if
they’re using a barcode scanner to ring up the
products. Sale and inventory system technology
allows you to make the most of the checkout
experience to engage customers and make sure they
leave with a good impression of your brand.
