    SHIMADZU OPTICAL EMISSION SPECTROMETER

    PDA-7000 / 5500 S

    STARTING THE EQUIPMENT

    1. Turn ON the main switch, the temperature (Air con) unit, consol unit
    & source unit.

    2. Turn ON the power switch of vacuum pump

    3. Turn ON the power switch of Win-kit (white box) unit.

    4. Turn ON the power of the data processing unit. (CPU, Monitor, Printer)

    5. Double click on PDA icon, input password & check of instrument


    status.

    6. Select ON at photo detector voltage

    It takes about 3 hrs for the spectrometer’s temperature to reach the set
    temperature & become stabilized

    Since turning on the switch of the temperature regulator unit.

    The operation as stated above are necessary only required when all power
    switches are OFF.

    STOPPING THE EQUIPMENT

    1. Select OFF at photo detector voltage

    2. Turn OFF the power of the data processing unit. (CPU, Monitor,
    Printer)

    4. Turn OFF the power switch of Win-kit (white box) unit.

    5. Turn OFF the power switch of vacuum pump

    6. Turn OFF the switch of Source unit.


    DAILY MAINTANECE

    1. Perform Spark stand cleaning.

    2. Replace / Sharpen Tungsten Electrode. (Use gap gauze 4mm)

    3. Confirm Argon gas & Bypass 0.3 liter/min & Analysis 12 liter/min.

    5. For sample preparation we recommend to use 60 grades Al2O3 paper.

    6. Perform Waste discharge.

    7. Do manual scanning

    8. Do 2-Point recalibration.

    WEEKLY MAINTANECE

    1. Change bubbler Water.

    2. Clean Bubbler tube

    MONTHLY MAINTANECE

    1. Clean Condenser lens or after 3,000 spark (Use tooth


    paste)

    2. Check vacuum pump oil level. If milky replace & if level is low re-
    Plaines.
