DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Post Title : Legal Assistant

Work Station : Central Office (OED-Legal Office)

I. SCOPE OF WORK

1. GENERAL DUTIES

1.1. Contribute research work for the timely provision of legal advice on
population-related laws as well as relevant domestic and international
laws in response to inquiries within and from third parties;

1.2. Provide general administrative and logistical support for the Legal
Office and the Office of the Executive Director (OED), including taking
services requests and other communication from Central Office
Divisions, Regional Offices and other stakeholders, and assisting in the
preparation of events and the arrangement of necessary materials
thereof.

2. SUPPORT DUTIES

2.1. Maintain databases to be used for specific reporting;

2.2. Monitor calendars, deadlines and case statuses;

2.3. Gather and arrange evidence and other legal documents for Attorney
IV review and case preparation;

2.4. Conduct investigation surrounding facts of a specific case;

2.5 Analyze data and documents and compile results to be used for the
preparation of reports required of the Legal Office;

2.6. Research critical issues relevant to the work of the Attorney IV,
including but not limited to administrative justice, integrity
management, and anti-corruption cases;

2.7. Assist in providing first draft of proposed Board of Commissioners


resolutions to clearly set out all programmatic details of the agency.

2.8. Act as liaison officer for the Legal Office.

3. DOCUMENT AND CASE MANAGEMENT

3.1. Assist with the implementation of case management system and


document management system both of which are specifically tailored
to protect documents and information of a confidential nature;

3.2. File all necessary documents accurately and timely and with due regard
to their confidential nature;

3.3. Log and track all incoming and outgoing correspondence.

4. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES THAT MAY BE ASSIGNED.
