Seller's Description
BORE!...C&R
NO RESERVE!! Here's a variation of the famous Colt .45 automatic that's a must-
have in any 1911 collection! This pistol is one of just 15,037 Model 1911 pistols
that were specifically marked with the "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. NAVY" designation.
The serial number places it in 1913 production and among a group of pistols
shipped to the U.S. Navy Yard in Brooklyn on July 30, 1913. This pistol is in very
good overall condition and retains most of its original components. The slide
markings are correct for a pistol in this serial range with the rampant pony
behind the cocking serrations, but no 1913 patent date yet added. The frame
carries the correct intertwined "WGP" stamp of army inspector Major Walter G.
Penfield. The barrel is also correctly marked for a U.S. Navy pistol manufactured
in 1913, horizontally marked with the "P H" atop the chamber. It has the correct
short hammer, correct early safety with thin thumb piece, correct 15-row grips,
recoil spring guide with sharp rear legs, etc. The two-tone lanyard loop magazine
is also period correct.
Overall condition is very good and the pistol retains about 75% of its original
blue finish. All markings are crisply struck. There some significant dings along
the sides of the slide, some thinning to the finish at the sharp edges and grip
straps, and a small amount of pitting along the back of the mainspring housing.
It appears that the sights had been changed at one point and the sights have
now been replaced with more appropriate round-top rear sight and half-moon
front sight. The recoil spring plug also appears to be a replacement. The original
grips are in very good condition with only light wear and one small epoxy repair
to a gouge along the rear edge of the left panel. This pistol is in excellent
mechanical condition and the bore rates very good with sharp rifling that shows
some light frost...very shootable. The lanyard loop magazine is in good condition
with normal finish wear. Not a perfect pistol, but a decent example of a relatively
scarce 1911 that will make a good "place holder" until a better one can be found.
Buyer pays $20.00 shipping. Your C&R License is acceptable for transfer if
permitted in your area.
SORRY, BUT I CANNOT END ANY AUCTION EARLY……PLEASE DON'T ASK!

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: Modern firearms must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer in your
area. Bidder to supply a signed copy of local dealer’s license before shipment will be made. The FFL may be

determined to be C&R’s by ATF and/or guns known to be at least 50 years old). Please note that a C&R
license is only valid for the person to whom it is issued...we cannot accept your buddy's C&R license for a
firearm YOU purchased.
California Residents: We do ship to California whenever legal to do so. Many older handguns cannot be
shipped into California due to State Restrictions. If the handgun in this auction is not on the current
California Roster of Certified Handguns, please do not bid! The list can be checked here: CALIFORNIA HANDGUN
ROSTER. C&R Handguns are exempt from this restriction however California law will NOT allow shipment of
C&R HANDGUNS direct to a C&R holder in the State of California, a licensed 01 dealer must be used. We can
ship C&R LONG GUNS directly to a California C&R holder but only if that C&R holder ALSO has a current
California Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
New York Residents: Handguns cannot be shipped directly to a C&R holder in the State of New York and

Antique firearms require bidder to supply proof of age. Some areas still require an FFL transfer for antique &
black powder firearms (New Jersey, NYC, etc.)
