Microsoft Certified Trainer MCT ENROLLMENT AND RENEWAL

The Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) Program is an annual membership program. To enroll for the first time
or to renew your membership each year, you need to complete an online application, meet the program
requirements, and pay an annual fee.
The process includes some recent changes that make enrollment and renewal more convenient. A major
improvement to the MCT Program is rolling renewal, which ensures that all MCT members receive a full 12
months of MCT Program participation and benefits—regardless of their enrollment date.

Introducing rolling renewal

In previous years, the renewal deadline for all MCT Program members was April 30. Members were required
to pay the full year’s program fee, regardless of when they entered the program.
Rolling renewal customizes the timing of the annual renewal for each individual MCT, based on the date that
his or her initial application was approved.
Now, if your application is approved on April 8, for example, you get 12 full months of MCT Program
membership, with a renewal deadline of April 7 the following year.

Using this guide

This user guide is for new MCTs, reinstated applicants with previous MCT history, and MCTs who are
renewing their membership or applying to the MCT Alumni Program. Before starting the enrollment or
renewal process, you need:
• Your Microsoft account (formerly known as Windows Live ID) and password.
• Your Metrics that Matter (MTM) ID. If you don’t have one, you can apply for one during the new MCT
authentication process (see Signing in—new enrollment, step 5).
• An accepted form of payment for the program fee. For a fee schedule, see the MCT Program Fees.
Fees vary by region.

Initial steps (Signing in) for new MCTs, renewing MCTs, and MCT Alumni vary slightly. Subsequent steps
(Completing verification and billing) are identical for all.
New MCTs. If you are enrolling in the program for the first time, go to Signing in—new enrollment and
