 FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

I hope everyone is staying cool as we enter the last month of summer. My thoughts now begin to turn as I start
looking forward to all of the activities we enjoy in the fall. The crisp autumn days are getting closer. Before we know it,
it will be time for sweaters, bonfires, and pumpkin patches! I can hardly wait!
It is now more important than ever that the Friends of the Library (FOL) continue to support our local Library. The
Library needs our help with fundraising activities. As many of you already know, the Library has been working on plans
to build a new state-of-the-art facility. Additionally, the Library can use all the help it can get with funding. Everyone
on the staff works so hard with the limited funds they receive to provide the best library services to the people of Dale
County. We can aid them in a number of ways, such as volunteering to help with using the phones and putting together
mailing materials during fundraising campaigns. There is much that we can do. I encourage anyone with any ideas for
ways we can help the Library raise funds to reach out to me by email at jeffdevinefol@gmail.com. I appreciate the
members who have already done so.
I would like to take a moment to give a special thank you to all of our wonderful Book Sale Room volunteers. You
all work very hard to keep everything running smoothly in the Book Sale Room. I know the Library also greatly
appreciates your hard work and dedication.
I would also like to remind everyone that the FOL Board meets on the second Wednesday of every month at
10:30am in the Library’s Board Room. I will be sending out an email to all members very soon. It will include more
information about our efforts to help the Library. If you are not currently a member of Friends of the Library but would
be interested in supporting the Library in its important mission, please consider joining today. The Library continues to
be one of the most important public institutions society can have. Let’s all continue to work hard and help our local
library in every way we possibly can!
