2.1 Alternative Binders for Flexible Pavement.

This article was written by Md Maniruzzaman A. Aziz, Md Tareq Rahman, Mohd. Rosli

Hainin and Wan Azelee Wan Abu Bakar on 2016. By physical results, Pavement can be

compared to a tile, a road pavement as mentioned in this article has a production

process that will be similar to a flexible tiles. It will tangled an impact of specific process

associated with the conversion of swine manure to bio-oil was thermochemical and

utilities the heavy residue remaining in this process as an asphalt modifier. This

particular study has been researching on the use of bio-binders. The binders which is

completely or partially derived from bio based material which makes it renewable and

environmental friendly.[1]

There are three ways to use bio-binders. First one is a direct alternative which comprises

100% replacement of bitumen and could pave a way a new generation of alternatives

materials instead of using bitumen, Second is Bitumen Extender which comprises 75%

and lastly, Third Bitumen Modifier which comprises 10% of the replacement of the

bitumen. This benefits over natural fossil fuels because they are environmental friendly,

renewable, and could provide secured energy globally.
