Expectations in Grade 4

Homework Expectations
● Review concepts, practice skills and promote responsibility.
● Homework is posted online.
● Please encourage your child to check and complete his/her homework
independently in the future.
● Send an email or note if your child can’t complete his/her homework.
● 40 minutes of homework each night in Grade 4. Students are expected to
review material learned that day in class.
Laptops
● All Grade 4 students need a laptop
● Daily use for:

● Should be fully charged each night


● Hong Kong outlet plug
● Headphones and a charging cable should also be brought for use at
school

Why do students need counselling?

How to refer my child for counselling?

1. Talk to your child’s homeroom teacher about your concerns


2. Homeroom teacher will send you a parent referral form
3. Fill out the parent referral form and send to the School Counsellor's email
4. School Counsellor meets your child for need assessments
5. Student will be given a parental consent form to sign
6. Student brings the signed parental consent form to the School Counsellor
7. Set up a regular appointment time with homeroom teacher
8. Begin weekly counselling session

◦ What is Inclusive Education?


◦ Inclusive Education is an attitude and approach that embraces diversity,
learner differences and promotes equal opportunities for ALL learners.
◦ This is a school wide process where the student support team works together
on understanding a student’s strengths and areas of growth, creating safe
and respectful learning environments and reducing barriers within their
learning environments.

◦ Support provided in an universal, targeted or individual way within the regular
classroom
◦ Offering students multiple pathways of engagement, representation and
expression of learning
◦ Providing instructional, environmental and assessment based accommodations

scaffolding concepts for students and suggestions for use of assistive

Attendance Policy
Attending regularly and arriving on time are the keys to success.

Attendance is taken between 8:15 and 8:20.

A student will be sent to the office for a late slip if arrival time is after 8:15.

Excessive Absences or Lates:

● will be investigated by the Head Teacher. This may result in a meeting with the
student and/or a phone call home.
