    Course Description:
    This course provides an advanced study of physiology at the cellular
    level with an emphasis on the three integrative systems: the nervous, the
    endocrine systems and the immune system. It explores how cellular integration
    and cellular interaction are able to generate complex cognitive functions such as
    the control and maintenance of homeostasis, and the balance between health and
    disease.

    Course Objectives
    On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
    1. Relate the interconnection of the body’s physiological control systems,
    homeostasis and the interrelationship of structure and function from a
    perspective that spans from conception to death;
    2. Integrate learned knowledge of the body systems to contrast normal
    physiology and anatomy with the effects of disease or degeneration;
    3. Critically evaluate the implications of the changes;
    4. Synthesize and apply learned knowledge to real situations;
    5. Work independently and with others as part of a group on a Special
    Problem
