Q:1 Two spheres each of weight 750 N and a radius of 140 mm rest in a (10)
horizontal channel of width 480 mm as shown in Fig. 1. Find the reactions
on the point of contact A, B and C. Assume all the contact surfaces are
smooth.

Q:2 A lamp of weight W is supported with the help of two cables AB & AC and (14)
a bar AO as shown in Fig. 2. If the tension in the cable AB is 1 kN,
determine the maximum weight of the lamp that can be supported and
forces in cable AC and bar AO.
