CHAPTER 1 GENERAL

Thank you for using the product of FOSHAN JOINCHAMP MEDICAL

DEVICE CO., LTD.ZC-S300 integral dental unit is the latest product of
JOINCHAMP .Please read this manual carefully to know the product well.

1.1 GENERAL CONTENT

You will find INTEGRAL DENT UNIT OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS,
REGULAR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE, PRECAUTION and so on to
obtain the help.

1.2 SAFETY INFORMATION

1.21 Power safety
• The ZC-S300 Integral Dental Unit is intended for use in the electromagnetic
environment with good earthing equipment, the user should use three pins plug and
connection-peg to assure to be good earthing.
• Please confirm the power supply can fit the input power requirement as singe on the
power symbol before electrify.
• Please do not share the connection-peg with other equipments to avoid the unstable of
voltage to damage the product.
• Please make sure cutting off the power before the cleaning or maintenance.
• Please regularly check whether the three pins plug and the wiring is damaged or
pressed by other things

1.2.2 Static defend

The controlling system will be affected by static ,some times it will become damage if
being serious .Please touch any earthing material before touch any electric part to relieve the
static.

1.23 Cleaning the product

~ t Please maintain the environment clean. Cut the power supply before clean it.
Wipe the surface of the dental by a mild cloth with detergent, then clean it again by
a dankish cloth.
Note: Not using the wash containing of liquid or flammable material.

It.. Being a fixation after Well-installation, please don't move the dental willfully,
~ for fear damage the power wire, water and air pipe, and drainage pipe linked to
the dental. If it is necessary to move the dental (eg: decorate or move the clinic),
please make the dental chair lowest ,let the backrest straight, turn Instrument arm and

instrument disc to the top of the dental chair, then pluck the power supply wire as well as the
water pipe, air pipe and drainage pipe.

Warning :Do not damage the water pipe, air pipe and drainage pipe as moving the dental
units .Do not use power on the Instrument arm and the shell of the decorated cover. Allowed
complete this action by the guiding of the expertise or approval expert by FOSHAN
JOINCHAMP MEDICAL DEVICE CO., LTD.

The lC-S300lntegral Dental Unit is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment in which radiated RF disturbances
are controlled. The customer or the user of the ZC-S300lnfegral Dental Unit can help prevent electromagnetic interference by
maintaining a minimum distance between portable and mobile RF communications equipment (transmitters) and the
ZC-S300lntegral Dental Unit as recommended below, according to the maximum output power of the communications
equipment.

J 1. 2 Installation preparation
Determine the location of equipment subject to the general layout and lighting of the
clinic room and for the convenience of operation. Put the equipment on a clean, dry, ventilated
and cool place and maintain a good operation environment. Be sure that the floor contracting
with the bottom of the dental chair should be smooth, horizontal and stable.
Sufficient place for water, air and electricity input or output connection should be provided
under the front cover of the dental chair. ~ 15mm (1/2" ) running water pipe should be used as
intake water pipe and exhaust pipe. Thread R 1/2"should be provided on the opening of pipe.
~ 40mm(3/2" ) running water pipe should be used as drainage pipe. Terminals of all pipes
should be about 40mm over the floor. Input cable should be three-wire flexible sheathed cable
of 1 square mm and about 400mm over the floor (as shown in figure 3), with proper protection
grounding.

J 1. J Installation procedures
3.1.3.1 Unpack checking
Unpack the packing carton and check if the equipment is sound without any damage.

Check if the configurations and spare parts are complete and sound according to the packing
list. For any question, please do not hesitate to contact the dealer or manufacture.
3.13.2. Installation of integral dental unit
Locate the dental chair as preset. Consideration of overall stability is included in the
design of integral dental unit. No ground screw is needed. The floor contracting with the
bottom of the dental chair should be smooth, horizontal and stable, to prevent from accident
due to the unevenness of floor.
In case of uneven floor causing the rotation or inclination of integral dental unit, take out
six M12 hollow-head setscrews from the accessories and screw in six fv112 tapped holes on
the bottom of dental chair, to make the dental chair have full contract with the floor. Pay
attention to the level of equipment and maximum contracts during adjustment, to ensure the
stability of equipment.
3.1.3.3 Installation of floor box
Turn two pipe connectors G1/2"x P 8 of the accessories into the inlet water pipe and
inlet air pipe respectively. Pay attention to sealing while making connection, to prevent air
leakage and water leakage. Remove the cover of the floor box and install the floor box to the
proper preset location, where no bending of pipe between the dental unit cabinet and the floor
box will occurred during the upward and downward movement of the dental chair box will
occurred during the upward and downward movement of the dental chair.

3.3.1.4. Connection of pipes

Before the connection of pipes, discharge the water and air inside the equipment first,
to remove dirt and impurity inside the pipes and prolong the service life of integral dental unit.
Use P 8 PU pipe of the accessories to connect to connect to water source and air source.
Pay attention to sealing (as shown in figure 3). Besides, put the white plastic drainage
connector to drainage pipe and make proper connection. Be sure of firm and sealed
connection.

3.3.1.5. Connection to power source

Make connection to power supply as shown in the wiring figure. Make proper grounding
connection and protection. Use the power plug of accessories to connect to power source if
there is no preset cable under the ground.

Pass the cable connected to the operation light arm through the Upright tube and make

proper connection. Then connect the cable connector on the operating arm to the connector
on the stand inside the dental unit cabinet, put it into the stand, assemble the upright tube over
the stand and put the operation light arm on specific position. Be sure not to damage the cable.
Pass the cable connector of light through the Decorative cover and connect to the cable
connector of light. Play more attention to the correction of the voltage in the cable color-mark.
Insect the head of the light to the light arm and set the screw (figure 4 for reference).then
covered the screw and sew by the decorative cover.
3.1.3.7 Installation of band pieces
Well-connected the handpieces and never racing without loading or over pressure to
operate the handpieces.

3.1.3.8 Installation of scalar (optional )

ZC-S300 has optional scalar, the manual for Installation of scalar is for reference

3.1.3.9 Installation of curing light (optional)

ZC-S300 has optional curing light. the manual for Installation of curing light is for
reference.

3.1.3.10 Installation of intra camera system (optional)

ZC-S300 has optional intra camera system, its display is fixed on the Upright tube. If it is
with managing system ,please connect the video frequency, audio frequency and power wire
to the computer .For other device ,please install by its own manual.

3.2 Debugging and operation

3.2.1Dental unit
3.2.1.1. Handpieces
Connect water, air and power supply. Turn on the general air switch on the side of the
floor box and check the pressure gauge on the floor box. The value should be 0.5'"'-'0.55 MPa
(set by manufacture).Adjust the filter relief valve if required to maintain the value. The air
pressure method: turn on the floor box, pull the handle on the top of the filter relief valve up for
about 10mm as shown in figure 5, turn the handle clockwise to increase the pressure and
contra clockwise to decrease the pressure.
Water supply to handpieces and all other instruments on the instrument disc is directly
from the purified water bottle and the water pressure depends on the air pressure of the
purified water bottle and the air pressure is controlled by the specific relief valve inside the
floor box. Open the floor box and check the pressure gauge installed on the relief valve. The
value should be O.2'"'-'O.3MPa.Adjust the filter relief valve if required to maintain the said value.
Regulation procedures are the same as the filter relief valve above-mentioned.
Take the handpieces from the holder, step the pedal switch and turn on the handpieces for
operation. Be noted that the pressure indicated on the pressure gauge of the instrument disc
is the operating pressure of the handpieces (*1), which should be no more than the rating
maximum pressure of the hand pieces against damages. Adjust the operating pressure of
handpieces if required by regulating the main control valve under the instrument disc as
shown in figure 8. Turn the handle clockwise to increase the pressure and contra clockwise to
decrease the pressure. Adjust carefully and slowly. The blowing of cooling water may be
adjusted also by turning the water handle under the instrument disc on the left side as shown
in figure 6.

Note *
1 There are some difference between the pressure of the instrument disc and pedal
switch, and this difference is lost value for the handpieces pressure. The pressure loss of
straight handpieces is less (about O.04MPa). The pressure loss of turning handpieces is
bigger (about 0.1 MPa).ltis good for the usage for the handpieces when the pressure in the
instrument disc qua the the pressure loss of turning handpieces.

3.2.1.2 Three way syringe

This machine is equipped by two pieces of three-way syringe. One of the three-way
syringes is mounted to the instrument disc and use cold water. Another three-way syringe is
laid on the assistant arm and use hot water. Identify waterway from airway (left for water and
right for air). Check if the water and air are sprayed from the syringe is in conformity with the
markings by the button of three-way syringe. Adjust the valve the instrument disc for adjusting
the air and water. Turn the handle clockwise to increase the pressure and anticlockwise to
decrease the pressure. Adjust carefully and slowly.

3.2.1.3. Saliva ejector and powerful suction

Saliva ejector and powerful suction are provided with the unit. Take the saliva ejector or
powerful suction from the holder to start operation immediately. Water connection is required
for low aspiration to guarantee minimum operating pressure required .

.A. Warning: Clean or replace the core of water filter timely

3.2.1.4 Gargling water

Gargling water is provided with auto thermostatic and water flow setting functions. Warm
water is supplied by Gargling water is provided with auto thermostatic and water flow setting
functions. Warm water is supplied by the built-in auto thermostatic heater. Press the heater
button on the control board if warm water is required as shown in section3.2.1.6 .It makes
some slight cry, and the indication light is on ,it means the water becomes heater. Reach the
set temperature, the heater will stop automatically, the light becomes strong ,it means it is
working normally. It will heat automatically again as the temperature is down.
Water flow is controlled by the built-in control board and is preset by user freely. For
setting, press the "SET" key on the control board of the instrument disc to light on the indicator.
Then put an empty cup on the outlet of gargling water, continuously press the "gargling water"

key on the control board to supply water. Release until the required water enough to stop
water supply. Press the "SET' key on the control board to light off the indicator. The above
process will be saved and the setting is finished. For operation, press the "gargling water" key
on the control board to supply water until the preset water is enough.
Press "gargling water" key again can stop water supply if termination of water supply is
required during operation. This termination operation is also applicable to other functions.

3.2.1.5 Heater
Press heater key to turn on the heater and the indicator flashing. Temperature reached
but light of indicator is on. Press heater key again if heating is not required light off the
indicator. You can adjust the temperature , the manual of XP-1220 can be your
reference

3.2.1.6 Cuspidor washing water

Setting of washing time: Press the "SET" key to light on the indicator, showing that
general setting mode is on. Press the "Cuspidor washing water" key indicator light on -the
washing will stop automatically after 30 minutes. Press the "Cuspidor washing water" key
twice -the washing will stop automatically after 60 minutes. Press the key three times
-washing will stop automatically after 15 minutes. Make your choice from the above three
setting selections and press the "SET" key again to light off the indicator and finish the setting.
For operation, press the key. The indicator light on and water running if the setting is auto stop
in 30 minutes will stop after 30 minutes. If the setting is auto stop in 60 minutes, washing
will stop after 60 minutes. If immediate stop is required, press the cuspidor washing water
key again.

3.2.1.7 Purified water bottle

For the unit provided with purified water bottle, water required for handpieces and all
other instruments on the instrument disc is directly supplied by the purified water bottle. It is
necessary to fill medical distilled water on time. Way of filling: Turn off the air switch of the
purified water bottle to exhaust the compressed air inside the bottle. Hold the purified water
bottle with both hands, rotate clockwise to take off the purified water bottle, fill in water and
rotate contra clockwise to tighten the bottle (sealed). Turn on the air switch.

3.2.1.8 Pedal switch

ZC-S300 is used 4-holes handpieces, it has blowing air function to blow away the scraping.
If want to use this function, can step on the blowing air button. Step is on, move away is closed.
And the blowing cooling water also can be controlled, step on the cooling water switch. close
the red point is on, and away is off, see (Figure 6)

3.2.1.9 Dental curing light

Please refer to the manual for the dental curing lighto

3.2.1.10 Scalar
ZC-S300 has optional scalar, take up the scalar from the holder and tread the pedal
switch and the scalar begins to vibration then it is ready to be used. Make sure water supply
otherwise the scalar will be damaged. The water can be controlled (refer to figure 7) the power
can also be controlled by the handle on the instrument disc (figure 7). Please make sure that
the working drill part is being winding otherwise no proper output. The scalar is precise
instrument so please refer to the manual for the scalar before using.

3.2.1.11 Intra camera system

If you choose the intra camera system of lC-2000, please refer to the
"lC -2000managing system manual"
If you choose the intra camera system of lC-2001, please referent the
"lC -2001 managing system manual"

3.2.2 Debugging of Dental chair

3.2.2.1 Headrest
The headrest may be adjusted to different positions by regulating the height and angle
as shown in figure 12. Hold the headrest, turn it up and down to the suitable height. Loosen
the nut and adjust the forward and backward position of the headrest, to make the headrest
into a proper position.
Note: Be sure to lock the headrest after regulation to
prevent accident during operation.

3.2.2.2 Up and down of the dental chair \ \
The dental chair is provided with three control systems. The movement The dental chair
is provided with three control systems. The movement of dental chair may be controlled either
by the control board or by the pedal switch and assistant control for the same function. Press
the upward control key on the upper part of the dental chair symbol to lift up the seat of dental
chair or turn on the pedal switch (as shown in figure13) upward to lift up the dental chair. The
indicator on the control board will light on at the same time. Release the key to stop lifting and
light of indicator off. For operation, continuously press the upward key until the required
position is reached. If the dental chair lift up to the limited height, it will stop lifting even the key
is pressed.
Control the downward movement of dental chair by using the downward key on the lower part
of the dental chair symbol as lifting up. The dental chair will also stop if the lowest height is
reached.

A..Note: As movable parts are provided with the-dental chair and the treatment unit
is connected to the movable parts of the dental chair, the treatment unit will move upward or
downward with the dental chair. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that no other articles will be
during the movement of the equipment to prevent against accident
3.2.2.3Movement of dental chair backrest
Move the dental chair backrest backward or forward by using the backward or forward
key on the left or right part of the dental chair symbol. The left control key is for backward and
the right is for forward movement. The movement of dental chair back is also limited.

3.2.2.4The application of the Spittoon
If the patient needs to spit saliva, please press the "spittoon position key", and then the
dental chair will move to the topmost. Press the "spittoon position key" again, the dental
chair will move back to the original position.

3.2.2.5 The application of the "Reset Key"

Before the treatment press the "Reset Key", the backrest will move to the topmost or the
lowest. It is convenient for the patient get on or get off the dental chair

CHAPTER 4 Replacement of wearing parts

4. 1 Cleaning and lubricate the handpieces

Please refer to the manual for the handpieces.
4.2 Water filter
Water filter is provided on the water inlet of floor box(as shown in figure14) to ensure
the normal operation of the unit and prevent impurity substance of water from entering the
equipment. Dirt accumulated may block the filter core and affect the flowing of water after
ling-term operation. It is necessary to clean or replace the filter core to resume the application
function. Generally, the filter core should be cleaned or replaced under anyone of the
following conditions:
(1) Used for one year or longer.
(2) The pressure loss of filter core is over 0.1 MPa.
(3) The filter core is polluted.
(4) The outlet water is turbid.
(5) The smallest articles filtered by filter core will be 901Jm.
Cleaning or replacement procedures are as follows: open the floor box cover, remove the
water filter and turn contra clockwise to remove the filter casing. Take out seal ring and filter
core, clean or replace and put the filter core and seal ring back to assemble the water filter.

4.3 Filter relief valve

To ensure the stability, clean and dryness of air input to the unit, air filter relief valve (refer to
figure 5) is provided at the air inlet of floor box to stabilize the air pressure not over the preset
value and filter the impurity water of air. The filtered water will accumulate in the filter cup and
should be drained after a period of time, to ensure the normal function of filter. Generally, the
filter relief valve should be drained under anyone of the following conditions:
(1) Used for one week or over.
(2) Water in the filter cup is 3/4 of the total volume
(3) Colored water (not the see through water) in the filter cup
Drainage procedures are as follows: open the floor box cover and turn clockwise the nut
under the filter to discharge water. Tighten the nut after the drainage. To keep the
surroundings clean, water absorbing articles such as cotton rag, tissues or sponge may be

placed around the water outlet, to absorb the drained water

4.4 X-film viewer

X-film viewer is used to view X-ray photo. It may be damaged after long-term operation
and should be replaced by a new one. Follow the following procedures for replacement:
(1) Turn off power.
(2) Remove the rear cover, check to see the built-in light tube (AC24V, 7W) is firmed
connected or damaged. Reassemble the X-film viewer after replacement.

Note: Be sure to cut off power for any operation on the X-film.

4.5 Travel switch, electromagnetic valve

As take up the handpiece to pull the handpiece's line ,and the handpieces doesn't work;
or put the handpiece back to the original place ,but the handpiece is still working .These
situation means the travel switch, electromagnetic valve has been damaged ,and need
change a new one. For more detail information: remove the travel switch, and change a new
one .(figure 12,13 for reference ).Or remove the soleplate of the instrument disc, and change a
new electromagnetic valve.

Cha p t e r 5 Regular Operation and Maintenance

1. Water pressure should be complied with technical index value, l.e.

0.2Mpa~0.4Mpa.
2. Air pressure should be equal or above O.SSMpa, flow more than SOL/min.
3. Power supply should be 230V+ 10%.
4. After operation of saliva ejector and powerful suction, they must suck some
water ( more than two glasses), as to clean the pipe, negative pressure ejector
and other parts, and prevent jam and damage.
5. The speed of ejecting water into glass should be adjusted properly, to prevent
spattering outside and overflowing which will result in polluting working
environment.
6. Designing load of instrument disc should be 2.5 Kgs. It must be prohibited to
place heavy articles on instrument disc which will result in instrument disc
damage and bad fixing, and to prevent impact the balance.
7. Before and after operation of air turbine H.P., it should be directed to cuspidor
turning and spraying for 1~2 seconds, so as to clean out the H.P. pipe and
prevent cross infection.
8. After a period of working time, there will be some dust on reflector surface of
operation light to affect operation light function. It should be cleaned out with
three-way syringe for air, or wet and soft cloth periodically. It must be strictly
prohibited to scrape it.
9. Water should be turned off from cuspidor so as to shorten continuous operation
time of electromagnetic valve and prolong the service time.
10. Operation light should be always turned off when not in working condition.
Generally the service time of bulb will be 1000 hours. The reflector functions
with heat conduction and continuous operation for a long time will result in
damage owing to over-heating at rear part of light.
11. After work everyday, the surface of dental units should be wiped to prevent
harmful materials corroding dental units. The corrosive wash with acid and
alkali must be prohibited.
12. Operation and maintenance of H.P. should be strictly complied with H.P.
manual. Pay special attention to the cleanness and lubrication of H.P.
13.Before you leave after work ,make sure to cut off the water, electronic and air
equipments.

CHARPTER 6 Precaution
1. Make sure that no other articles will be encumbrance within the movement scope
of the chair during the operating of the dental chair.
2. Discharge accumulated water inside the filter relief valve timely.
3. Clean or replace the core of water filter timely.
4. Make sure to hold the control key until the required position is reached during the
lifting operation of dental chair.
S. Make sure that the headrest is locked after regulation.
6. Make sure to cut off power before replacing any parts.
7. Make sure to cut off power before maintenance or cleaning.
8. Do not transit the dental unit unbinding after well-installation.
9. Sterilizes the turbine H.P., saliva ejectors and scalars after touched the patient's
mouth.
1O.Person without training must be prohibited to operate the integral dental units.
11. Maintenance of dental units must be carried out by well-trained and qualified
personnel by Foshan JoinChamp Medical Device Co., Ltd.
12. The psychopath and minor shall be under guardian to prevent any accidents
caused by operation of integral dental unit.
13. It must be prohibited to operate integral dental unit when knowing clearly dangers
or shall prep. accidents,
